It's the power of MOVE ALONG, MOVE ALONG! All we had to do was keep it strong and we righted back what our minds assumed was wrong! (Also, it is a wild feeling to keep running into you in all these random videos! Now I know what it feels like!)
see for me it's the other way around. i do not like what he represents (the decline of bionicle figures) but i love him for what he is (Just A Little Guy)
This might be the goofiest looking thing ever, but by Mata Nui himself, the fact that even in a brick set they acknowledge Bionicle's history, and the shear positive and creative reaction by the community (much like this video), just makes unimaginably happy. Thank you Lego.
as much as I love brick tahu, let's face it. If lego corporate had its way, brick tahu wouldn't even exist. It's almost like they want to erase constraction from our minds.
He’s just a little guy, and I respect him. Honestly, the existence of this guy, and the fanbase’s reaction to him, makes me super happy. They’re making the most of it.
3:28 "Headcanon: little tahu is an in universe action figure of tahu." I didn't think I could love Noodle Tahu more, but this just became my own headcanon because it's so beautiful and fits G1 Bionicle so damn well! Noodle Tahu's aesthetic absolutely fits with the various statuary and other decor we often saw in the backgrounds of Matoran village homes and other personal spaces and I completely believe that some Ta-Matoran would have had statues of Tahu like this in Ta-Koro.
This is exactly what we need to be at a time like this. A community that creates and laughs together. You can love it or hate it, but something as simple as a brick-built tribute is all we need to have fun.
I honestly first hated hit but grew to love ir just because of what it’s caused in the community like suddenly the community went from like a small flame that occasionally gives lots of light and then this happens and suddenly the community lit up like a bonfire
@@kaitracksmalgom Same for me. At first glance I was kinda happy to get at least anything Bionicle but also disappointed, because it looks nothing like Bionicle. I just couldn't see what this little Baby Tahu would start within the community. And all this stuff is also a direct message to Lego that we'd like to see more Bionicle.
I'm not even a Bionicle fan and this put the widest smile on my face. Had they done something like this to LEGO Star Wars, they'd be out for LEGO's blood.
I mean, take a look at mocs of Brickheadz Jar Jar Binks for how aome would embrace the concept. But I do agree, fans got vocal recently about the Clone Fighter Tank getting a size and complexity reduction resembling a Juniors build.
LEGO Star Wars: so popular that any bit of dissatisfaction makes people mad. Bionicle: fragile ball jointed figures that LEGO has discontinued for a long time, people are happy to see it being acknowledged even if the only thing they get is a Mixel style Toa Tahu without well defined legs.
The Bionicle community is the most dedicated out there. It's crazy how g2 has been cancelled almost SIX YEARS AGO (12 for g1), and that the community is still alive
@@cakeboss4194 It was my first introduction to mecha, it had a bit of a city pop aesthetc going on and I think the robots looked very bionicle. I really like that they are doing asian themed mechs again in ninjago, thats a bit of a silent reboot. Also Lego was more open to try out different play freatures, details with stickers, lights and what not.
Bionicle proving that they were secretly the chillest fandom of all. Any other community would have gotten mad and said they outraged, but y’all accepted this friend shaped man into your hearts. Proud of you guys
Seriously heck the regular lego fandom and other sections of lego fans tend to be extremally toxic and very elitist Bionicle fans... nah we just go "Welcome aboard" and send you some of the best sound tracks of the 2000s
I would unironically buy these goofy ass bonkle sets if they sold them like this. Hell, they might as well sell them as Bonkles. Absolutely fits the design
Y'know what? The fact that one crusty picture of a 27-part build had brought together the entire community is amazing. Could it have been more? Well, yeah. One of the builds in the video is an actual action figure, after all. But everyone likes this little boy with less posability than a Mctoran.
The fact that I can so easily recognize nearly every character represented here is a testament to the greatness of Bionicle design, and the lack of grass I’ve touched.
Having this little guy next to the GWP Tahu is a surprisingly satisfying sight. Said sight also gives off a sense of “Don’t ever talk to me or my son again”
I think the best part is how simple it is, meaning many different variations could be built with just one person's parts, and with one figure lego allowed hundreds to exist
If Lego makes Bionicle sets based on this hilarious Tahu figure, I’m at the Lego store on Day One of release. Edit (10/14/2022): There’s this leak going around of a Lego Tahu in the style of that Iron Man coming in 2023. Not getting my hopes up, but if it happens, I will eat a pillow on camera. Edit (2/1/2023): THIS BIONICLE PILLOW WILL BE THE FIRST VIDEO OF 2023!!!
Honestly, it might work in a Teen Titans Go way: the old “hardcore” fans will bitch and moan about it ruining Bionicle forever and new fans might get interested in the original 2 generations
It warms my heart to see that even evo from hero factory is getting love with this building style. Like Bionicle pulled in HF and said 'get over here!' like there was no Ill will between the two
Bionicle: The older brother who had so much potential but got body-slammed by life. He's seen some shit and been through some shit, but still loves his family. Hero Factory: The little brother who tried to follow in his big brother's footsteps and got crushed even harder. Now all they have is each other. And that's more than enough.
Hero Factory only got hate because we felt LEGO kicked Bionicle to the curb in favour of a series with much less interesting lore and sets. Then we figured out that no, LEGO was kicking Bionicle to the curb regardless and Hero Factory was just them seeing if the parts could still sell without the lore behind them... Plus it's fun to think of it as being a far future view of Sphera Magna or something.
Now I understand why Lego doesn't bring Bionicle back. One figure did all of this. Think about it. What would happen if Lego did release a full line of Bionicle sets.
The amount of love this fanbase has for Bionicle is absolutely heartwarming every time. The fact that everyone turned around to "i like this funny little guy" is amazing
@@sssspider He may not be the revival of Bionicle, he may not be a proper Bionicle set, he may not have a canister or a gimmick, but he's a Light shining in the Darkness for us until maybe one day Bionicle returns again.
Knowing how the community was with Voriki and noodle Helryx. I knew as soon as I saw this build, LEGO wasn't prepared for the floodgates they just opened up lol
This is HILARIOUS. I said, as soon as I saw Tiny Tahu, that I very much expected someone to rise to the challenge of designing every Bionicle set ever in this style. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. I'm also not over that art piece at 1:01, with epic serious shots of three classic versions of Tahu... and then Tiny Tahu dominating his corner of the image. It's wacky and hilarious and PERFECT. It encapsulates both the serious and goofy parts of the Bionicle fandom in a single image and I love it for that :D
Not a Bionicle fan, but as an Acceleracers fan i understand the struggle. It's nice to know that after 20ish years, a series so beloved can be acknowledged by the company that made it. Maybe in the coming years, we can both get a continuation of our respective series and toy lines. (hopefully you didnt end on a cliffhanger like us Acceleracers fans lol)
Also of note is the similarity between Battle Force 5 and Hero Factory. Both forgotten, mediocre (i think) shows that came after the original beloved series, are completely removed from the canon of said series, and aimed at a younger audience.
When I first saw the buzz around System Tahu, I was worried that it would just be another joke that would be run into the ground, but I think this video helped me see how much it means to the community to see LEGO acknowledge Bionicle’s existence. I guess this applies to me. I was too young to get into Bionicle G1, and I missed my chance at G2, so now it means a lot to me to see the Bionicle community celebrate this victory!
That one at 1:00 is the best one for me. Just hilarious how some people turn something completely ridicioulus like that Tahu into a serious, dark and gritty Artwork. And at the end its even more hilarious than the Brick-Tahu itself!
This is genuinely heartwarming. I don't think I've seen the Bionicle community so... utterly joyous and united for some time. Tiny Tahu will live forever, just like our memories of the biological chronicle.
Look, Mom! I'm famous! But seriously, This is one of the best, if not the best community I'm a part of, and seeing how we all went through every stage of grief in the span of 2-3 hours was honestly fun. Edit: Move Along was definitely the most fitting song to use for this
It's actually incredible that they broke down the face of Bionicle to his most basic form and it's still recognizable as Tahu, even with the googly eyes.
Isn't it ironic that the Bionicle classic reference gets as much hype from the Bionicle fans as the Castle set does from the non-bionicle fans? If not, more so! It just shows the passion of the fans to love anything Bionicle, even if its a block with googly-eyes on! I don't know about you, but I can definitely see a lot of *Unity* going on here! :D
This little red nugget prooves that the community still has a lot of juice left in it. The creativity is wild, LEGO just needs to throw us a bone a bit more often, not counting the constant easter eggs in other themes.
LEGO: Bionicle fandom is not profitable for us, let's make a small symbol to make those few rebels shut up BIO fans: Creating thousands of MOCs and memes just because LEGO at last done something for them LEGO: What just happened? 0_0
@@Speculector I unfortunately had every set. Literally the worst thing Lego ever came up with with poor designs. Fortunately they had a really dumb tv show where one of the planets (cannon in story) was called Kek
There's a lego store near where I live. I have never been happy recently than when I decided to walk in and saw complete boxes for Takanuva, Marita, and Vezon/Fenrak. I bought then, reassembled them, and actually cried a bit setting them up. It was like a piece of my childhood came back to me.
I've lost track of how many times ive replayed this. The first time, I cried a single, joyful tear when the chorus started and freaked out like a kid for the rest of the video. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must seek out those who made the art and MOCs so they get the praise they deserve.
I love how the song was used. I know it was never used for Bionicle in any official capacity, but to me, it defines the soul of the franchise. Hopefully, this won't be the end.
It was used for marketing purposes for the Inika Line, which going back and thinking about it made sense because the Bad Guys already won that storyline.
The amount of -shit- bionicleposting has been amazing to look through. It put a smile on my face. "I am so proud of this community" Also, nice addition of The American Rejects, "Move Along". Thanks to a Bionicle ad, it's how I was introduced to them.
Seeing that brickbuilt Tahu makes me feel warmth (no pun intended) in my heart. Thanks Lego for remembering one of the most influential lines you made.
I did not expect to cry to this. This is what i always thought LEGO was about since i was little the simplicity to create something great. It was not meant to look perfect but give a feel of happiness and wonder. For me LEGO has moved away from what i thougt mattered, but the Bionicle community sure have shown that they have not. Thanks for showing me that LEGO bricks still brings wonder and creativity and not just things that is forgotten on a shelf.
The fact that so many just embraced such an insulting, derpy, memorandum and kept rolling with it is honestly the kinda positive energy this community needed.
Man, do I love this video and man do I love this song! No song makes me feel more emotional about Boinicle than this one. This song is a huge part of how I was introduced to the theme with that amazing marketing campaign and ironically (or perhaps fittingly) the song's message applies to Bionicle fans so well. It seemed like everything had been going wrong since 2010. The theme never got to finish it's planned story due to a premature cancellation, the final lets were lackluster, and then a monstrously failed reboot in 2016 that ended even more abruptly than the G1. And then Bionicle was cast into a Dark Age for 5 years with no official products or recognition from Lego. It felt like those hands weren't meant to hold. But even when your hope is gone, you gotta move along, move along and you'll make it through. So when you finally see Lego releasing an official Bionicle built like this after so many years, you know you've right backed what is wrong, and you made it here because you moved along. It's a beautiful message that I carry with me not just in regards to Bionicle, but in regards to life. :-)
Sometimes, your comments make me cry of joy, this is a fantastic way of seing this, it feels like the Bionicle community gathered around after years to hear the legend of the Bionicle again.
I still hear this song once in a while on the radio and every time I do it puts a nostalgic smile on my face and I say "Hey, it's the Bionicle song!" I neither know nor care if the song was written and recorded specifically for the Lego marketing campaign or if they just licensed it, all I do know is for all of us, it will forever be the Bionicle Song.
@@realtchallamama I don't really remember but one is in the Hidden Side buss set, so you could look for a rewiev of it if you don't own the set yourself
I’ve watched this video like four times and I just smile so wide every time by the sheer amount of raw Bionicle fan that’s in every one of these pictures, like someone said “they’re trolling us” and a community with a heart of gold said “watch me enjoy it anyway.”
I love that the Bionicle fandom really did look at Li'l Tahu and go "He's so ugly! I love him!" like in Ant-Man. He's our little scrunkly. Just one of those fandom stories that makes me smile.
HOLY SHIT MY MOCS MADE IT!!!!!! also I'm definitely removing the void eyes, it is now that i realize how creepy they are. Plus I think imma do the other Nuva. I just love how this community has reacted to smol Tahu. I was fully expecting a backlash from the community, but the well of creations that have arisen out of that one image is just astounding. I'm proud to be a Bionicle fan
"Perhaps I was too harsh on you...." At first, I was pretty frustrated about this mini build of Tahu. It felt like Lego was taunting us, offering a droplet of water to a community that had been dying of thirst for over a decade. But seeing the feedback, love, and support to such a small build has inspired, it has changed my mind. I still don't think it's quite enough to honor a line that did incredibly well and created the community it had, but I've definitely softened up to the little guy.
Thinking about this comunity that with so much effort tried to re-create goofy-tahu-like others Bionicle characters makes me drop a waterfall of tears because I remember when I used to buy them at the stores and being able to recognize almost everyone of them makes me a proud Bionicle fan
This video is getting a tear out of me, the lenght the fandom went to survive , the initial reaction ,the reflections , the embracement , I love bionicle and its community , man
Honestly, same. I fully plan on getting it the day it releases, building Tahu, and then just using the rest of the parts to build random things down the line. It's gonna be great!
@@SupersuMC Huh, that hadn't even occurred to me but you're totally right! There'll probably wind up being a TON of people that resell the rest of the builds and just keep Tahu.
WOOOOOO my moc got shown!!!! Fr I love this new tahu and general bionicle style. But all around I just feel so happy as a fan. Right now, in 2022 we're going to see bionicle g1 tahu back on shelves. Bionicle is back, we did it, we won after all these years. It's a kind of happiness for this series I haven't really felt in a while. I'm excited for what the future could hold but at the same time if this is it I think that's enough. I just feel...... content if that makes any sense. And it feels good man.
Yeah, your Takua is super well-built! And I'm right there with you, it's so refreshing to finally get something new from the series after so many disappointments. This is a time we'll probably remember forever!
There's so many good MOCs! He falls into the So Bad It's Good territory, and it makes for perfect memes, but also the builds people have been able to come up with are fantastic!
I've watched this through three times already and I'm still grinning ear to ear Also wow this really does put it all in context so non-fans can understand too At least I hope they do because I've sent this video to several! :V
I'm 27 and I still have my box of bionicles. I made my own characters that now adventure around my moms house. I don't live there anymore but when I go home I move them to different rooms and create different scenes for my mom to find. sorta like unexpected easter eggs for her to run across and ponder during retirement. I've also taken one of the mayoral arms, cast it in bronze and made a motorcycle with a kickstand out of it.
I don't even know much about Bionicle but this just made me really happy seeing all of the art over a silly character, even making there own characters like it, it just made me smile
I want a full on Bionicle reboot looking just like this, every single set ever made converted into their- in universe toys. This is what the play-set figure could have been.
Honest the reason why I love this community, yeah there is a couple of toxic people but how afol see Bionicle fans is completely contrasted by this reaction. G3 lookin good
this video is perfect at portraying the way the community has handled this the way g1 bionicle ended felt so sudden, when they just started to expand the universe they finished it with a minimal collection of sets, and then it was revived for g2... which understandabily wasn't the bionicle I know anymore, it was like that part of my childhood didn't get a proper death but this instead is the happy, bittersweet ending I'd want for it, seeing how the brand may have been ditched or changed, but the community is still there some maybe more distanced but still having our memes marked by this, it will always be in our memory, it will never be gone until we are, we can even put together our MOCs and our own fiction lore if we really want to, and that's the beauty of it that won't be gone regardless of the company
I have watched this video a total of 12 times. And I cant help but to break into a smile whenever I watch this video. So proud of the Bionicle community, y'all are great.
Of course! Seeing all of your tweets and the mini-version of your self-MOC was super fun! And I definitely agree, I've had a BLAST with the community over the last few days!
