I disagree. I did like the dark tone of 2007 and the satisfying end of Matoro's sacrifice but story wise, the Barraki felt like the Piraka again. Set design wise, was better than the Makuta of the next year but I mean overall storywise, 2008 is better since it comes full circle with our original characters having turned into complete badasses and not just one Makuta but an army of them. You really can't hate the vehicles of that year. But we can both agree that 2009 and caused Bionicle to die.
Makuta and Barraki were good set wise, although the Barraki were better imo. Barraki could have had more time to develop but did have differences from the Piraka.
Bionicle was best when it was ooga booga themed in 2001-2003. Disappointed when Piraka defeated Toa Nuva with Projectile weapons. And Toa Inika looked too ugly than when they was some Tohungas despite they are called "hero".
It's really a shame the sound quality for the 2003 animations is quite shitty. I guess nobody recorded the audio with a good software back when the original animations were available on bionicle.com :/
