@@dmc3079 His rants about the Warren Commission make you realize that if he were still alive today, part of his routine would be a rant about 9/11 and who was truly responsible for the towers collapsing. His narcissism allowed him to believe in a daydream that most of us realize is bullshit by the age of 13: if only everyone was like me, there would be no trouble on the planet..... Bill will always have the deluded, overzealous fans to uphold the illusion that he had prophetic abilities.
maybe 'cause rapists are great storytellers. that's how come most don't get convictions. imagine that. oh wait. that's too difficult for the braindead to fathom.
You know, theres something about suffering that opens the mind. There are situations that we go thru that we cant do anything about, and it forces you to think, hard. And when you come across that situation, have no answers, and cant seem to find a solution, a seed to find out how you could have fixed that situation is planted. And afterwards you continue thinking about it. You run it thru your mind over and over until its burned into your brain. And then one day, you find an answer. I dont know what he went thru, but it must have been hellish to have found so many answers.
@myyoutube7144 - I don't think he hated the world. He saw it for what it is and how people were fucking it up. He was ahead of his time in that aspect.
I still remember the day Kevin announced on the air that Bill had passed away, and I hadn't even heard of his being ill, first time I cried for a celebrity death, such a complete loss. This world is much heavier since your moving on Bill, thanks for suffering through all our nonsense, and keeping it funny. ♥
+Chamberlain Live Shows it's like he's seen truth...he's seen human nature up close...and it used to make him angry and depressed, but now he accepts it and smiles, like a parent does with a child....
Man, if all of that happened to me in 10 years of my life. I would think I had an exciting decade but Bill gets to live all of that in 2 nights. He died young but certainly lived.
there's a video on youtube of ron shock telling this story in a living room not too much longer after it actually happened. look up "ron shock bill hicks" its one of the first few entries, and it's tear inducing hilarious. i cried laughing so hard. and its the full story, with all the details.
The hilarious thing is that Bill hesitated after being asked about the "worst night" of his career. Apparently this horror story had some legitimate competition lol.. just goes to show you the tenacity needed to be a successful comedian, especially one who pushed the edge as much as Bill
Thanks for posting this...show the truth about our country. Show it loudly, welcome to Dick Cheney's America folks...it's worse now, stupider now, more embarrassing now. We need about 100 hundred more. Bill Hicks...R.I.P. THANKS FOR POSTING. 5*****'S ~ Tim
I believe the sadness could mostly be attributed by how deep-set people are in the idea that the world is fine. Bill tried his best to get people to his way of thinking, to open their eyes to certain truths in the world, through comedy. He was a good man, and it really just... sucks that he's gone.
im from Louisiana and that story is without a doubt true as it gets...he painted that picture and it was like a scene going out...lovely.... We love Mr. Hicks!!
Great find! Never seen this before, and it turns out to be one of the funniest Hicks clips I've ever seen. BTW, hope that was the mic Ron was holding at 2:50...
reminds me of a time we did a (metal) gig in rural missouri. we're doing our first set, fights breaking out everywhere, the owner stops the us and the fighting dies down, country girls are all over us, doing beer bongs and having fun when we notice the cowboys are not pleased, we start to play again, the fights break out again, we stop out of concern for our equipment. a guy falls on the stage all bloody after being hit over the head with a beer bottle, our cash from the door is stolen.
Bill Hicks. Credit where it's due; good story-teller, good stage presence, very good timing. No problems there. The added idea that he was some sort of 'philospher' of (more laughably) a 'genius' are proof positive how shallow pop culture is. Good standup. Nothing more.
Man I enjoy listening to his fucking stories. From a human being that did not have the internet growing up and actually knows how to carry a conversation.
"...and then we danced...remember when Tommy threw up and we killed that guy....and THEN....Earl couldn't find his hat. HUU-HUU-HUU!!!" Comedy right on the spot. Must have been one hell of an experience living as Bill Hicks in this world.
@Crazeo0O0o Was in the army w/ a guy from Lake Charles, back in the early '80's. Great guy & great shot. His stories of his cajun country home comport with Bill's. I believe Bill's story. I think, that, like many people on the road constantly, after awhile, it all runs together. He's lucky, that he at least got the right state!
I dealt with my first bout of racism towards me when my husband and I got together in Texas. He's from India and when I was looking for an apartment this landlady wouldn't even talk to him, only to me. She gave him evil looks as well as ignored him when he talked to her. He's gotten some evil looks in Minnesota too. I'm just sick of the ignorant shit people do. My husband hasn't hurt anybody so why do they give a shit?
Man, this guy sure went through the goods and bads of stand up. I have so much more respect for Bill Hicks after seeing this video. I'm sure all comedians have had to deal with hecklers, but this shit is for real.
That always astounds me. Bill is revered in the UK in a way that his home country wouldn’t, even now. I don’t know if that says more about you or about us. 😓
what great is im reading agent of evolution (kevin booth's book on Bill) and the internet allows me to see various moments in the book straight from Bills mouth, god bless the internet
"that was night one." oh fuck. i didn't think anything could top Hicks getting his ribs broken by two Vietnam vets, yet here we are. simply incredible.
