I wish the hands free calling worked well. The fact that you can't get an external mic working unfortunately rules this unit out for me. Too bad because otherwise it checks all the boxes.

Yeah, that’s one thing I didn’t like about this unit. But luckily I don’t talk much on the phone while I’m in the car, so it’s not that big of a deal. And you still might be able to hook an external mic, I just might not know how to change the settings for it. Because there is a spot in the back for a mic. It just never recognized the one I had.

Having some issues with my speakers after installing this in my '07 Corolla on the weekend. Sounds like the low end frequencies are really low and then certain heavier songs it will completely distort the bassline. I might try installing apple car play even though I'm an android user lmao. With the default Toyota radio and speaker set up the sound was really good and now the quality has really been effected. Hoping I can fix this!

That’s weird, I wonder if you have any bad connections behind the radio? And have you tried every type of connection like, Bluetooth, radio,aux, mp3 off of a usb? Sometimes it’s the device you are trying to play music through.

Well I believe I talk about it. I just complained that it’s very slow. And if you are going to get this I would just recommend getting Apple CarPlay and use maps that way! But maybe I will do another update video on this radio!

The radio comes with 2 USB cables. I ran mine into my upper glove box. And you can load music onto a USB and play music off of it!

I’ve got a similar head unit. I could not find the option to turn on lines when backing up. Did you ever find out how to turn em on? Premium content tho!

Well when I hooked up my back up camera. Mine already came with the lines on, but I believe when I was going through the settings there was a couple of them about the backup camera, they might be in there. Just take another look through the settings and see if you can find something. And thanks for the support 🙏

The Amazon link gives two options for the stereo, one for 199$ that has (2G + 32G) and the other for 158$ that had (1G + 16G). Is the first option worth the 40$ upgrade? I also realized the first option has android 10.1 and the second has 8.1 if that makes any difference.

Well when I bought mine I bought the 1G + 16G model, but they were both running android 8.1. But now it looks like they updated the better model to android 10.1. So just remember if you buy the cheap one it looks like it comes with old software, might be better to buy the more expensive so that way you are updated!

Most people I see on here don't even have theirs in their dash,they just have it covering buttons. What should I get to get the unit in the dash?

Are you able to customize Home page? I have the same unit (same car too) and I’d like to be able to change the home screen layout and delete undesired apps. Been playing with the unit and can’t seem to figure it out

Yes you are, I did it one time, but it’s in the settings that you need the code, I will try to find out exactly where it is in the settings.

Question.. do u need to keep your phone plugged into the dongle at all times even after you set up apple car play or is it a one time thing just for set up? Also, apple car play is through Bluetooth right?

So this unit is plug and play for the Corolla? I have a factory radio on my 2010 corolla and was looking at getting this one but dont wanna deal with the hassle of wiring.

Yes the radio was all plug and play. Probably only took about 10-15 minutes to install. But if you want the backup camera that takes a little more time and needs some wires spliced into the reverse light.

I don’t think you would need it, I have the lowest storage and it works great with Apple CarPlay!

Yeah I have had 2 of these android units, and both of the microphones were junk, but luckily I don’t use them much, so it’s not a big problem for me.

That’s very strange, I have not heard of that! Maybe a wire in the harness is not connected probably, or the harness that was supplied is faulty and might need a new one!

I have not seen any difference since I installed this unit. Everything has been the same! If I’m not wrong, some of the higher model corollas came with a touch screen. So it wouldn’t be any more than those models!

Well when I bought the car is came with a signal din pioneer radio, like one of the ones you can buy from Walmart. And I think this sounds much better than that.

Yeah my side buttons have always worked. Maybe something isn’t connected good In The back? Also does the lights come on when your headlights come on? Not sure if they are related, but at least you can see if they are receiving power!

I’m not sure exactly what buttons you are talking about, but if it’s the steering wheel buttons I don’t think they work with this radio.

@@BrandonStellmach hello I found out, the buttons I said would be the ones on the screen, the ones on the steering wheel I got it. the error here was that I calibrated the screen and deprogrammed the screen buttons. I went to touch and programmed again

So at the time of this install, I did not have any steering wheel controls. But I put steering wheel controls in my car about a year ago. And I was able to get the volume buttons to work with this radio. But none of the others. But probably about 10 months ago, I upgraded to an idoing radio, and I was able to program all the buttons to work with the radio.

@@glenntaylor8882 the biggest thing I noticed between the 2 units. Is the iDoing is faster at processing data. And doesn’t have much lag. Especially using Apple CarPlay. Because when I used Apple CarPlay on the binize. There was like a 1-2 second delay when pressing a button. As well as the screen quality is much crisper vs my old radio. Th radio is about twice as much. So it’s hard to say if it’s worth the extra cost. I just think the iDoing radios are going to last much longer then the cheaper radios on Amazon.

I had no complaints while I had that radio, it was really good and I had it for over a year. I ended up getting a new radio with wireless Apple CarPlay. But that would be my only complaint, is does not have wireless CarPlay built in.

If you are talking about the stock USB, my car didn’t come with one so I can’t tell if it works or not, but the USB that comes with the unit still works great!

The only thing I can think is that you didn’t plug the cable in the right spot, or it didn’t get pushed in all the way. I would double check the connection on the back of the radio.

That’s weird! Does it at least change the volume? And you just don’t see the volume Sliding is just not showing up? I have not had this problem, I’m not sure what it could be. Maybe there is a setting?
