As an Asian kid who watched reruns of the Cosby Show growing up, I wanted to be black so bad because I thought this was the way...although they were considered strict they always spoke to their kids about what they did wrong. And they were always laughing...and I wanted to look like Phylicia Rashad. She has a beautiful smile and beautiful, strong teeth from ear to ear...and had a wonderful, graceful disposition.
I love the Cosby show! Now as a white privilege I feel like I shouldn’t! Can we go back to the days of those times when people who earned by their accomplishments!
you as asian are suffering because your forefather dont stick to the ten commands of the bible that is the reason. You need to repent and read 2 Mose 20 and keep this commands!
What a loving and understanding father! In a documentary about the show, Bill shared how one if his kids asked why he wasn't that way at home, to which Bill answered, "because you don't give me a 23 minute problem!"
I love this show. Notice how he didn't yell or scream at his daughters, even though they were wrong, but it was an accident. This is showing Godly love and he asked to see the report, it doesn't have to be a butt whooping all the time.
That's cause he's dad. My dad only spanked me once my entire childhood. That's only cause my mom was at a church retreat. My mom disciplined the girls, my dad disciplined my brother. He never yelled or spanked us. He left that to my mother.
Cosby definitely gave *our* people the blueprint on raising our children. No excuses why the so called African American family structure are in shambles in the year 2024
I’m sorry but DR. Huxtable raised me in an all black neighborhood & thank god he was there to be the father that i was lacking (my father died of lung cancer) or i would be a bad bad bad bad bad person, I learned how to be more then cruel as a collector for loan sharks i learned how to be “effective” a pair of bolt cutters to the Achilles’ tendon insured that the borrower could still make a living while be spotted as a risk to other loan sharks! But DR Huxtable showed me the way to a better life.
I’m white and at 4;30. After school this show was always there For me while my parents worked. I’m sorry that iam white but me cossby at 4”;30 was my father.
i love how the girls as a group took responsibility and cooked dinner as a way to say forgive us for we understand how important books are to us and our family, education is a privilege andddd no one giggled like the matter was a joke. Much respect for how this was directed. This is why we love this show. It represents ALL families and this one happens to be african american.
I remember seeing Tempestt Bledsoe talk about the show once and she mentioned how the kids and parents constantly talked and communicated and how important that was. It was so different from a lot of other shows where the kids were always smarter than the adults or the parents would just throw up their arms and give up. I thought she was spot on.
Yes, I almost broke my oldest son's legs when he was a baby because of something like this. I told my nephew to take a cup downstairs. I didn't realize there was a little water in it. My nephew tells my 3 yr other nephew to take it. The little one takes it but spills some water on the steps. When I went down, I slipped down the stairs with my son in hand. He nearly hit the landing. I had to switch him in hands, quick.
Vanessa was the problem child she was literally the worst growing up. Denise was the wild child, you couldn't tell Sandra nothing and Rudy was just mischievous. Theo and Vanessa did the most lying
Aqui el lima peru un exito ...todos en cssa 7 pm para ver el show de bill cosbi y su fam. A reir con las ocurrencias de esta digna familia gracias x los videos .. q recuerdos de esos años 86 87.. gracias ..mil veces 4
As a physician, he didn't need those books. He could easily have purchased updated editions. To stay on top of his specialty, he would read peer-reviewed scholarly journals
I doubt it. Rudy didn't know any better. Nobody ever told her expressly not to cut pictures out of books. If she did it again, Claire would have gone off because now she does know better.
Not understanding why people are blaming Vanessa. Yes Rudy was a little kid who takes things literally but Vanessa was only 13. She’s a kid herself. She wasn’t going to be conscious about that like an adult. This is the kinda stuff that sometimes happens when you leave kids in charge of other kids.
That’s like saying “say what you want about him but that Unabomber could build one quality explosive device.” Trivialize much? He’s a convicted multiple rapist but you speak like he was accused of being a bad tipper. So no, it has zero to do with “saying what I want.” It’s a matter of judicial record-of literal fact. He admitted in recorded depositions to deliberately and secretly drugging women with whom he was having business meetings for the express purpose of having sex with him. But you’re right, say what you want, he’s a great man🙄 You know you can like the show without hero worshipping the man. He doesn’t deserve because he is NOT his character. There are many, many women who can attest to this.
I would have been in a lot of trouble if I did that. But then again, the way my parents raised me, I wouldn't have done something like that. I'm not sure I would be so calm if my kid did that. I'm glad I'm not a parent.
vanessa shouldn't have told rudy to do some better pictures without telling her how to do it. where was rudy going to get better pictures? The only way rudy could've gotten better pictures of birds, mammals, reptiles, dinosaurs or whatever else she wanted was to probably request one of her elder siblings to drive her to the public library and there she could get some books and photocopy some pictures of the animals that rudy wanted. That would've been the only way to get the better pictures of the animals
