Billy Idol is definitely an icon and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year. Well deserved and he's still rocking out to this day 🤘🏼
"NEVER heard the song??? 👀 DIVORCE" 🤣🤣🙈 That was so funny, love this little jokes between you two 😉😅👍🏻 But I'm surprised, how could you go without hearing this song Andrei? 😱 It was all over the place in the 80s 👍🏻 First Rammstein and now Billy Idol, best reactions 🥳🥳 "White Wedding" is also a cool one from him 👍🏻
I don't consider Billy Idol, and this band, with Steve Stevens on guitar, as "Punk Rock". It's definitely in the category of "New Wave". Now his previous band, "Generation X", was Punk.
Andrei you actually nailed it. Unbelievable! Steve Stephens (guitarist) collects old toys. He went to a shop and they had one of those classic guns that made that laser sound. He used it on this track. I'm amazed you caught it. I watch Professor of Rock. It's hands down one of the best You Tube channels. He talks to the artists to share about the songs. Type in "Professor of Rock Rebel Yell" & watch. You'll be hooked. My favorite is when he broke down "Hotel California".
Not only is he still touring, but, he's still making music. He put out a full album in 2014 called Kings and Queens of the Underground. The whole album is an introspective masterpiece looking at his past. He has released a number of EPs since, but recently, he released a song called "Cage" you should check out. It's pretty damned awesome. Off the 2014 album, I'd recommend "Save Me Now," "Can't Break Me Down," "Ghosts in My Guitar," "Kings and Queens of the Underground," "Postcards from the Past," "Nothing to Fear," and "One Breath Away." And before anyone calls me out, I know that's nearly the whole album...that's just how amazing the whole album is...hard to pick just a few great songs...
He took a lot from Elvis, with the raising of one side of the lips, and the deep sexual voice and energy. Billy also used to be a punk rocker from England, so he still has that look.
This song was inspired by Billy Idol being in New York City drinking at a bar with The Rolling Stones and they were drinking Rebel Yell whiskey which is a famous American whiskey brand but Billy Idol being from England and recent to the US had never head of it so after drinking he went to his hotel room and wrote this song
I don't know if he loves it as much she does, but he certainly loves her and so tries to connect to it. The hilarious part comes when he's attempting to do his best and says, Billy Idol "reminds me of that character from Street Fighter." Now it happens to be that right at that time I paused it to go get a drink just as he finishes and she looks up at the camera. It is truly priceless.
An interesting song for me because I used to play it in one of my bands a very long time ago. It is soooo much fun to play! It has an energy of it's own.
😂😂😂😂 That look at 2:40 is priceless! More more more😂 You guys are awesome! Dude's face at the end was trying to morph into Billy's..Hahahahahah😂 Men out there pay attention...the ladies love the slow sacrifice part 7:25 ..."I'D SELL MY SOUL FOR YOU BABE babe babe"!😊 Girl you look like you know how to party😊 HAHAHAHAHA...She said "sexual charisma" and you said "character from Street Fighter"! 😂 You're so right! Both of you! 😂
I watch Professor of Rock. It's hands down one of the best You Tube channels. He talks to the artists to share about the songs. Type in "Professor of Rock Rebel Yell" & watch. You'll be hooked. My favorite is when he broke down "Hotel California". Steve Stephens (guitar) shares the story of the song. Wait til you hear where Billy came up with the name Rebel Yell & who he was with. It's just too cool!
Idol and his band: sheer raw power! Now Andrei you're kinda playing a little dumb there about this tune. Do you really expect us to believe that in the wee hours you never said to Dominika "I'd sell my soul for you babe, more money to burn for you"!! Great reaction to an all an all time rock classic! Much appreciated!!
He currently duets quite often with Miley Cyrus. It's quite remarkable how good they are together. They have great chemistry and make a point of clearly supporting each other on stage.
I got to see this tour back in the mid eighties. i still have the shirt and ticket stub. His keyboardist in the background her name is Judi Dozier she is a friend of mine. William Michael Albert Broad aka Billy Idol is a hell of a man and his guitarist Steve Stevens is as well and they both still tour together. I have been a fan since before he went solo in his Generation X days. When Billy was at a Rolling Stones birthday party and seeing Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood drinking a bottle of Rebel Yell Whiskey it inspired him to write one of his biggest hits “Rebel Yell”
When I was a youngster in the mid 1908ies, having my coming-out as a gay guy, Billy Idol was my Idol. His look, his way of singing, his curled lips - he drove me crazy 🤪
i grew up with the 70s and 80s music and loved billy idol his music was the bees knees then also the big smile on dominicas face from start to finish says it all brill song
I saw him just as he was breaking out, on a student union club stage. The show felt just like this video. They were awesome live. The guitar player, *Steve Stevens,* is highly regarded and played on many famous albums., including that fantastic solo for *Michael Jackson,* on *Dirty Diana.* He also super-grouped with *Levin,* one of the best bass players ever, and *Bozzio* whose drumming managed to satisfy even *Frank Zappa.* I needed to sorbet my brain between tasks, so thanks for the nice brain break. I suspect I looked like you guys the night I saw him, because I also couldn't believe how fun they were.
Billy's guitarist, Steve Stevens was super badass. Watch him in the video. His guitar work was insane. I think he still tours with Billy. Thanks for the reaction. You have a fantastic channel. Oh, and the character from Street Fighter (video game) that Billy looks like was named Guile. He was a badass too, like Andre says.
Billy Idol was a big deal in my house growing up lol, I was obsessed, my dad loved & impersonated him often (not well, but it was always hilarious) and even my Gramma saw some of my posters and stopped to say (Southern accent) "my, he's kindly sexy isn't he? If he did something with his hair" oh Gramma🙄😂 He's still got it, but this is THE song that brings out that lustful teen in me!😀❤🔥
Billy Idol was massive around the world and this song was huge around the world in the 80's and is fondly remembered by the billions that heard it around the planet. Billy Idol came from my home city of London and like me he was a proper Londoner. The song Rebel Yell reminds me of the happier times in my life being with my late and beloved parents with my younger brother and I, this song like many others of the times gives me happier memories being with our late beloved parents. Not knowing this incredible song and Billy Idol means that you are going to burn in hell.......just joking. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Why should you be surprised that Billy Idol in his 60s is still performing when The Rolling Stones a band in their 70s still went on the road? Sir Mick is 79! Other great Billy hits: White Wedding, Hot in the City, Cradle of Love, Mony,Mony ,Dancing With Myself, and Eyes without a Face. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was in the film The Wedding Singer. Had he not been injured in a motorcycle accident, he would have played in Terminator 2: Judgement Day as the evil cyborg from the future who was replaced by Robert Patrick. He was also limited in his scenes in Cradle of Love which is why you don't see him so much.
