I know...I have seen him 11 times live, met him multiple times as well as his family, been to concerts at his home....he is remarkably humble, gracious and greatly blessed. The best in the world and it's not even close...

David is now 53 years old, and, in my opinion, sounds even better! His version of Whitney Houston's song I Have Nothing is fantastic, and it was recorded when he was 52 yrs old.

Bill and Gloria are pioneers in the Gospel community. This is one of their homecoming concerts. Various gospel singers are in the crowd who are great singers themselves. Bill and Gloria are the founders 9f the Homecoming choirs. They are famous Singers and Songwriters in Gosple music. David is and has been for years a member of the Gaither Vocal Band. The concert is one of Bill and Gloria Gaither's Christmas Homecomings. Every member of the choir are either Legends in Southern Gosple or are new up and coming artists. There was a lot of legendary singers in tthat choir, Eva May LaFever, George Younce, Jake Hess, theve been singung since the 40's and 50's. Anyway David received his vocal training in performance from Baylor university and couldve gone into opera but instead chose gosple.

Bill and Gloria Gaither featurered these Homecoming Series Live Shows that were taped and sold featuring many well know singers in the Gospel World. David is one of most spectacular among them. Bill and Gloria have writen many Christian Contemporary Songs. They have gathered many singers that travel and put these shows on.

David Phelps is a gospel singer, he studied classical singing and opera singing He is the best male voice in my opinion.

David is 52 now, and singing at least as well as he did here. He may be the greatest tenor or even singer alive today. Classically trained at Baylor U, but he’s devoted his life to Christian music. I’ve had the honor of hearing him live and meeting him. He’s kind, funny, and above all, very humble. Oh Holy Night will never be sung as well.

This is a Gaither Homecoming Video from 2000 I believe. Bill and Gloria are a couple that wrote several gospel and Contemporary Christian music songs and brought a lot of very good artists together, travel all over the Country and the World putting on concerts and recording many of them. They are called the Gaither Homecoming Series. Origionally the formed the Gaither Trio, that included Bill, his brother Dan and I believe their sister. Then Gloria, Bill's wife replaced their sister. The Trio went through many changes of artist. Then they started recording as a quartet, again featuring several different artist. They renamed themselves the Gaither Vocal Band. They even became a group of 5, as they presently are. They Homecoming Tour still Records there tours. This Christmas Homecoming was actually a two CD Package and featured many artists. David Phelps was definately the most talented of them all. He still records today. He has a great Barn Studio on his property where several of the artists from the Homecoming Series perform with him. There are many many performances of David as a soloist, duets, as part of the Vocal Band and with his daughter Maggie Beth Phelps. You should try his performance of "No More Night" next. Very powerful !

Bill and Gloria Gaither are southern gospel singers and this was one of their homecoming concerts filmed for DVD. This was filmed in the summer of 2000. They are amazing song writers. Because He Lives, He Touched Me, etc.. Gloria typically writes the lyrics and Bill the music. David was a part of Bills vocal band quartet and he is strictly a solo artist now. He is a Christian artist. He’s never done broadway but he has done a few stage performances. Most recently in the Chicago area. He pulled out his 3rd lung for this performance and being someone who has had the privilege of seeing this man in concert many times perform this live, it transforms you and you walk away a different person. I saw him him Saturday night. Still stunning after 20 years!!

This is the first time I've heard David Phelps and this man can sing. This was 10 years ago and I believe that is Mark Lowry sitting behind him with thesport coat and rwd shirt. Mark was featured in a Voctave video of Mary Did You Know. He is the original writer of that song. I don't know if you have checked that one out yet.

My parents flew the gaithers in to do a concert once on our plane. The have a huge group of people now that gather and do at least one concert every year. David Phelps is a master Christian singer.

They started organizing the Gaither Homecoming Videos and many singers and groups gather to film in different cities and countries. Bill is also a singer in the Gaither Vocal Band.
