What's funny is that I saw him on TV from the time I was probably born (97) all the way until his passing in 2009. However I had no idea they were making YTP's when he was still around in 2008 until a few years later (like 2014/15). Crazy fun times.
I don't because I have 4 of them. When the teflon wears off after a couple years, they start sticking and burning. You can't use oil because of how small the space is, they get oily.
Yup. I don't eat them often, once a month maybe, so one pan lasts 2 or 3 years until the teflon starts blistering then it comes off in the meat. I find them at Goodwill sometimes and I buy them, but mostly buy on eBay when I need one. I have since learned just rubbing a stick of butter around on the pan and lid will keep them from sticking. You still can't use PAM or no stick spray because the pan area is so tiny it will ruin the flavor of the meat, as it boils the cooking spray into the meat.
I still see this ad from time to time on TV at like 3 AM. Brings a tear my eyes sometimes lol. RIP Billy, we miss you. You was more than a just any average As seen on TV pitchman

+Chris Benesch I was a PA for this infomercial. Produced by the Schwartz Group in South Florida. No idea if they're still around. This was a while ago.
I always loved seeing Billy Mays commercials. He had this way of yelling the ad at you that grabbed your attention and you'd see him so much that he was instantly recognizable even if the TV was on in the other room.
God, I never realized how much I missed Billy Mays. I remember watching him as a kid on TV all the time. Who ever thought I'd miss a commercial but I do. Life is funny. RIP
One of my fondest memories from middle school was when i got to do an infomercial for an industrial-era invention for history class. I got the Morse Telegraph, and I decided to pitch it in the stylings of the one and only Billy Mays. From what I recall, I had the whole classroom HOWLING with laughter - they totally ate it up! Even the teacher commended me for having the biggest energy out of all my classmates! I still got a D though for my royally half-assed prop that was supposed to go with the project, which was just an empty cereal box with two pieces of paper taped on it. All in all, best D I ever got!
Kaboom, mighty putty, miracle foam, big city sliders and much more, Billy Mays was a legend for us to watch growing up. I was so sad when I found out he passed, RIP Billy Mays
The two most nostalgic commercials from my childhood were this and the Betty Crocker bake and fill cake pan commercial. Unlocking my inner child nostalgia right now
@@seronymus Hey, it was a story that I was working on a while back, that I put a pause on due to needing to revise the whole thing..eventually. Thanks for checking it out!
Infomercials will never be the same. I used to laugh at this guy, but soon learned to really respect his ability to sell a product. He will truly be missed.
All my life skipping infomercials from my TV and now I'm looking at them through an app where I have complete control on the content I want to watch. Damn
Oh how I miss Billy Mays and his commercials. I don't like commercials or ads but his I would watch no matter what. I love his catchphrase hi Billy Mays here.

You can double or triple stack 'em and watch your family attack 'em 💯! Top with pickles, onions, ketchup, or cheese, Big City Sliders are sure to please 👍! The double-sided non-stick surface is so slick, not even burnt-on cheese will stick!
Billy May's made you wanna buy his products. I still remember watching his commercials as a little kid and how enthusiastic and energetic his personality was.
I got one of these for Christmas as a kid. The advertisement entertained me. It was one of my first forays into cooking for myself. Used it maybe twice and realized it was easier to just make the patties by hand the old way haha
On one hand i didn't appreciate Billy coming into my house via the tv to yell at me at night. On the other hand, here in 2024, I look back and do appreciate a straightforward commercial without the emotional manipulation. "Here's a thing, here's why someone would want it, it's twenty bucks."
I remember seeing this commercial of big city sliders when I was 8 we bought it at Walmart years ago. RIP Billy Mays your a great legend in tv commercials
10 years ago on this day, you were found dead. There's a whole lot that's happened since you passed. There's been a few that tried to be you, some like Mr. Swift, while they are great in their own way, they'll never be you. I can only hope that where you've gone since you left us that day is a paradise, and that nobody over there ever runs short of ideas for gadgets that you can be the pitchman for. It's been a long decade; Fly high, Billy.
