In this series, the Crazy Pigeon Lady shares aspects of life as a Pigeon Mumma. In this episode she introduces one of her birds - Ana, a Lahore breed fancy pigeon.
Pigeons are my new found passion, I always liked birds but during the quarantine I found a starving baby pigeon that I have adopted, since then my depression has lifted off, I really connect with this creature, such a loyal companion!!
OMG!!! Thank you so much for telling Ana's story! She is adorable! :) It is very lucky that she was found and didn't just stay in the streets to die! She is also very lucky to have you :) So she was an adult bird when she got into your hands. right? was she skittish at first? or she was already very tame pigeon?
Thank you! Yes she was a 5 year old adult when we got her :-) she was a little skittish at first and latched onto our other bird Lola but Lola didnt like her. But she did learn from Lola that humans are okay so she did become more tame and after Lola died she bonded with my husband :-)
Shes a fancy bird and as such a poor flyer with no survival instincts so she lives mostly indoors with her friend Dewie but she has lots of time out the cage and on sunny days we put the cage outdoors so she can get fresh air and sunshine! She has vitamin d supplements to make up for nor having uv light all the time :-)
@@thecrazypigeonlady8731 Alright thanks for the answer. I would Like to get a Lahore pet but the seller says that its better to get them as pairs. Would you say they re can be fine on their own?
@@WingedExp breeders will always say to get a pair but i do think its possible to have a lone bird if you are meeting their health and social needs but are prepared to get them a friend if it doesnt work out
