Not only could I name literally countless rap songs that create original melodies (or as original as any rock or pop song, which is not original at all) but that’s not the point of rap. The entire point was creating a NEW genre that isn’t based on melody, it’s based on rhythm. Oh is that not music? Yeah it’s not like the literal FIRST FORM of music was people CHANTING over RHTYHM. Even in the 40s there were acts like The Jubalaires that did a clear predecessor to hip hop that was extremely popular at the time despite them not having melody. You can’t understand the concept of music evolving, and ideas being communicated in new ways. Not only are there still a million amazing jazz, rock and alternative musicians, but so many of these composers and jazz musicians work with rappers. I’m sure you can’t even understand the concept of structuring lyrics in different interesting ways and coming up with new innovative rhyme schemes, even though those are key aspects of poetry. I’m sure you hate the idea that rap lyrics are poetry but they are, and like the other guy said you can pull pop rap songs from the radio that are mindless but that’s not where 99% of good music has ever been. As if I can’t pull a song like sugar sugar by the Archie’s and point out it’s the most mindless unoriginal dribble on the radio. That’s just part of the lyrical side of it, not to mention all the creative and innovative aspects of sampling an already existing sound or piece of music, and arranging it in a different way to give it a completely new context. I could go on all day about the technical aspects of Hip hop music and how you can relate it to music theory, but the fact is you’re just never going to learn anything unless you’re open to it and you aren’t. You’re either like 48 and are mad you don’t understand the new music, or you’re like 12 and you just started getting into Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and you think it looks smart to shit on rap music
@@byHexted Rap music sucks and your ranting isn't making it any more attractive. Just because you can find exceptions, it doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of rap songs are lame. Also, you can infer my age from my username, so you guessed wrong 😂
