Yeah, top notch, because he is that good to get a bunch of "extras" that good, because he is the real deal... look into it... Just saying, Billy is the man.
I love that he just keeps progressing as an artist. His playing is cleaner, tighter, and more expressive than ever, and he manages to both honor the roots of bluegrass while also pushing the envelope in new and interesting ways. And I swear his voice is improving as well!
The great Tony has unfortunately left us. We’re fortunate that Billy is carrying on. And, yes, his singing has improved tremendously over the past few years.
Exactly. Billy is advancing the art of bluegrass by honoring its roots and traditions. His dexterity, his showmanship, his stage presence and most dramatically, his powerful singing voice, continue to reach new heights making him one of the top entertainment acts working today.
Last few comments I praised Billy and I meant that I should have praised all of them my bad trying to make up for my mistake they are all great musicians
Thanks to the internet which offers an almost endless supply of recources, technical proficiency in younger people tend to be much higher than decades ago. Just check out youtube for the amount of 10 year olds and teens that can shred like there's no tomorrow. However, technical proficiency doesn't automatically mean good musicanship.
We watched as Billy began and now he’s proving his steadily growing greatness and deserved star quality which for many years will expand and evolve because he strives for excellance
Billy Strings and the Boys absolutely burning the Rymans Auditorium down with the finest bluegrass anywhere. All Stars All. God Bless Billy Strings and the Boys. Love the Ryman suits.
i recommend if billy and band comes around....go see them. it is an experience!!! just saw them in asheville. nothing like em....and i've gone to concerts since the 70s.
So much respect! Hearing this beautifully haunting old Monroe instrumental performed to such tasteful perfection by these amazing young guys who can go as far out on a limb as they want, but keep everything so true to tradition when it's called for, is a revelation. Big Mon would be proud to know his music is in such capable young hands 27 years after his death.
Although I love Billy,,the banjo guy kicks ass right along with Billy,,I love to watch him pick, and I played bass with JD Crowe for four years and Keith Whitley for eight years!
Agree with you - You have the qualification and experience to make informed comment - Thank you I checked your site and your grand daughter sure has a fine voice. Cheers
@@wshow11 Merry Christmas , I had great tickets for his concert here in koln back in November...I had previously enjoyed Aaron Neville, Jeff Healy and a few others; wee place bad accostictical possibilities I wasn't about to suffer anxiety I knew would come from hearing him there...my loss. I told him right before he went on the road first time to enjoy himself that feeling will never come again. His skill is astonishing. I'm enjoying some old Leon at the moment. No space or time enough for all of the greats I hope those stringers stay together .
Wow ! I've heard Billy do this before, on this song and others, but I'm certain this is, possibly, there best yet, on this song ! Wow ! Listen to all this band play them strings ! Love it ! Well Done Billy Strings ! And, All dressed up too, For the Ryman ! Love The Ryman ! I'm A Fan ! Well Done All !
These guys are the best thing since Lester and Earl-----all of them virtuosos!! WHAT A COOL LOOK! You boys LOOK SHARP!! love it Did he go back to a D-28 to honor the forefathers???sounds great.
I have heard the Outlaws’ version and the one by Junior Brown. Both are great. And so is the rendition by Billy Strings (in white suit and cowboy hat) and his incredible musicians (in blue suits and cowboy hats). Billy’s microphone stand bears his name. While watching the video, I truly believe that Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Mac Wiseman, Jimmy Martin, and Roy Acuff are smiling down from heaven.
I've never heard of Billy Strings until this past weekend. Flew in for Tedeschi Trucks Band and heard Strings was in town and thought it would easy to pick a few tickets to see him..... I don't think so, he was SOLD TF OUT! Now, I know why! HOT STUFF!! WHEW!
This cat and his band are selling out everywhere!! Six shows in Denver metro this year and they still have to have ticket registration lotteries to keep the prices down.
Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle ARE NOT true Real Bluegrass artists. They, by their "woke" values are a cancer that is ruining Real Bluegrass. "Woke" and Real Bluegrass DO NOT belong together. He is a different genre than Real Bluegrass. He and his ilk will destroy Bluegrass the same way country music has been destroyed. Listen to the song "Murder on Music Row."
This band is en fuego and just getting better and better because they're playing all the time. Continually on tour. Total dedication. Just like Duke Ellington and Bob Dylan and all the greats. Working hard every day. Bless 'em!
Watch their faces strictly business they are there for one reason. To play the best they ever played. I would pay to go see them. When are they coming to Michigan.
Ever since seeing him and the band come onstage dressed as the whole cast of LOTR, I’ve been mesmerized by his live appearances. What an amazing performer.
Never was a Blue Grass fan, but these cats can f*cking bring it, man! Prog Grass is what I’d coin this. Innovative and refreshing. Fundamentally, what’s difficult to overcome in BG, is the lack of drumming and time signatures associated with that. Considering such, most songs end up sounding identical. Still, they’ve got my ears and attention. Mad respect! BTW, Billy Strings has an album in the works with Les Claypool. Yeah, THAT!
