I’ve been using this video for several months now. As a dyslexic, it is the ONLY video that doesn’t get my wires crossed while watching. The part where the tails meet is the most critical p,ace for me. You make it so easy o do. I just watch, pause, and continue until it’s done. And it turns out perfect every time! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Best tip ever for me is you don’t sew from short end to short end. You sew from a short and long end to the other short end and long end! Now it will be so easy to remember! Thank you so much!

Just used your video to bind a small wall hanging. My problem was always the corners and connecting to the two tails. Your methods for both worked perfectly!!! Thank you so much!!!!

Thank you for this really clear tutorial on binding; from trimming the project to measuring the final closing seam each step was given with very clear verbal and visual explanations. Lovely teaching style which was a pleasure to watch. I'm a beginner quilter (just finished the quilt top!) and this demonstration of binding was really fortuitous. Again, thank you so much.

Thanks so much for a really excellent tutorial,I have always been put off by the final stage of making a quilt, but now that I have followed your clear instructions, I have completed my first mini quilt and I am so pleased, I will be following your instructions for binding from now on. So once again many thanks for taking the time to show this technique.

Thank you for the binding tutorial. It was very helpful. Your explaination was detailed but not boring. I'm confident that I can do it now. I agree this is a better way to end a rag quilt. Can't wait to give it a try.

you mentioned about back stitching using the walking foot. I had read several web sites that say the walking foot does not do back stitch. Were you able to back stitch using the walking foot when doing this video?

Seems to me my instructions with the quilting foot such as you are using stated not to back stitch? Reason why I never used it to bind?
@heidi6308

When hand stitching the binding, how do you tie off the thread so the knot is hidden and start your next section? I haven't found a tutorial yet that shows how to do this. Thanks in advance!
@NationalQuiltersCircle
@NationalQuiltersCircle 5 лет назад
Hi, You can tie a simple loop knot. Take a small stitch like normal and pull the thread until there is a small loop of thread. Insert the needle through the loop and pull tight to form a knot. Do this one more time directly on top of the last knot to secure. Then, run your needle down in between the layers of the quilt about an 1" or so and clip your thread there. This will tie a secure knot and hide the thread end. Cheers, Ashley
