Well yeah I mean it was a cute little kitty cat of course they’re sad. When you hear that a baby died do you have to know it personally in order to be sad about it? Bill was just screwing with people he understands the concept perfectly well.
know what's worse 'bout the early cut? if you extend the bit, bill talks about how the cat dies, the gorilla is told it died, the gorilla proceeds to internalize deep sudden loss of loved one, and then starts to whimper moan and cry ..."that's how the video ends... and like you (audience) i was like WHAT THE FUCK?! YOU'RE GONNA END ON THAT?!" whole 'nother meta-level of fuckin' bullshit by netflix... (but bill signed the contract, so w/e - hope he gets paid).
Koko understood 1,500 English words and sign them. Cognition: when she ripped the sink and toilet off the wall, when asked about it she said "the kitten did that" 🤣
patriots is raw no like she could have been trying to say that the kitten dying made her upset and that is what caused her to destroy the sink- but it got lost in translation or maybe her vocabulary was too small to properly say this.
no one in the crowd noticed and i literally had to do a control+F to find someone talking about it. I fucking died laughing. He even gave them a second chance to see it LMAOOOO
After it said "Feed. Eat. Food." about a thousand times first, and once it started getting rewarded for giving the "correct" responses, only then did they start documenting it's behavior.
@@doddsino True. There's a lot of wildlife/gorilla experts in the world now that don't think Koko was as authentic as her trainers and caretakers made her out to be.
They also accidentally mated and had an inbred son named Cletus, who could only learn two signs, "Guns" and "Jesus" He died tragically young from auto-erotic asphyxiation
This was seriously one of the more genius bits I've ever seen. The sign language obviously isn't correct, but the audience can still relate and find it funny. Probably took a while to get all of the moves down, each little mannerism helps sell it.
Bill really knows how to use his nonverbals to punctuate his delivery. Having listened to his podcast without seeing his standup for so long I’d forgotten how good he was with his body language.
It's likely Koko met that the kitten dying made her upset and that's why she ripper it out. Words get lost in translation she really wasn't blaming the kitten
I don't want to be that guy but i feel like the gorilla didn't actually say half the things attributed to it. There are transcripts of the gorilla talking about how it hopes the world isn't going to be destroyed or something, like complicated things and then you watch that videos and all it ever said was "food" and "hug"
I feel like the cat didnt get run over, might just be another cover story from patterson. If the cat was that important to the gorilla you think the Researchers would take better care of the feline. But they were negligent enough to let it escape and get killed? I call bs, I think that there was foul play from patterson and this is just another cover story. If you saw a kitten was picked out and than subjected to being a reward for a Gorilla learning in a captive environment against their will as amazing you need to get a reality check. Those animals were abused Koko to the very last day, her "last message" to humanity was clearly a PR stunt where who knows how long Koko was forced to sign. I hate to burst your bubble but you got played by Patterson and the media cronies that made money off this abuse. I hope you can do the right thing and know that Koko was an abused animal to be the plaything of Patterson for her own monetary and societal gain. To the very last moment of Kokos life, sad that she could not be with other gorillas and stripped away from the social and natural interaction of her own kind.
Coco didn't name anything. The whole coco the talking gorila thing was a scam, look it up. Coco was trained to do random signs, no one besides her trainer was able to "understand" it
Holy shit, you're right! And this was recorded two years before Joker came out, so somewhere out there is a guy whose natural laugh is just like Arthur Fleck's laugh. I wanna meet this man.
Koko learned the words, she wouldnt just say random things. She knew was the things were even if she might not have understood the whole thing. Search Koko on youtube and you'll see.
It's funny how Bill reacts to the crowd's reaction. He thinks they are reacting to the poor cat. I don't think I'm alone but since the story is about the gorilla, my first thought was how the gorilla would feel about never seeing the cat again.
@@_k_n_ Maybe "real" would be a better term. He's so funny without even seeming to try to be. It's like a friend talking to you about shit and he's just hilarious.
Fisht it in a cut out the rest. I remember seeing that same documentary The gorilla cried crying and was signing crying. That documentary tripped me out. His interpretation of it was hilarious though. But Coco was amazing.
He's talking about Koko, the gorilla. The videos about Koko has been my favorites on RU-vid for the longest time and it's awesome that my favorite comedian talks about it
He was talking about Koko and koko actually loved cats her favorite book was the three little kittens and unfortunately koko died in her sleep in 2018 R.I.P Koko 🦍 💕
@@trendybistro Schulz is actually pretty damn good and is an improv king, but i get what you're saying... There's levels to this... I can also just imagine how great he'll be in the next 10 years or so
if you like the sound of her she comes onto bills monday morning podcast sometimes. the dunamic they have is kinda weird but you can tell they still love each other despite holding a lot of conflicting viewpoints.
It's amazing that for the first third of this he isn't even talking about something that's inherently funny, he's just saying it in a funny way and it's great.
This guy riffs jazz with the audience on such a natural level - it’s so much fun to watch him glow with excitement every time he gets the opportunity to fuck with them
They already knew how Koko reacted to death. She told them all about when poachers came in and killed the other members of her tribe. It was all so seriously heartbreaking .
I gotta say something... With all those streaming sites you have now, I'm not gonna switch Netflix with any of them. For one reason - Netflix is unapologetic. Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle and such. That's the least I could do to support sanity in this mad world.
I saw that actual video years ago, and when that gorilla is crying by itself at night, it BROKE me. I love primates, and I'm happy we have a common ancestor
Look up Koko the gorilla. Its who he was talking about. She was quite famous. But sadly Koko got extremely sad and even cried. Koko, would call out to the kitten at night when she was a lone. :'[
Primalxbeast I’ve heard of the gorilla, but that wasn’t what made what he said funny, what was funny was, imagining what would happen if someone searched, “gorilla had a pet kitten” on the internet b/c I’m sure the results would be some crazy stuff that has nothing to do with Koko - that was what was funny😂
