Years later I still get choked up watching these Jeter videos. I grew up idolizing him. I was just 7 years old when he was drafted. I was 12 at my first Yankee game when I got his autograph. I followed his career all the way to the end. His memorabilia along with other yankee greats decorate my home office. He will always be our captain. Thanks #2.
You all probably dont care at all but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Emmett Musa Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I’m almost the same age as Jeter and I feel like I watched Jeter play my entire life and as much I love the Yankees is never been the same for me, when he retired a part of me left with him!
I'm a Jays fan, but I'm in awe of Jeter. He was always a classy hard playing Guy. Never a self centred player like others. I'll miss watching him. Nice tribute Billy.
@@alwillk he had earned that. And it gave em best 3rd basemen in mlb and a all star shortstop still. The man has 5 rings. Countless playoff moments in victory and defeat. I wudnt move either. 6th most hits. 5 rings. Played 1 position for 20 years. Not one peep of trouble. Certainly no kissing himself in the mirror pictures. As a mets fan. Bro i hate jeter. But i hate how accountable he is always. Whether in defeat or loss. U can hang ur hat on the efforts made by him to win. And how he went about it
Derek was my favorite baseball player of all time. Sure there were more iconic legends but he is the genuine article. He was a man who a child can hope to emulate! He was a player in my time. There was the Babe, but Derek was the best during the past 20 years. He will be missed. He excelled the whole time.
Nobama Gone, my favorite aspect about Derek Jeter is his ultra-high integrity level on, and odd, a baseball field. Rachel Robinson's approval is more valuable than any award. She liked him as a person in-general and she wasn't wrong.
So this is what it sounds like when GOATs talk about GOATs and this Billy GOAT has spoken about some of the Greatest GOATs of all time. Rumble GOAT man Rumble. A true class in everything he has done that I have ever seen.
Oh my captain. We sill love and miss you. As a baby coming home swaddled in a Yankees blanket to Woodlawn, Bronx. You're the best of my life. Thank you.
I did not cry when he retired but I knew this might be the last time in my lifetime that I see a team with players like Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettite all home grown players dominate the baseball world. I will never see it again and so far I was right.
I am willing to go out on a limb and say this. I grew up in the greatest era of sports. I grew up with super stars of the 80's the 90s and early 00's I got to watch the likes of Peyton Manning, Wayne Gretzky, Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan to name a small fraction of the amazing athletes in my time and so the rest is gravy, whom ever comes now is just a bonus, but I will always cherish these years.
My brother stole my DJ glove and brought it to Texas... my Dad made him send it back... i cried and hugged the glove slept with it under my pillow! Thank you
Glad the lockout's over and can't wait for the regular season to start. Had to watch this again for about the billionth time. O's fan here, but damn I loved watching The Captain play
One Of The Great Baseball Player That Play For The Yankees For Twenty Season. The Captain Will Be Miss. Fonamenal Player All Around. May God Bless Forever.🙏👌⚾️🏆
Derek Jeter is a total class act. Fabulous athlete , incredible leader , Hits, one of the top clutch hitters ever . 1995- 2000 Yankees we're special ! He's one of top greatest Yankees Just like Dimaggio , Mantle , Whitey , Yogi , one of a kind ! Thanks Derek !! 🙋♂️👍⚾️🏆👏
He truly was the best and he was the definition of baseball He gave us his all every game from start to finish He is a role model if there ever was one. He was admired by all especially me I miss him not playing but I thank him in the same breath for giving me so much enjoyment all those years! Love you Jeter #2.💜💝
So true Billy, you are also in my memory an MVP of comedy, so natural , so good at your craft while being a real person...beautiful tribute to the GOAT #2_ from one of the best of all time ! Billy there was something in the air or water of the Bronx Brooklyn Queens the from to 40s , 50s, 60's 70s that was true and good that WE ALL recognize! I miss seeing you regularly perfecting your craft, your story telling skills, timing and good nature , I will never forget!
Man I miss the late 90s and early 2000’s Yankee teams with derek Jeter . Paul O’Neill , Andy Pettitte Clemens and Bernie Williams among with others they were really the heart of New York at the time even tho I’m from jersey city I was a big New York sports fan
Every team has a hero. Boston had David Ortiz. Yes there are some Red Sox fans that dislike the Yankees but still show respect for certain players and number 2 was one of them. So let's raise our glass and honor him. Thank you for all the great times in Boston and New York.
I didn't see the flip. Or the 81 from Kobe. But I for damn sure saw both their last games and I will forever cherish those two men for what they meant to my generation
Not even close, he was a great post season player stacked on a team with great players, but the guy never won a MVP award? If he played for the Astros or the Pirates, he'd be traded to NY or BOS halfway through his career, he's about the 6th or 7th best Yankee ever, GTFOH
All those great players with big time numbers and this guy can do this or that but when you need it the most in the toughest spot just give me number 2
Even when the greats lost a step or 2. Babe will still be Babe. Lou, will still be Lou, Joe, will still be Joe, Yogi, will still be Yogi, Mickey, will still be Mickey, and of course...Derek, will still be Derek. Greatness.
Baseball may have diminished in popularity over the years, but it's still a grand game...and players like Jeter, make it that way. I miss watching the kid play..and I remember Maris and Mantle, when I was a kid, and I'd put Jeter right up there with them, Let Alone Gehrig and Ruth..Jeter classed the game...and he will be missed...
One of the best Yankee team was 1998, I thought the 2022 Yankees was going to be another great team, that’s not going to happen. Yankees brace for big disappointment in the next 2-4 weeks
This hit had zero meaning to anything only Jeters ego. The Yankees were eliminated. Actually 2 games before with Yankees hanging onto playoff hopes the great Jeter struck out. And that at bat mattered
Yeah Billy is a big Yankees fan but he is still just a shill Hollywood liberal that only got to walk the field cause he sucked up to Steinbrenner. Derek was just nice to him cause that's who Derek is: a nice guy and also a very devout Catholic. He does the same thing for everyone he meets. I'm sure he was not in agreement with Billy getting all political during the election. Derek is smart and knows it isn't wise to piss off half your fanbase even after retirement cause you never know when you will need to call on them again for a future career move. Sometimes you are better off staying silent and stoic and leave the commentary to the pundits. Derek never ran his mouth or talked trash about politics or anything else. Especially not at a funeral like Billy did at Ali's.
