Hi Danny. Thank you for documenting all these awesome stuff. What you're doing is amazing. Here is my case: As just an experiment, I set up a very small scale 100 liters biogas system 2 years ago using everyday objects (5L water bottles, garden hose) using dog poop as substrate with water floating gas storage. I didn't know you then. The system was painted in black and exposed to solar heat. It worked perfectly with a blue flame. It could keep burning once ignited just like you showed in this video. I had used no measurement instruments such as pH meter, or thermometer. A while ago I wanted to scale it up for my new home with a 500 L tank with your scrubber design(special thanks for that) and an air mattress as the gas storage but with no luck so far. I don't know what went wrong or what I did right with the first smaller design. It has been a month so far but all I get is a very dim blue flame. but as soon as I put the lighter's flame away, the flame of biogas just goes away too. I need the gas for heating and I need it so badly. Btw I had installed an electrical heating element inside the tank with a sensor set to 36 degrees celcius. I'd really appreciate your input here. Please help me out bro. I can give you all the details you need.

Hey kadir, without seeing it and knowing the system it’s a bit hard, but, if you are getting some gas that’s a good sign, how much are you feeding and how often, what are you feeding it? Do you have a valve somewhere between the digester and scrubbers/collection storage, see if pressure builds up, you could have a possible leak somewhere.

@@OkAtEverything-ProAtNothing Thank you for your reply, mate. The system started to produce decent combustable gas just 3 days ago and I have been celebrating it since then. I did several things differently but I still don't know what fixed the issue. As answers to your questions: I made sure that the biodigester was gas tight. It has a valve between the scrubbers and the digester and a hose for bypassing scrubbers. I made that so in order to prevent the siphon effect that might lead to pulling water from the scrubber to the biodigester tank when I remove effluent in high amounts. The bypassing hose goes directly to the gas collector. It bubbled once in 3-4 minutes then but now it's bubbling every 10-45 seconds which totals to roughly 500 liters/24 hours gas production which, if you ask me is amazing. The different things I did are: I fed the tank with lots of food scraps like 3 or 4 kilos (all plant based, no citrus,) Then I put in some metal pieces (I had read somewhere that metal in the digester could neutralize some of the h2s that could hinder the production of methane in high amounts) and the last thing was: I almost filled it up with with the last batch I fed. (it had been 80 percent or so full) It had consisted mostly of dog poop since you said in one of your videos not to put in food scraps till you get methane. But it seems like putting in scraps was the reason for the huge boost in my system. Again, thank you very much for all this awesome stuff, I would love to discuss further and compare notes. One last thing, I treated it with sodium bicarbonate to increase the pH value to the optimum level(6.5-7).

can a biogas digester be started with dog poop or still need to be started with cow poop then use the dog poop to make gas i have lots of dogs and hoped to find away to use biogas as a way to make use of all the poop i have to clean up in the yard

I am currently in the process of trying this, will be doing a vid on it soon.
