Who would’ve thought 25 years later from being in DX that Billy Gunn would be so over again in the Acclaimed. Also it’s INSANE that he’s 60 is so shredded 💪
Imagine one of your childhood heroes tell you to your face that you always meant something to him. Damn. A reflection of passion, Chris! You deserve your flowers man!
Man, Billy GUnn around 45:00- 51:00 talking about addiction and the aftermath of it really hit home as a recovering addict of 18 years myself . He really hit the nail on the head.
@fattdamon1980 you'll get there. It's weird, you eventually reach this point where it's not even something you think about anymore. Or at least I did. Good luck tho, you got this
@@fattdamon1980 that's so awesome to hear. For myself personally it wasn't until after around 5 years it was like Billy said I think about it but it is not overwhelming anymore and I can just move on with my day. and if it does get overwhelming I do what I know what will help me out of the moment I'm in. Stay strong and try to remember if even anyone doesn't say it : You are worth it and deserve only the best.
I am a recovering addict of 7 years. Have not touched a pill since 6/15/17 and I will always be considered an addict. I have no desire or plans to use ever again but all it takes is one. Congrats Billy, I’ve been a fan for years. Happy to see what you are doing with your boys even if it is in AEW.
@@jd9119you still have to put in the work & workout regularly. Just because you take it doesn't mean you'll magically grow muscles & shred fat with no action involved besides a needle in the butt cheek.
Billy Gunn a.k.a Mr.Ass was my favorite DX member and a highly underrated wrestler. I wish WWE would've pushed him properly and didn't have The Rock bury him
Billy seems like such a good human, never lets the fame get to his head. Loves his business and is very passionate about the people and the things around him. These AEW younger kids are so lucky to have the availability to interact with him on a daily basis.
Was lucky enought to see Billy Gun at a local even in Charlotte for a promotion that ended up feeding a lot of AEW guys... Billy Gun was amazing to see live. He was one of the few people I will have to say looks wayyyyy bigger in person then he does on TV. Dude is YUGE
Every chance I get to catch a Billy Gunn interview I'm always on it. I seriously think he goes to bed with a smile on his face. And he wakes up with the same smile on his face. He's just a love and life
Bad ass is so underrated by older fans. I think he is more appreciated by the newer gen but back in the day I always watched his matches because I thought him and Road Dogg had a really good dynamic and even when he went solo you knew his matches were gonna be good.
I was fortunate enough to meet Billy many years ago. The guy was so nice to me, really friendly. He has a great sense of humor. He suggested as I loved the Outlaws so much we do the Outlaws intro. It was pretty amazing playing Road Dogg for a few minutes and getting to do that intro with Billy himself. Thank you, Billy, for a wonderful memory.
Billy Gunn has so much knowledge to give to the future generations of pro wrestlers. His positive attitude is infectious and he seems to be great at elevating younger talent.
I think Billy might be my favourite of the people you've interviewed, he seems like real good dude. His ability to let go and enjoy things, his overall outlook on life, his work ethic. This is how people should aspire to view the world around them.
No it's Billy Gunn goin from smokin guns to the acclaimed it's crazy over 25 years later he looks AWESOME for 60 but like Billy said it's only a number age is just a number as long as U can do it U got it thanks for the interview Chris n Billy
34:25 leads into the best segment of this interview, in my opinion, which is BG’s road to recovery from addiction and the program he works to remain sober. A lot of famous people use “recovery stories” as part of some fake means to elicit an appeal to emotion fallacy that’s completely self-serving, which is the opposite of what a person in recovery should be doing, but BG is 100% genuine.
ASS FOR MR ASS WNNING KING OF THE RING 1999; Billy trips over the timeline. Hunter was supposed to get KOR 1996 but was "shit on" due to KLIQ Curtain Call Stone Cold got the KOR 1996 crown coining the infamous AUSTIN 3:16 Hunter got the KOR 1997 crown. Ken Shamrock KOR 1998 MR ASS gets KOR 1999 crown but ROCK mocks Billy's crown into obscurity. MR ASS should have furthered his heel run ROYAL ASSHO's ----------------- KINGDOM GUNN KING ASS courts ROYAL ASSHO's (Godfather - Val Venis - Mark Henry) KINGDOM GUNN declares *SIR ROYALTY* *THY SIR* LORDFATHER *MR SIR* Valiant Venis *THE CHOCOLATE SIR* Mark Henry
Daddy Ass Billy Gunn, in my opinion is such a positive Male role model. A peek example of positive masculinity dude is happy as Larry, wears his heart on his sleeve, is not afraid to be a little silly or flamboyant. And he hasn't let old age slow him down. if anything he punched father time in the face, told him to suck it, and then gave it the Famouser.
Dude We need an interview of Scott Steiner And you have to ask him why he had so much hatred for fat people Be a dope interview haha Most likely he probably doesn’t but had a TNA deal where he just goes off on Bully and Samoa Joe for being fat hahaha
Just recently found this channel. Awesome job, great channel. And by the way to hell with the idiots in mommy's basement who's only thing in life I to sit on a bean bag sweating eating cheetos and talk trash about people while they never do anything in life
I met Billy at the convention in Philly a few months ago . What a down to earth awesome dude ! He was definitely my highlight of that show .. bad ass Billy Gunn is one of my favs.
I've been watching Billy for most of my life and I'm currently enjoying him in AEW. It's so interesting listening to him talk about life, and being so open about his addiction.
Chris you are on such a tear lately. This is the best work of your career. Every one of these interviews have been some of the best wrestling content I’ve ever seen. I dunno what it is, but you’ve unlocked something lately
Billy wearing those bracelets is such a nice touch. Dude seems so genuine and real. Also love everything Chris does, just a fantastic interview all around.
I love the sentiment from the attitude era guys that, ultimately, they wanted to be remembered for being "good hands." Someone you can put out there with anyone and get a good match.
Watched an episode of raw from 1997. Billy is the only one from them that's still active. HHH road dogg Shawn taker Austin JBL Ron Simmons and freaking Bill gunn!!
Gorilla Monsoon is dead almost 25 years ago and he was 62 not 60 so how can you say Billy Gunn has his same physique? Chris Van Vliet. Physique not always mattered in wrestling and Scott Steiner and Chris Masters are the proof, "I've done everything" you've been and still 🤡 especially in DX and Mr. Ass's name is the proof and like if it wasn't enough you joined The Acclaimed and their wave ✂️. Congratulations to be the older tag team champion at 50 years and 86 days and becoming at the Royal Rumble which is 1 of the Big 4. Buffon's son is really alike his dad, Daniel Benoit looked alike his dad. Speaking of longevity Buffon retired at 45 and ½ and in ⚽️ is too long especially if in 29 years 20 are high level with the 🍰 the World Cup in 2006 but Neuer 🐐keeper, 🇩🇪, overcame him
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Degeneration X proudly brings to you the WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WORRRRLLLLD!!! The Road Dogg Jesse James..The Bad Ass Billy Gunn..The New..Age..Outlaws!......and if you're not down with that, I've got TWO WORDS FOR YA!!...
There is regret, which, the way I see it, is a negative vibrational frequency. It's always bemoaning the past and making something about yourself. Remorse, on the other hand, is acknowledging your mistakes and bringing a dimension of acceptance and non-judgemental love into your actions in hindsight. You can feel for the pain your actions caused both yourself and those around you, but still acknowledge that such behavior was due to ignorance and pain. You take responsibility, but you don't rag on yourself. Billy Gunn probably feels remorse for his actions that have led to pain, but Im sure he's found a way to show himself grace so that he can learn from his mistakes. I'm happy that he doesnt regret his past.
WWE should revive the Billy & Chuck team, but this time with 3 guys (or more) and with Billy Gunn being the boss of the faction, and with RAW going to Netflix soon, the Billy & Chuck thing could very well make for a great storyline again as it once did. Even better
My dad showed me wwf when I was able to walk, we had all the ppv and collection DVDs. But he showed me dx very young and the new age outlaws always stuck out to me I loved Billy’s charisma and Dogg’s style. Then when I got older I became a Dolph Ziegler fan and you can’t tell me Dolph isn’t a younger and maybe better version of Gunn
I understand why Billy says that fans can be too serious. Some can get upset over everything, but at the same time there is an ongoing misunderstand between fans and some wrestlers, of what is ment with "serious". There is space for humor and folling around. However yo ucan get upset if something gets tool silly for no reason. Or if it looks like the company messes up the character or the storyline. I know that some wrestlers don't care, like maybe Billy Gun, as long as it seem fun to him and he gets payed. Fans will never know as much about wrestling as a wrestler, even more someone who has worked that many years as Billy Gun.But they can tell very well what they like and what they don't like. It's the same why fans are upset with some moviews, shows or video games. If there is an oroginal story or if it's conntected with childhood memory and the showrunners screw with that, you can expect that the fans will get vocal about it. And to say "well it's just entertainment, why are you so serious about it?" Well it's because fans want to enjoy it and it gets spoiled. And even more if there was already money payed for it. It's like someone poop on agreat meal you have in front of you and pretending to wipe the crap away will make it enjoyable again.
Chris, your interviews are pretty good but here's a suggestion that I think will make it much better. When you guys were talking about Billy's guest appearance on Sabrina or the meme of Billy next to Gorilla, you should really add during the interview (when editing) , to show the pics, or play a clip of a video thst you guts are talking about do we dnt have to pause or stop the interview and Google to find what is being talked about. I mean during editing to crop things like that in there I'm certain will make it way better
To be fair. Those bracelets were originally first, a Raver thing. They're originally called Kandi Bracelets. I remember giving one to Sami Zayn and a few other wrestlers at some ComicCon. Nothing to originally do with Taylor Swift.
Should’ve asked him about the infamous “jerk a knot in your ASS” promo he cut on Shawn 😂 I love Billy. He seems like such a great guy. Would love to see him back in WWE at some point along with his sons.
I never respected Billy back in the day during DX. I always felt he and Road Dog were just there to take up space. Wow I really REALLY fucked up. This dude is super cool!
“Cause I’m An Assman” is a hit. That song is one of the best any wrestler has ever used. Gunn looks amazing. Looks like he could pull 35-40 year old chicks all day long.
Holy sh!t this Interview was boring as hell. No disrespect to either man I usually love their content but Christ did everything sound like an infomercial or something. I kept thinking "man would you just get to the point" or "wow this is somehow a boring answer to an interesting topic"
Billy is a good ass guy or a good "assman" huh see what I did there?!?! But seriously the way he compliments CVV at the beginning of the interview and says you were always something to me, was very kind and seemed very genuine
His sons weren't allowed? And they're this good? Dont get ke wrong they're not God's gift to tag team wrestling. But they are great. And if they were allowed to a younger age, they'd probably be light years better. 💪
Billy did a really long "Tony is why I couldn't go to the RAW celebration and see my friends like I wanted, but I don't want to say it's because of him since he's my boss"
Met him in Atlanta Airport in 2022 AEW. Rode the escalator with Jake Hager was quiet and seemed annoyed. Billy was super nice. Chatted for a few minutes
You mentioned it briefly, but yea, you definitely gotta get Rico on the show, dude. I loved him for the time he was in WWE when I first started watching.
