Who's still here in 2023? Was introduced to Billy strings about a year and a half ago. His lyrics are true and really speak to me can't wait to see him in new Orleans for new years. I'm from Georgia. I hope everyone reading this has a good life and stays prayed up. You are loved!
I had to double check to see if this wasn't my comment from somewhere... I found billy about A year and a half ago and it's definitely changed my life... I would love to be in new orleans right now... He was on fire last night.. Hopefully I'll catch up to you all here in nashville❤❤❤
My son was born on this day #starwars bullshit. It’s now feb 2024. May 4th is soon to be on us and I thank my son being here but also billy strings for this. Mez @ Newcastle England
I really love how Billy steps back and gives each performer a chance to show off their skills, and never overpowers the stage. He's such a generous performer.
Adding that they can all step back/add in themselves at the right time- clearly a group with good chemistry. The sheer hard work and time it takes to get that good indicidually is impressive, seeing them all performing together is phenomenal.
The fact that he is so humble when he can write music and lyrics like he does and then perform and sing the way he does, makes him truly a once in a generation talent. And yes one of his best attributes is how he doesn’t demand the spotlight. He lets his brothers get some too. Love Billy so much
I'm gonna say this --- I have never been a true fan of country music .. I've been a hard rocker my whole life .. and avoided any kind of country music as it is like nails on a chalk-board for me... But this.... man oh man..... this transcend genres ... absolutely blew my 'effin' mind!! This guy made me a fan of bluegrass... PERIOD.
I’ve seen close to a 1000 shows in this lifetime and Billy’s show in Oklahoma on 9/29 may be the best one yet. If you haven’t seen him play, do so as soon as you possibly can.
It's the blend of young and old in this video I really enjoy it's beautiful.... What music is meant to be about community and love all under the banner of music.
I am fortunate enough to have come across this today...brilliant is the best way to put it sir...this is possibly some of the best bluegrass jamming I’ve ever heard
Equinsu Ocha thank you, I just saw him and thought “oh yeah we have a once in a generation virtuous! These young cats have turned Bluegrass to Hendrix at Woodstock
@@wallgod663 lmfaooo bro it’s me from a different account . It’s literally me an you this is a RU-vid moment for the gods. Like literally it’s you but it’s me wtf
My dad was named Billy, I lost him as a little girl. Grew up with his parents who always loved bluegrass, and still do. I am going through a painful breakup, so I came back home to my grandparents. My grandma said, you have to listen to Billy, listen to meet me at the creek. She loves you, she says she writes you on Facebook. I was laying here in bed and thought, ok, well I will try it. We live next to Lake Cumberland, and I’ve been going out to the lake everyday and floating in the water. It brings me peace and heals my pain. This song speaks volumes to me. Thank you for this.
I've been playing a guitar for 45 years. Billy's arrangements honestly make me cry. I was the stage manager for one of his shows in the U.P. back in 2015. A loyal fans ever since.
So I watched "The Trial of the Chiccago 7" last night. And so of course today I was googling "Julius Hoffman", which led me to John Prine's song "Illegal Smile" - and then I found "Dust in a Baggie". Now for the last 3 hours I've been watching Billy Strings videos. True story.
Right before he blew up!!!....look at all those traditional bluegrass listeners getting their minds blown as he goes off the jam deep end in this "Meet Me At the Creek" stellar take. Billy and the Violin were killing it. He will take bluegrass wherever he wants
I've been listening to this band for quite a while now and it never gets old. I'm thinking what we have here is a new classic. I like some new bands but they grow old and I move on. A few have made the cut and never get old like Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Del McCoury, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, and now Billy Strings gets added to the list. I thought that the days of good music had left us for good I have never been so happy to be proven wrong.
ZEPPELINNNNN While I was watching this, I was thinking, "This is almost like if acoustic Zeppelin had two or three Jimmy Pages and two John Paul Joneses in it"
At this stage in my life the only one I love more than Billy Strings is Jesus and my dogs.I couldn't be happier finding this young man.Thank you Billy for your talent.
As of today 5/27/20 there are 313 people who are obviously very sad and unhappy and gave this a thumbs down! If you listen to Billy play and you're not smiling, tapping your toes or dancing you have a very sad life and I feel sorry for you.
I used to see Billy Strings out and about back in 2013-ish when I lived in Traverse City and as a grown ass woman used to seriously fan out every. single. time.
What an immense amount of talent and genius there is on that stage. I am really surprised that my computer didn’t just blow up when Billy brought the vocals back in! Whether or not you like this style of music you have to admit that there are some great musicians on the stage and they definitely have a talent.
Damn this guy is good! I discovered him by accident the summer of 2018 when I went to the Hoxeyville music festival. I'm like, damn this guy is pretty good, I haven't heard this level of energy in a new bluegrass band ever. Now over a year later I am just beginning to realize the depth of this guy. He's just fucking amazing.
WAHOOO!!!! I just got introduced to Billy Strings music by watching Fil.... I'm a major new fan. My mom played fiddle, violin, & danced a jig. Dad played banjo, harmonica & sang. They played bluegrass & old style country music in the 50's. I wound up singing & playing for a living out on the road because of my folks. I've always loved bluegrass, but this music is something else! I haven't seen such joy in playing since I was a little girl watching mom & dad perform. Thank you Billy Strings for unleashing your joy on the world. It's a wonder to hear....
I got goosebumps harder than I ever have... not at the MANDO solo, but at the young girl's reaction to it! Dude is inspiring an entire generation to great music/talent! Name ONE artist that can transcend genres like this. Is there a human on earth (with deep musical appreciation) that cannot enjoy this performance?
A breath of fresh air from these world class musicians, they do American music justice like no one I’ve seen since the Dead in their prime . Beautiful is all I can say!!!!
Just burned one at 2:30 AM during the first full day of virus lock down in Orlando. Listened to this song for the first time and I am blown away. I have heard a little of Billy's music. But that is one of the greatest renditions of any blue grass song ever played. Them boys can pick!
It should not be a 'Surprise', but an expectation.......that some of the Best that the history of The United States of America.....merging cultures, histories, and stories can produce be interpreted for future generations by the new 'Generation'....;) ........ Music, Art, History.....carried on by the 'youngens'.......Spoken History has been an integral part of our evolution......Welcome ALL to SUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) .........
I've been picking since I was 11yrs old I'm 58 seen alot of pickers I always said that bluegrass pickers are the best in the world. I think I said all I need to say. Bubba Fallin
Wow. Just wow. I think I would call the genre Headbanger Bluegrass. Definitely the best performance of any group I've seen on Music City Roots. They were awesome. And Billy Strings has a new fan.
This young gentleman is filled with talent. This is only one of his original songs.....Thanks Billy and keep on writing and playing your heart out. Much love
If you are not tapping your foot with this song someone needs to check your pulse SHAZAM!!! this is the best I've ever heard I'm 65 play bass in a classic rock band these guys are top notch what that guy is doing on that upright bass is very hard to do TOTALLY AWESOME MUSICIANS this is the best I've ever heard 😊
Bravo lads. When the kids are grinning and jumping up and down for joy. When the Elders give you a standing ovation. You put together one heck of a performance ;-)
That's essentially what I'm doing this very moment lol. Driving from mn to az to live next to a small mountain in the desert and play my guitar and listen to music, and shoot a shitload of guns.
