Your design is very nice. I like your wash down hose option. We've been making home made live wells too (for forty years now). Being that tall and with your can larger at the top it will make it top heavy which means it must really be solidly secured to keep from tipping. Also, having your overflow drain so near the lid, in any chop you will have continual slosh and overflow into the boat. Plastic drums work exceptionally well, last longer and are less expensive if you have to buy them. They can be cut down to any height and the the top of the drum makes a great lid.
Very cool design. Something that I thought is brilliant that I will have to incorporate on my rig is how you can shut the water flow off to your livewell and use the water as a hose to wash the boat out. What size bilge are you running and how is the hose pressure? I want to get something like a 360-500 so it pulls little amps and can continuously overflow the livewell but has enough pressure to clean boat. Thanks and keep up the cool ideas!
Watched this video last night and totally copied your design. I built a 20 gallon replica in about an hour and already tests to perfection. Best part about your design is that if I decide to use a bigger drum, I just increase the pvc length along the well and I'm golden.. great engineering 👍🏄🏼
Can you list alllll the supplies (ie diameter of piping, etc) required to make this bait tank please?! I would like to build one very similar/identical to this one. I’d realllllly appreciate it
I want to make a 20 gal. version just like this. Does anybody have a parts list for all the connectors? I wish he would have listed all the particular connections and what size pvc he used. looks like 1/2"
Good job there. you only have one mistake. And you probably already realized that Because it's already been 3 years. Life bait tanks have to drain from the bottom. And the reason for that is to keep your tank clean. When it's running.
