When I see the dogs hanging out and relaxing and I think back when they were abandoned and struggling and near death. My heart soars seeing them living their very best lives. Thank you, Lester and Jami, what a blessing. I know that heart aches have shown up on your doorstep and there has been tear a plenty, but what a blessing to watch the love being shared all the time.
Annie's truly at peace at LHL'S. I'm not sure if I have ever seen her fully rest like that at the Sanctuary. And to think that we were all so concerned about her moving. The yard and "porch" area always looks so beautiful. You can see just how much work the two of you have put into it. Love seeing Ringo active and showing everyone that he's still in charge. Prayers that Tat's eye will heal soon. ❤
Ringo is still showing them he will dominate when he wants to! 😁 And, "Annie's not dead. She's just enjoying the sun." 😂 Omgosh, those two things made me pause to write this first thing. Whichever ostrich was out roaming was just beautiful! Her feather look so soft.

I love seeing Ringie, Trudy and pig co, Annie and Indie and the donkeys and Tina’s pretty dress! The LHL newbies really do seem happier, if not a reprieve with the shade and waters and nutrients DADDY Wester and more that property has to offer. I’m so happy it’s become an ISS extension! What a blessing.
Your ostrich in your way during mowing is like my dog while I'm vacuuming. They ignore us and they'll get up when they are good and ready. And when they do move, they find a new spot to be in your way and the process repeats.

Maybe Jami should make it her next garden project. She doesn't have a shade garden . Hostas are good in shade and would help with water shed or maybe short evergreen plants for shade. I keep cactus in the house where there's no sun and had them in California when I lived there in shady areas and some succulents work in shade just need to research it. If she needs I would be glad to help out researching it for her
Good afternoon Lester. Mable was having such a great time exploring, and running. Ringo feeling his oats again and trying to be the big billy goat that he is/was. He holds up to Lenny and Chip. Be careful if you start a leaf fire that it doesn't take off towards your fences along the hill. Chris may be after you if you don't. Thanks for sharing HAGD.
Lester, Those shrubs/bushes have roots, roots help stop erosion. Some things out in nature aren't always beautiful but they can still serve a great purpose.

Lester, some of those bushes look like Azaleas. However, even if they are spring or fall bloomers, they should be covered in green leaves 🍃. Some varieties of Azalea bloom in spring and fall. Other bushes in that line look like a kind of hedge bush. Some hedges are very aggressive and root anywhere they touch the ground. Jami once had a plant i.d. app on her phone that might be useful. those areas you will be cutting could be what stops some of the erosion over the hillside there. Maybe that is why the previous owners planted there? Who knows, time will tell. So sorry you all are having such and awful time with all the rain, after 2 years of drought. Its wonderful how you keep such a positive attitude. Sending prayers.

Hi Lester, the area along the fence looks better. Do not burn that area to get the leaves out. You will have to take them out slowly I'm afraid. It is worth it in the long run. Let Jami know about it, maybe it's something she can work on. This is exactly the kind of rush you need to plant to stop all of your erosion issues. If you can plant this stuff in high volume up higher where the water runs down from, it might help. Somehow you need to stop the water from coming rushing down into your yard in the first place. The issue is coming from higher up I feel. Did you clear cut all the brush that holds the water back up there ? You need plants to stop erosion like these on the hill for the garden of eaten 😊. These plants you have here , have great roots that branch out and hold the dirt really well 😊.might identify them and have Jami pick up several to plant on the hillside. Have a wonderful day Lester.
