Hello sir, we have often seen issues in dissolvable films in transit as they aren't able to sustain the transit hazards. Is there any way to prevent that to minimum? Thanks a lot

This is not a commercially viable method. This is a hot summer day play time with mom and kids project. I will say this, the question you ask is the holy grail of bioplastics.

Can you add flavoring (like the flavoring used in hard candy or jello) to your edible packaging
@GEOsustainable
@GEOsustainable 5 лет назад
Excellent question Mary-Jo. Yes, you can. However, Jello has a lot of glycerin in it, to keep it Jello, so avoid that. I would suggest you use simple sugar based flavors, as sugar is polar and will mix with water (polar) well. I caution against acid and oils as they are non polar, but I can not say for sure, so try a small batch. Any flavoring that is polar is a shoe in.

Corn/Cassava/Tapioca/Rice/Potato/SugaCane.. there are myriad of options through which you can extract the starch and then use it with the same formula (Starch+water+glycerine+heat). People have also used sea-weeds for the same.

Just opened a frozen pizza where the pizza company incloses the pizza in plastic bag and puts in their branded thin cardboard box . I was wondering if they could use this bio plastic in place of the plastic bag ?
@GEOsustainable
@GEOsustainable 5 лет назад
Yes! They could. For now, there simply isn't anyone making bioplastic packaging film. It takes public demand, or until we run out of oil (which is not far off). Recycle that box, my friend.
@gauravashq

We will not endorse it in India as this one is made of Gelatin. We would prefer something made of Vegan Starch like Cassava/Corn/Tapioca/Rice/Potato/SugarCane etc.

@GEOsustainable
@GEOsustainable 4 года назад
Bioplastic is what it is. For use as a one-use plastic in applications where strength and water proof is not required, which are many, would replace so much of plastic made from oil. The trick is to use it's inherent qualities, such as incredible oxygen barrier and other attributes.
