He was great in this. Probably Bill Pullman's best performance. Totally captured the vibe of a tortured man. Very dark.

Agreed. I thought Pullman was kinda a goofy actor that couldnt pull something like this off. I was wrong. His best movie by far.

I am in LOVE with his voice. I first noticed him in "Spaceballs" (in the late '80s I think?) and then I saw his excellent portrayal of a hard working, kind and loyal man desperately in love with an unavailable woman in the rom-com "While You Were Sleeping" (mid 90s) His acting was impeccable. Those type of movies can sometimes (or most of the time? 🤔) be very surface-level in terms of the characters' emotional depth. Very PG in terms of intimacy because the intent is for the film to be lighthearted and full of comedic elements. Bill surpassed that stereotype by making that romantic comedy's role as the leading man be deeply convincing and I, the viewer, saw exactly what a great guy falling in love with a woman he can't pursue looks like. Ah, he was so great in that movie. 27 years after I first saw it, I still place that movie in my (very unofficial 😇) "Top Twenty Movies Ever" list. And Bill's acting is 95% of the reason it's on there.
