20 years ago I couldn't fathom why my mom and boyfriend moved to the sticks. Now as a mid 30s man I can't wait to move to my own rural home in a few weeks.
Loved growing up in the northern Virginia suburbs. Drive 30 minutes east and you’re in the hustle and bustle of DC. 30 minutes west and you’re in the the blue ridge mountains. Best of both worlds.
I live in a suburb of Birmingham AL and its a nice combination of a big city but not too big. Its nice. My parents used to live in rural Bama and Mississippi and like our cell phones didnt even work at their house that was a little rough. You had to drive twenty minutes to get gas or go to the iga or piggly wiggly for food. Forget restaurants unless you want to drive an hour. You could walk right outside and shoot guns for target practice any time you want so there was that.......
He has a point though. People are always like “what the hell do you need to hunt with 7.62?” Well if a fuckin bear decides to go into you home looking for food, cause you live deep into the woods, a 9mm isn’t going to do anything

An American don't need an AR-15, AR-10 or M4A1, or anything that the military uses specifically to kill the baddies, any sort of semi-auto battle riffle\carbine. No reason for the civilian population to own these because they eventually end up in the bad guys hands. And if you really cared about the cops like you say you do, you would favor getting these weapons off the streets, because even the cops are too scared to go after just one 18 year old MAGA incel armed with an AR-15 shooting up a school, and had to call in a "Special Unit" while the parents were forced to listen to the shooter murdering their kids, one by one. . Clearly we cannot trust the cops because they are either racists or cowards or both, and because your side refuses to even agree to universal background checks or making like the age of 21 before you can own one of these weapons, everything we try, that is "reasonable" your side just trashes and does something more extreme in response. So now we gonna take that shit . But nobody is taking shotguns, bolt action rifles, pistols, revolvers, etc. Dont be an idiot . This stuff is funny. I was raised out in the middle of nowhere. Hell don’t a kids strap on six shooters to go out to play? I grew up went in the military and took my little family to Disney in Florida. Some fucking city people were trying to get some cows over to the fence so their daughter could pet one. Problem is cows are smart and don’t respond to here cow. The little girl looked at me a asked if I could get the cows over. I checked with her parents who said it was ok. I spoke to the cows in their language to include stomping my right foot on the ground three times. Every cow came over. I mean, I thought all children spoke to cows, dear, rabbits, snakes and squirrels at the very least.
Personally I can’t stand the politics of city people but it’s still way better than living in rural areas. I’d rather live in the suburbs and see a few rainbow flags once in a while than live on the countryside with nothing to do and no good food in a 20 mile radius
Why do you hate the politics of people waving rainbow flags? It's either that or the traitors on the other side... I'll take purple hair dye in vegan lunches over mass shootings, xenophobia, keeping the poor down, and contributing to the industrial-military complex. For the some of us even in the biggest cities and suburbs in the world, the best food in a 20 mile radius is right at home. Everything else is just noise.
