1. Get out 2. Nope 3. Us Though all three are friggin awesome. Peele does horror that makes you think and face things. I think Us is his least successful film, but even that is really compelling. I never imagined the guy I used to laugh at on Nickelodeon and Comedy Central would turn into this absolute beast of a director.
@@SmolFenFenIf you’re referring to the box office in terms of success, then Nope was his least successful. Us actually is his most successful with $256.1 million, followed by Get Out with $255.4 million, & Nope with $172.3 million.
One thing Georgina, Walter, & Andre had in common: they all found a way to keep their lobotomy scars hidden. Georgina was constantly fixing her hair and both Walter & Andre wore hats.
The significance of the cop in the beginning of Get Out was not about him being on the take. It was about Chris mistakenly thinking that Rose was sticking up for him and his civil rights when the cop wanted his license. But what she really was trying to do is make sure that there was no record of him being in that area before they kidnapped him
On “Us”: 1) everyone (in America) has a shadow, hence the long chain of people at the end. 2) if you grow up underground, with no light, no warm food, no joy, etc., your adult version will be a savage. The shadow girl who replaced the first woman got to grow up on the surface, with resources. That is why she’s “normal” and the originally normal girl is a monster. That’s also how the plan came about: the original girl had already lived a normal life, so she knew there was something better above. She knew how to talk. The other shadows didn’t. So she became their leader.
for US, they dont go to the basement and get cloned, they just already exist and are living a more miserable version of the life that their actual counterparts are living. That is why the mother talks about one eating fresh warm food & while she had raw rabbit (there are other examples mentioned). She took over her life and eventually learned how to live normally which is why she is different now. The reason the other mom can talk is because she originally was not supposed to be there. The son witnessed a lot of strange actions from the mom during this & at the end when he looks at her, it is bc he is skeptical of who she really is.
1:32:58 A hint before the reveal that Adelaide is really the Tethered clone. Listen to the sounds she makes. There are a few other clues earlier in the film. When Zora kills Umbrae, Adelaide comforts her as she is dying. When Jason makes Pluto kill himself, she screams "No!" & when she kills Dahlia, she makes the same feral growl as the Tethered like she did when she killed Red.
Lupita Nyong’o not getting an Oscar nomination & win for her dual performance as Adelaide & Red is still insane to me smh. Same with Toni Collette & Alex Wolff in Hereditary. Horror movies deserve more respect from the Academy.
Unfortunately the Academy considers themselves very "highbrow" & they don't even use the term Horror movies, instead they call them "genre movies" or B-movies. It's why lesser known award shows like The Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, Saturn Awards etc exist, to celebrate Horror & give the genre the respect it deserves but rarely gets.
I mean, it was good. But it wasn’t extremely moving to where it leaves your jaw down. Also yea the academy doesn’t seem to appreciate horror films. Look at Hereditary.
@@rumham7466Well that’s simply not true considering she was nominated for many awards (and won quite a few) during awards season including Critics Choice & SAG, which are major precursors to the Oscars.
Symbolism detail: Chris was literally forced to "pick cotton" when he ripped the stuffing out of the chair to plug his ears & block the hypnosis trigger ☕️
0:14 Trust me, we can! Would I rather work an extra shift today or stay home instead & have a Jordan Peele movie marathon with my bro? You win every single time! No contest!
Nope is the best of all three. We haven't had a western this good since Blazing Saddles. I ended up liking Us and Get Out about the same, with Get Out leading by just a bit. I didn't like the story of Us as much, but Lupita's performance and some of the technical aspects really elevated it. I'll never understand the hatred Nope gets. Genuinely a masterclass of filmmaking from top to bottom, and a perfect western, too. Edit: I do think that Us is the scariest, though. Nope is more unsettling and action-packed, and Get Out is scary, but in a different way, and it leans on comedy more than Us, I feel.
Maybe I’ll have to watch Nope again. Because I was bored by it. US was thrilling to watch. And still is. But has too many plot holes to call it well written. Get Out in my opinion is the best one. It’s well written, the acting is great. And it actually made me feel the fear that the victims felt. When he went into “the sunken place” I could feel the fear myself.
At the end of US, it's implied that Jason knows that's not his mother, that's why he's looking at her like that. He knows the truth, she's the doppleganger.
Us always gets me more than other horror movies. I think it perfectly embodies the uncanny valley. Everyone on earth has probably looked at themselves in the mirror at least once and gone… huh… what if my reflection just…
I like the longer videos more Matty is great but I can’t find the individual videos on the channel anymore, i think watching multiple films in one video might work for some film and tv shows but certain films should get individual videos because there so important in film culturally so getting to have more of your reaction to them individually is important. I know you said before you’re re-uploading some of your reactions because you think there cringe but seeing progression is important and a lot of people when they find a channel want to see were you started to where you are now especially with film reaction channels because authenticity is so important so i hope you keep uploading stand alone videos and if you re-upload stuff please keep the original video on the channel because there great love the channel excited to see more from you ❤
Oh okay okay I did un list them but I can make them public again:) I don’t think the reactions themselves are thatttttt baddddd but the editing killsssss me on the inside but also wanna organize this channel a lot 😭 I didn’t re edit this one though, just made a super cut :) don’t worry I’ll still be getting new videos out at the same time, just gonna make these whenever I have time ! I appreciate the feedback ❤️❤️😊
@@mattyreacts No problem and don’t be silly the editing is fine, i think you should make the original videos public again just because there authentic and i think more people like to watch them as individual videos witch most reaction channels do but ether way happy to see more from you ❤ps Love the AHS reaction especially season 3 coven cant wait to see more and next year you should do a poll for Pride month that would be super awesome.
Get out is by far one of my favorite modern day horror movies of all time. I loved "US" a lot and the threatre experience was so amazing. I honestly don't care for N.O.P.E but so many people loved it
3:50 deer are having a negative effect on the ecosystem in some places. White tail deer are a natural host to a brain worm, that doesn't affect them but is fatal for moose and elk, etc. So where instead of having all three species, my area only has white tail deer.
feel the exact same way about the deer. let the wildlife and nature vibe without humans messing it up! humans have hunted wayyy too many animal species to the point of extinction :((
Nah, Jason is the same, if he wasn't he would've had the disfigured face. Basically the other version of the mom likely told him what happened so he doesn't see her in the same light anymore i think
Don’t think I’ve ever heard ecosystem said like that lol but here in my state deers actually do hurt the ecosystem and when they’re too many plus cause a lot of issues with car accidents and eating up fields to feed cattle to feed the rest of the US. Hunters can only kill so many per hunting season
3:50 Tell me you don't live in deer country without actually telling me you don't live in deer country. They're absolute menaces, 90% of them are ridden with parasites. They eat everything, and they reproduce like rabbits. Just because they're cute and you might have watched Bambi as a kid doesn't mean they're not just overgrown pests.
As for ranking order, I think it's the order he released them in Get Out is 1st, then Us (not lower than Get Out by much), then Nope is last for me out of the three. They are all great but for Nope I've never been a huge 'alien' film person in general. I will say it is one of the best alien films I've seen so far since I don't watch them often. But it was confusing for me and I had to watch explanations etc. I also randomly got a headache while I was watching it so by midway I was wishing it would just end so I could get a nap to get my headache to go away. I also wished that the end wasn't a reveal for what it looked like and I wish it looked that way throughout the whole movie. Because before the reveal it looked like a freaking cowboy hat... I will say, that I definitely view it more highly now as opposed to when I originally watched it though after getting explanations for it. I also, typically watch films by myself first so I can dissect it better but I did watch it with a few people who hated it/ were confused as well.
Why do people say they take a piece of his brain out? When they obviously say that transplant its whole brain and only keeps the stem of the other person's brain.
I enjoyed 'Get Out' but I didn't care for 'Us'. His 'Nope' movie I have not seen since I found out how underwhelming it was with spoilers and all. Glad I never wasted money on that film.
