One of my favorite piano songs of all time. You can definitely tell Bill was inspired by Erik Satie with those slow repetitive descending-ascending basslines spread across a couple octaves. Great cover!
I love Davis and Train and Brubeck, Garland and all the greats but I honestly think Evans was the standout genius of that era. When I think the sound of Jazz its Evans I hear in my head. I may be shot as a heretic for saying so but its a musical hill ill be happy to die on. As always Josh beautifully played.
I thank you so much Josh for doing this piece. I learned it from watching your video and I'm grateful you shared it. From what I've read, Bill played Peace Piece live only once for reasons he explains. You play it so incredibly well, yours and Bill's are my favorite renditions. Beautiful. And since you mentioned requests, I'll toss in my suggestion "We will meet again" (For Harry).
Another stunning rendition, always a smile when you upload something new. I am a dedicated fan of yours and will be sad when your RU-vid videos come to an end one day.
Exactly! Gymnopédies was some of the earliest piano pieces I can remember enjoying, honestly I think my first exposure to it was in the photo mode for Gran Turismo 2 on PS2 🤣 This piece really evokes some of the same feelings
You are actually really good! Would love a cover of street spirit by radiohead, one of their underrated songs! Hope you arent tired of doing them, we love it :))
Badass as always ! You should consider covering some of the new Arctic Monkeys album. I would be very happy to hear your improvisation on Four Out Of Five or Golden Trunks. Anyway, that was awesome. Greetings from France
Do next: Pink Floyd- Coming back to life. That guitar intro spoke right to my heart (and my fingers because I'm a guitarist myself) . I think it's time to be turned into piano language!
