🤦🏽‍♀️This IS discussed at my kitchen table and with most family members and I’m black. It’s unbelievable what’s going on with our young black men and kids. The killing, robberies, carjackings and assaults here in St. Louis is mind blowing. Politicians couldn’t care less what’s happening in our neighborhoods and Democrats just ignore anything they can’t use for political GAIN. Yes, they do!! I’m not stupid. I just had a conversation about this with my 25 year old son and we were both just shaking our head.

In 1996 we took two bus loads of sixth graders to Chicago for two nights on the town. We lived in the suburbs of Detroit. On that trip we safely walked the waterfront of Chicago with over 60 kids. I was so envious. We could never do this in Detroit. Now we cannot do this in Detroit or Chicago. So sad. I’m so sad. 😢 😭

The analogy between Chicago today and Detroit thirty years ago is excellent. I last visited Chicago five years ago and stayed at a deluxe downtown hotel. I remember telling the staff at the front desk that my visit was my last because I could see that the city was only going to get worse. They were very concerned because I was considered their prime customer.

I'm actually staying, at the moment, in a mid-tier hotel in downtown Chicago. It should have all the amenities you would expect, open restaurant, maid services, shuttle, but they've shut it down. The number of guests also seems to be small. It does have a strange feel about it. I think Chicago is starting to rot from the inside out, and it's not completely obvious yet.

This is one of the biggest reasons why I admire Bill Maher compared to most of the other late night hosts. He actually does talk about actual things that matter outside and inside politics and also isn't afraid to speak against republican issues and democratic issues. Because the cities make a lot of money enslaving black men. Prisoners make a lot of our everyday utensils and around 60% of military equipment. They let criminals run wild, we get guns young to protect ourselves and then everything turns into the Wild West because someone got killed for something stupid and it turns into a game of revenge in between friend groups and communities. Part of the problem is the violence is spilling out of the typical "bad neighborhoods" into big city downtowns, places where many tourists congregate. I don't feel violence is acceptable anywhere, but what's happening now is going to take down our great cities unless there's a serious crackdown.
