As a cis gay man, I, personally, don't understand bi-phobia. Bisexual people increase the dating pool, And discovering that a cute guy you thought was straight is actually Bi is such a fun experience. It means I have a chance with someone I originally thought was outside the community. What's not to love?

It’s true about gay men not accepting bisexual men. I got into an argument with a guy on social media who I thought was straight, saying how bisexual men are really just gay men who haven’t accepted the fact that they’re really gay. I was shocked when he later revealed that he was gay! I knew straight men thought this way but didn’t know gay men thought this way as well!?!

annoying as it would be, I'd much rather a potential partner came at me straight (heh) with those questions rather than just make assumptions about me based on their own misconceptions and prejudices. ideally, they could then take what i say into account and any lingering doubt can be attributed to their own insecurities that they need to deal with themselves.

The thing is that even if you keep your bisexuality, or any form of queerness, a secret, it will inevitability come to light at some point, especially if you start dating someone who is of the same sex or gender, which will be all the more confusing to those who don't know you are bi. It really becomes a catch 22 because there's no way to make biphobes or homophobes happy regardless of the context.

My longest relationship yet was with a bi guy (I'm gay) and I could not have cared less. He was a amazong person and that's all I cared about. Why should I care that he also likes girls?

lol my mums girlfriend always says "bi people are just greedy! They want their cake and to eat it too!" Honestly wtf? Ironic since I'm demi, I'm about as far away from greedy with it as you can get. For me it just means my boyfriend could turn into a completely different gender, sex or whatever tomorrow and it wouldn't really change anything for me. Like I'm just trying to exist. I hate when people like get angry that we are researching and conceptualizing some of the most innate and powerful things ab humanity for centuries (sexuality snd romance or lack there of) and refining/better-describing them. Like how can some random conservative cishet seriously tell you something that’s perfectly logically possible and (in principle) not inherently harmful or really relevant to them quite frankly. It shows that they fucking hate trans ppl, or rlly anyone who might be intersex, not have a 100% typical physical expression associated with superficial typicalities of sex vs gender. Believe it or not, it reslly is not some crazy, whacky idea that sexuality is more complex and factors in things like genital preference, the way you’re attracted to or perceive gender, the balance of your preference... and obviously way more stuff that I probably just am not going to relate to or think of because I admittedly am not pansexual. I have no problem reconsidering and introspecting on my own sexuality as we become to understand it more deeply. I understand and feel secure in the fact that im straight, and that I don’t entirely understand why but there’s certainly some social factors that might have played a role in creating the way I consider my sexuality as well as some innate ones, and some that interacted. But regardless I don’t feel any self hatred or guilt for being who I am, and at the same time realize how lucky I am to never even have to think about some of those things, and do my best to push myself to and understand and validate others as much as possible. So admittedly I DON’T fully understand everything, I DO have privileges and believe it or not that’s not something /I/ should be complaining about for any reasons related to muself rather than advocating for other people, but ultimately the best thing I can do is humble myself and listen. I do think that a lot of the oppression and toxic attitudes would be addressed to some extent if the cisheteronormative cultural norms and agents of socialization that needlessly exist were done away with or refined, then at least simply disgusting these things, or developing into a person that’s aware of the type of language and healthy ways to depict sexuality and interpersonal capacity, then at the very least people won’t see different sexualities, gender expression both physically and personally, etc as some horrible taboo thing, and can discover who they are with a full range of choices to assess

Those clips on the dating show made me want to rip my eyeballs out, literally if the camera wasn’t on when the guys were talking about ‘knowing that guy was going to be the first to leave’ I shit you not they probably would’ve started spouting slurs and insults like it was nothing.

It is good to care for kitty cats and not mistreat them, but to suggest humans should consider dating them because they can have nice qualities is bull SHIT. You might say you once knew a kitty cat and had a great time. The cat treated you nicely. Yet you really do not know kitty cats in great depth. What do they want or need? Cats are cats and not human. You should form relationships with humans. And yet be humane to cats. Why set yourself up for failure when you already know the limitations.
