Rebel Yell was huge, it was everywhere, it played throughout the entire 80s, no soul could escape it. Please listen to: Sweet 16 (1986) I Don't Need A Gun (1986) Mony Mony (1987) Cradle Of Love (1990) Adam In Chains (1993) and so many more gems by him. He was one of the GREATS in the 80s!!!
Bizzzzzzzz! HELL YES, REBEL YELL! You started off slow, I was worried, but Billy Idol got you smiling BIG & doing the fist bumps by the 2nd chorus! All you have to do is that arm motion & everyone knows that's Billy's move & you nailed it! 🤣 I loved seeing you do it. His songs are bangers & were meant to be remixed for dance clubs. They always built in that 32 bar bridge you heard so it could be experimented with. In this song it's where it slowed down & he sang so sexy "I walk the world or you, baby....a thousand miles, for you.....etc" Guess where they got the name? Billy & Steve had the song kinda down - the riffs, the concept... but lyrics were still not there. Billy went to a birthday party for (Tommy something...can't remember, some famous guy) and they were drinking a bottle of alcohol called "REBEL YELL". Boom! The lyrics came flowing. I'm so glad you mentioned the guitartist. Man oh man... Steve Stevens. This guy is one cool guy. The beginning bars of his solo were straight Chuck Berry. It was his nod to the greats. The weird sound in the solo that sounds like 2 electric hairdryers (for lack of a better description) is actually a toy laser gun he had collected. He co wrote a lot of Billy's music. He really knew how to put together a song that was a Billy Idol Banger. If you wanna see Steve tell you how he put Rebel Yell together I'll put the link below. Check out how cool he is. Professor of Rock is a bad ass channel for ALL music lovers. I adore the host. Next up!! Let's have some FUN!! - "Dancing With Myself" (super fun dance song! You better get outta that chair! It gets stuck in your head it's so catchy.) - "White Wedding" (amazing song but the video you might be like 😳. It's a MUST do. Classic Billy.) - "Mony Mony" (super fun dance song. If you react to it I'll tell you the secret line in the chorus EVERYONE added to the song & sang out in the clubs. 🤣)
Nothing wrong with having a little fun, especially when it's about '80's fashion, it was RIDICULOUS. I was a teen in the '80's, so I can say that!!! Spiked and/or "Big hair".... I make no excuses for it, I was part of it too! Billy though, this guy was and still is really good. You should check out, (on your own time ;) Billy and, of all people, Miley Cyrus performing this song at iHeartRadio Awards 2016.... It was surprisingly friggin good!! They both rocked it and Billy was nearly 60 years old!! He DOESN'T look it either. Anyway, IMO, you can poke fun.... just give credit where credit is due on the musical/vocal level. ***Personally, I think it's hysterical when you laugh and poke fun..... a few times, the look of torture on your face was even funnier!!!! :) Keep it real Biz!! ***Suggest: "White Wedding", "Cradle Of Love", "Mony Mony" for more Billy Idol***
OK I've been singing the wrong words for this song. I finally looked them up. When I read as long as it doesn't mess up his hair. I almost spit up my 🍷 almost 😆
His voice is going. In recent live performances he’s singing some songs way out of tune (like Rebel Yell), like pretty bad. I don’t know why they don’t just drop the key down to where he can sing it.
Hahahaha yeah, the 80’s can definitely keep their styles & just let us keep most everything else!!! 😂 Another great review 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 And the only other Billy Idol song I know/like is White Wedding .... I think 🤷♀️ 💞
Brother Biz! Sorry I've been out of the game for a bit and missed out on a few reviews, but the scrubs said I was good, so now I'm back and playing catch up. PEACE!!!!!
I saw an interview with Billy Idol and he made the statement that the song is not about a woman but about the USA and how much he loved the country. Even though he was born in Britain, his parents moved to New York when he was growing up before his parents moved back to Britain. He couldn't wait to move back to New York.
It was the 80’s MTV had musicians trying to out-do the other bands stupid outfits! This song is more Billy Idol’s speed. “Eyes Without A Face” was the obligatory slow song, every act had to crank out, in that era.
The 80's were more than just a decade, it was the Best time of my Life! Check out "Forgot to be a Lover" Killer piano! 🎧😎 BTW His clothes were 80's! I'd like to see you on that stage wearing what you got on!
Funny story ,if you watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer then you know they said that Billy Idol stole his look from Spike since Spike was in the London and New York punk scene in the late 70’s /early 80’s
The jacket Billy is wearing is a cut version of MJ’s jackets at that time😂 We dressed differently 40 years ago. Steve Stevens also played on the Top Gun anthem
Eyes Without A Face was a song about a serial killer riding a bus looking for his next victim while nobody on the bus gave him a second glance. Reputably one of the favourite songs of serial killer Richard Ramirez, also known as The Night Stalker.
Singer William Michael Albert Broad aka Billy Idol and Guitarist Steven Bruce Schneider aka Steve Stevens are a power songwriting and performance duo who are still active today and better than ever.
I like the style of the clothing in the 80s way better than what I see people wearing today . I can't stand seeing people with their pants sagging and what's up with the green and blue hair ? LOL
High BIZZY, only just seen your reactions, so i am a newbee, to your tubee videos. so just to say great reaction mate to Billy Idol, great catchy song that is brilliant when seen live in a concert. There are a lot of people saying this was wrote because Billy done this and that all to do with booze, he became very famous too soon. As you do its Booze. Great Man though as you know now. Very kind Regards From GB, England, BIRMINGHAM, Peaky Blinders Country.
I wouldn't say their clothes were ridiculous for the 80s. I'd say their hair and clothes were outrageous..... as was their music. There was a lot of freedom and wildness in the 80s. They rocked. Saw them in concert. They were fantastic.
You always get to the heart of the matter. It's pretty astounding. For a person with such a limited history with music it is cool. I watch a lot if reacters and you might be the best. There is this young black guy that's chasing your ass. 😎
Hahaha, dude your reactions crack me up man. I mean, nothing wrong with a few playful jabs. Hell, I’ve heard Billy Idol himself laugh at some of the 80s stuff. During a concert, they played Cradle of Love (pretty cool song) and instead of saying “it’s easy, it’s so easy”, he was like “it’s cheesy… this song is so cheesy”. Shit was hilarious. But yeah, Rebel Yell is classic.
I used to rock with this song when it first came out. I actually had a girl like that and I thought I was the MAN till I heard a female disc jocky say " you know if had did right the first time she wouldn't have needed anymore " yeah popped my balloon 😳✌️♥️
The guitarist held his toy sci-fi ray gun up to the guitar pickups to get those effects in the solo(never been done before). He's so underrated it's criminal.
