scope creep is legit. It's just when the scope of a project gets bigger and bigger and people keep adding their ideas and at some point you just have to cut it all out and commit to the original scale of things. When it involves really big projects it's a massive pain. "creep" makes sense as it usually comes from a thousand little things slowly building up until the scope of what you're doing is now massive compared to what you were briefed to do
The most annoying one to me is the old reliable "touch base". I had a boss who used that term every 20 seconds, at this point it's like nails on a chalkboard.
Some of them made sense, but that "double click" was the cringiest one. _"Can you double click" on words you're saying out of your mouth, so I see what else is there to it?_ 😂
Scope creep is also a term in medicine used by physicians to criticize other profession. nurse practitioners not needing physician oversight, or vaccines being given at pharmacies would be examples of “scope creep”
I had a boss follow me to a job site and tell me that I'm not moving "slow", I just need to move with more "Enthusiasm".. considering I was moving thousands of pounds of furniture by hand for min-wage (with no benefits/health insurance), needless to say I quit a couple days later.
I work in a social media (instead of chasing my custom motorcycle painting/acting dreams) And the amount of Jargon makes me wanna punch a wall, talk to me like a person and I bet the results will be better
Something I’ve noticed that’s very annoying, to myself, is that we as people seem to speak in plagerized phrases. Just whole chunks taken from a larger group to be trendy and fit in. It’s everywhere. RU-vid, tv shows, movies. It’s everything, corporate talk just seems to be the main one people notice for a few reasons.
bio break they've been saying in EverQuest for decades now.. & it kind of bugs me but I get what they're saying.. some of the people are just obsessive & really negative so saying it's a bio break gives them less leverage.. me I don't care.. I don't care if they go AFK.. it's fine.. as long as we're not dying, it's fine.. but some players are really judgmental & aggressive so.. anyway.. that's where I started hearing it a lot was in EverQuest like 20 years ago
