I am late to the party but I am so glad I came across this ambient example. So many demos focus on bass. This thing can do so much more. Beautiful textures. My Neutron will be under the Christmas tree. With appreciation.
I've played this one several times but just realized I haven't yet commented. Your demo shows the delicate side of the Neutron. Beautiful sounds throughout. Hard to beat and quite mesmerizing to watch. Edit - just noticed I had commented!😊
I've just ordered one! Yesterday! Be here Tuesday with a bit of luck! Every demo I've heard as been most impressive! Really excited! I can't believe the price? This is a fantastic piece of kit for someone who wants to discover the amazing world of Analogue! I can't think of anything that comes close! That Strymon Big Sky sounds beautiful! Great Demo! Thank You!
Very nice work of Art! I feel we are all on this new wave of synth awesomeness journey... together. I’ll be all in soon... as I’m getting one of these glorious red machines and the same keyboard/sequencer. I am very excited at the prospect of creating soundscapes, myself. Again... very nice work!!! Thank you!!!
It was the last thing I saw before going to sleep. I didnt feel quite good before sleeping. I had not a nice dream. I was paralized in bed but in another place. I saw shadows moving around but I was unable to see them clearly. I was talking to them, but they dont communicate with me. They are always busy. After a while I could get free from the experience. I woke up and I realized that I am at my parents home. My heartbeat is a bit fast and have a headache..but it is not a usual one....it is a different sensation. I grabbed my phone and unlocked it, youtube popped up and was your video still on the screen....so I replayed it again....great music. Now I am trying to remember what I saw there listening to your music.I am going to try to save some money to buy one of this...the soundscape is definitely awesome. 🛸
Thanks for sharing. It seems I kept coming across your videos and decided to subscribe! I like how you are generating ambient textures and evolving them. Thanks, too, for your notes.
Some of these tones remind me of "The Narrow Way", David Gilmour's signature contribution to the 1969 Pink Floyd album Ummagumma. I've actually heard rumors that he used a Moog mono-synth on that. I think coupled with my Yamaha MX61 with all the nice acoustic sounds I could do some interesting shtuff.
The more I see and hear this synth, the more I am utterly impressed. My only concern is that I will go on a journey, without laying anything down as a track. Fucking immense synth though
Sounds amazing. I'm thinking about making my first foray into the world of synths and wanting to make some electro, and I'm impressed by the sci-fi sounds you've squeezed out of this. I think the Neutron might be the one to invest in.
Wonderful patch and performance. Wow, that Big Sky Cloud sounds amazingly like the Lexicon 200! Thanks for sharing. Gladly supporting your channel now.
I have been working with this synth for a month and find myself getting lost in each journey with it soon I will attempt to capture what happens but each time I start it just goes on and on with this one synth. Peace Christo 👽
This is brilliant, man! I don't think I can hold off getting one myself, no free inputs, but I can run it through my MoXF and then the problem with f/x is solved too... off to order one now, your fault, Sir! hahaha
Nice patch thanks, this is the kinda experimentation i need for the neutron. Patch link much appreciated, gonna try tonight, what fx are you using plz? Seems like good ol reverb? The neutron is a Gem cant wait to do some more discovery with it, thanks
Hard to choose between Model D and this. More work with this one, but Great God Vishnu!...it almost makes pads in mono! 8-() Something tells me your "Big Sky" thing plays a role in that. I'm going to look it up.
What a wonderful demo!! I forgot what I was watching while driving to work.. I bought a model D about 7 months ago as my first synth, then a deepmind 12 about one month ago. I’ve told myself I would hold out on buying another synth until behringer made their EMS clone, but for the price this of course is also unbeatable..
I have absolutely no experience or knowledge of synths, but recently have been playing with modular synthesizers in VR (anyone out there with a VR headset should try 'Synth-VR',. From beginner to pro, your mind will be blown). *This* is the video that led to my decision to buy this same setup, and start getting serious about the synth, as ^this is exactly the sort of music I want to investigate. I so wish there was a more detailed tutorial on this, and the whole field of ambient synthesising with the Neutron. I am sure that when my kit arrives, I will be able to figure it out from the patch... but I am hungry for more. I have of course subscribed to this channel.
@@SnigFargle Thanks for the reply. Well, I went ahead and put the order in. Problem is, I simply cannot afford the Big Sky (as much as I *want* it)- not on my pension! ;-) So I am looking for a cheaper alternative. I put a post up on Reddit Synth group to ask around. I put a link up to this video too - maybe it will drive a few views back. ;-)
@@SnigFargle I have the NTS-1 in my shopping basket, it looks a lot of fun to mess around with. However, just looked at 'The Ocean Machine' - now I have to decide! Thanks again for your comments - and the inspiring videos.
Thanks for this great video. Finally some nice and beautiful stuff with the neutron. It’s a powerful machine but too many nerds seems to only make ugly and glitchy sounds with it, just because having an analog synths and turning knobs makes them look cool.
@@LukezyM I ended up getting myself a Zoom MS-70CDR... Which is a whole synth in a pedal! And it's dirt cheap. And frees some more HPs in my rack... ;)
i used to hate behringer for a verry long time, i'm a korg fan tho behringers monitors and mixers used to suck verry hard and some mixers even broke after few days on stage. i must admit they changed verry fast and to a good point now now i'm in love with theyr analog synth copies. im about to get the neutron and the crave
HighwayDamage I know what you mean. I had a mixer that was cheep junk years ago. I own several of their synths now and it’s a totally different quality and build. I love what they’re doing now.
It might be that I'm brand new to semi modular synthesis and I'm still in the learning stages of my new Neutron, but I followed the patch to a T from Patch Library and it sounds almost nothing like this. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Make sure all the knob positions are the same, as well as the patch cords. I recreated the patch before making the diagram for the Patch Library, and it sounded the same. One big sound difference is the use of the Big Sky reverb on this. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your possible music...would you be so nice to give some tips about the connection plugs and some adjustment settings...that would be kind so thank you for the art🎨👌
sounds great man! I'm currently considering getting this as my first synth. I'd like to create drones and soundscapes just like this one, without using a midi keyboard. Do you think this is the best one for the price or do you have any other suggestion?
Hi Federico. You'll need a midi keyboard to play the Neutron: I use an Arturia Keystep Pro, which is quite nice. For a first synth that has a keyboard built in, for creating soundscapes, I think a Novation Ultranova or Mininova might be a better choice, as they have effects built in, which I'd say you probably will want. Hope this helps :-)
Holy crap! Awesome video! I’ve had my neutron for about 3 months and I can’t figure out how to get what you’re doing here. Is there any way to get that patch settings? Thank you for your time!
Can someone help a synth newbie out. I have a neutron/Keystep on order. Already have a Big Sky (i play guitar). I saw your patch for this. But as far as they keyboard, are you just pressing various keys and holding? Couldnt see what your other hand was doing. Thanks!
That's a great patch, sounds lovely! Have you shared it anywhere? Mine arrives tomorrow - my first synth - so i'm looking for patches to help me learn.
@@SnigFargle Thank you, spent a couple of hours last night playing with this patch, sounds amazing. My 10 year old daughter had a great time as well, think this synth is going to be something we get into together! Thanks for sharing!
I have 3 neutrons. I have been trying to replicate this sound in each one using the link to the patch library, but I'm unable to get anything similar. This one sound amazing. Mine sound repetitive and boring, totally different.
@@SnigFargle yeah, I tried tried with a long plate and a "particle reverb" from a zoom ms70, which BTW is an amazing reverb that is similar to a shimmer, but adding space. It has 3 different modes. I love that extra long reverb, but anyway, I didn't get anything close to your video😔
Yes, mono in from the Neutron to the BigSky, which produces stereo out. I like the Particle on the MS-70, but it's not the same as the BigSkyCloud. The best emulation of that is the FXAid Eurorack module (which does everything).
