WOW. What an improv. This just shows how natural he is at it. I used to play alto sax for a couple of years in middle school, and let me tell you improvisation is not easy.

Bill plays cautiously but his choices fit the music...he knows what he's doing and doesn't overstep his limits of the moment!

Yes! I met someone who used to play with him in college who- said Bill was a very good horn player. I also heard he recently bought some sheet music so he's back in the saddle again. Go, Bill !! :)

I play sax and once met another sax player who played with Bill Clinton in college. He said Bill was an outstanding sax player back then. It's probably impossible to practice when you're president so he's not at his best but he's pretty good despite not practicing!!

Young Joshua Redman is standing next to him. He had won the Thelonious Monk competition a year or two before that. Probably one of the best sax players of our era(along with Chris Potter). And he has to stand there and just listen to this three note solo just because the guy who plays it is the president.

Great music unites so many different people. It is like a miracle!

I'm impressed, considering how much time he has to practice. It's clear that he takes it seriously, and that he has some technique. And is that a horn he's borrowing from someone? It's REALLY hard to play a horn you're not used to. They're all very different.

Can you imagine as a amateur having to play after and next to Joshua Redman and Jimmy Heath. I've never felt stressed performing really but holy crap would I around those guys.

Bill was the greatest. Far cooler than the cold fish we have in the WH right now. The economy was great, people had jobs and he even played the sax. What more can one ask of a president?

He was considered a top notch tenor sax player when he was in college. He's been practicing his sax more lately from what I've heard. It'd be great if he'd give a concert somewhere, preferably where we could all watch on the Internet! He swings!
