Bc this is america. U would think as important they say sunscreen is 4 us. It's either small af bottles or cost more than my cleanser and moisturizer. 🤦♂️😒
The sunscreen from kinship has no white cast. I even used like 5 layer to see if it did. Just giving a recommendation for the darker gals and guys out there. I love the one from kinship. If you do try it I’d hope you love it too.
Thank you so much for being honest. Even some influencers lie say this leaves no cast just so we click their link and buy it. I’m darker than you and I use this. It DEFINITELY leaves a white cast. Like you said if u cover it with makeup it’s ok. But for those days without makeup it’s just not it.
I find that applying mineral spf in two individual layers works best at getting good coverage and minimizing cast. It may not work perfectly for everyone but it helps if you must choose mineral for whatever reason.
I saw a dermatologist, Dr. Alexis Stephens on RU-vid, say that physical sunscreens will always leave a cast because they're supposed to. Physical/mineral sunscreens will be visible because they "physically" are blocking the sun. To avoid cast, you either need a tinted sunscreen or a chemical sunscreen but chemical sunscreens aren't recommended because they can worsen dark spots/cause irritation. Dr. Stephens has a long video on sunscreens if you wanna learn more!
Hi, not all mineral sunscreens leave a cast. I recently review the Cotz 100% mineral sunscreen spf 50 and it looks clear on my dark skin. I have not reviewed those on my channel but Dr Sam's Bunting and Dr Gross mineral sunscreen also look invisible on my skin. Some brands are just better than other but lost within all the products.
I don’t think so. MDSolarScience has a mineral SPF 50 that barely leaves a visible cast and it’s formulated with non-nano zinc. It’s the best one I’ve tried so far!
I personally wonder if the key to mineral sunscreens in the future that will work for all skin tones is for brands to have a shade range. Like a tinted mineral SPF with a light enough and dark enough shade for everyone. If you add pigment to a white cast, it just becomes a foundation basically 🤷♀️
I just bought this to try on my channel. My skin is light brown and this sunscreen does disappear as I apply it. It may not be completely sheer on darker skin than mine is though, and they shouldn't advertise it as such. I only care about any white cast if I'm going to wear makeup. So this is great for wearing under makeup. I'd like to have a higher SPF though, if I'm not wearing makeup and I'm not likely to be outside all day. On days when I'm wearing the sunscreen while I exercise outside, I could care less about a white cast because I'm not going on a photo shoot, I'm biking, walking, or jumping rope, so I'll be sweating. I'll definitely not be using my $30.00 sunscreen to sweat off. So I use the Cetaphil Mineral sunscreen for $10.00. SPF 50 when I exercise outdoors.
Thank you for this honest review! I just placed an order for this sunscreen hoping that it would be a mostly sheer option for me, as I am not currently wearing makeup. I was deceived by Sephora's advertising and wished that I had seen this prior to placing my order so that I could properly manage my expectations lol. I don't like the way that chemical sunscreen burns my eyes but I might go back to that for the time being and save this Biossance option for when I resume wearing makeup
Idk y’all… I use this sunscreen everyday and I’m only a couple shades lighter. I only have a white cast for a few seconds but I just pat it into my skin and it goes away. The formula may have changed from the time I’m making this comment so I just wanna let whoever sees this knows that there’s still hope for this sunscreen. It’s makes my skin soft with a glow :)
This is one one of the best mineral/physical suncreen I've seen, this is as good as it gets, and im a avid Elta MD user. I'm ordering one, thank you for the great review
Naree Greenland What did you think of the Biossance? I 💜 Elta MD UV Elements. Live it but some days I don’t want the tint under my nails all day. Thinking of trying Biossance!
Thank you for showing the misleading by the company by video demonstration of the product. Integrity still counts and matters for the company and the messenger....A+
Have you ever tried the Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46? It works very well and it doesn't leave too much of a cast due to it being a combination sunscreen. Besides that, I really love the Paula's Choice SPF you showed here. It works so beautifully on skin and I'm really happy it works so well for you!
I haven't tried the Elta MD one yet. I keep meaning to, and I will probably try it in the coming weeks as I round up my sunscreen reviews for the summer.
@@ijesimonn Okay, awesome! I hope you like it when you do get the chance to try it out. :) I have oily-normal skin and it wears very well during the day, non-drying yet not greasy whatsoever. xo
Try using the Cotz Flawless Complexion SPF 50 (tinted), I've heard good reviews of it, claiming to not leave a white cast! Would love to see a dark skin person try it.
Emma i tried it no cast!! The only thing..it left my face look a little shiny. I heard it dried down matte for some and maybe people with dryer skin would like it better! Ive been looking everywhere for something without white cast and i like it i just add some powder over it and its fine!
Although it is better than any physical sunscreen I’ve seen so far this is still terrible considering there are dark skin men who don’t use face powder and don’t want a shine
I like biossance and i like mineral sunscreen but even being someone who is white i cant stand the white cats on any mineral sunscreen. And if you have face hair its even worse.
I am a guy dark skinned And I prefer not to have to wear make up LOL over my sunscreen, and I am a truck driver I’m also sensitive skin so non-mineral-based sunscreens for the most part really irritate my skin and burn it and really burn my eyes, I bought this sunscreen and you’re right it does feel really great on the skin but it does leave a slight cast that isn’t pleasant to see, But an even bigger issue because I am a truck driver and I’m in the sun all day long I must reapply sunscreen every two hours and it just gets worse and worse as you try to reapply this product I couldn’t recommend this if you need to reapply your sunscreen throughout the day, So foreign there are two sunscreens that seem to work out for me they’re both hybrids meaning it has zinc oxide and chemical filters but it’s the best that I could find that I can actually reapply throughout the day and don’t work completely ghostly LOL but it’s the Elta MD you be, So foreign there are two sunscreens that seem to work out for me they’re both hybrids meaning it has zinc oxide and chemical filters but it’s the best that I could find that I can actually reapply throughout the day and don’t work completely ghostly LOL but it’s the Elta MD UV clear, And the Elta MD UV sport now the UV sport has become my new favorite because yes it has zinc oxide as a filter but it also has a chemical filter as well but it seems to rub into my skin fairly well and it’s the most shear,The other benefit is with the UV sport I can actually buy a 7 ounce bottle of it for around 40 to 50 bucks so it’s much more cost-effective and I get way more product I went through the bio science in a couple days reapplying it every two hours and after a few applications I look like Casper the friendly ghost LOL
I agree. Also a guy, and don’t want to wear makeup to cover physical sunscreen cast. I just keep rubbing the physical sunscreens and let the rest settle in. Reapplying is where it’s a real issue, cuz the white cast gets worse and worse. The struggle is real.
I personally would recommend the sunscreen from kinship. It shouldn’t leave hardly any or at all of a white cast, and it has great ingredients. Especially for really sensitive skin. I have acne prone, dry, and sensitive skin so finding the kinship sunscreen was a total win. I don’t have dark skin so I don’t know how the cast would look on your skin but it’s worth it to try. I personally don’t experience a cast but like I said you might have to try it to see. Hope this helps.
