About the Haru thing. It's because Legoshi is a wolf. There's a whole stigma thing about carnivore-herbivore relationships. If I had to guess, it's probably a constellation of Legoshi being in a weird place where he wants to be the quiet kid who stays out of the spotlight, but he supposedly broke one of society's biggest taboos, so going back to his typical act is kinda weird as people "know" he's a weirdo for supposedly breaking that massive taboo. It's an issue because then that makes it seem like 1, he doesn't really care about that social convention as he tries to go back to normal and act like nothing happened (which has larger implications in their world) and 2, an extension of such, if people believe he fucked Haru rumors can mutate. Maybe people start rumors that not only is Legoshi into herbivores (again already a stigma), but he might be into small, "helpless" herbivores. No one really wants to associate with that especially with a potentially subconscious association of him with predatory behavior. At minimum, Legoshi looks like a creep for fucking a tiny rabbit when he's a giant wolf. Are there potentially rumors that things were coerced especially as he's not popular and rumors can be started for fun...yeah? But again, it's mostly the stigma thing
@@sleeplessness-I think that’s exactly right. I think the story is supposed to comment on how society treats interracial relationships. It has made me think about how I’m not fully accepting of interracial relationships, and I assume it has made many others consider that as well.
Bill seems like one of the most lifelike American High School Dudes I've ever seen in fiction. Cocky, masking insecurity. Brash, curious, loud, and trying to figure out just wtf he wants from life.
Here's my "Not a doctor" psycho-analysis of Bill. Bill puts on a front of being an 'alpha male' while in reality, he has some major insecurities. We see that because Bill admits he's a jerk when Louis leaves school - Louis knew how to keep Bill in check. Bill faces a lot of pressure as he's looked up to for his size and strength, but tigers are naturally solitary animals. He wants validation and when he can't get it, he picks on others: Legoshi specifically, because he's an easy target. Obviously, the whole dog/cat being natural rivals angle plays into effect as well. He's also the stereotypical 'curious cat' wanting to know more about inter-species relationships as it's been hinted he may have feelings for Els: "I'd totally hit that [if she were a tigress]."
Or is it that anyone under the age of 25 can't differentiate between pressing boundaries, testing friendships, weighing bridges and sexual tension? Like " Omg he knows my name, this must be butt love "
Ngl if Legoshi didn't go full "Chivalrous knight in shining armor on a white stallion" mode when talking about his virginity he might've made a point. Oh well, guess that's a side effect of being part of a drama club.
