My wild, mated pair has brought 2 babies back to my yard. I think they are sitting on more eggs already… THANK YOU for answering my question. All your info is confirmation of my birds routine, that I’ve observed since November. What an interesting thing taking shifts. As of now, the male is trying hard to stop feeding the babies. Those babies don’t dare ask their mother for feeding.

Question! For a domestic mated couple kept indoors. What is the best method for “birth control”? I have heard of placing fake eggs in a nest OR alternatively, not supplying nesting materials. It seems kind of sad to deprive them of the nesting experience/materials?

Hi, enjoying watching your video.I found a wild pigeon, very very thing , not a baby, I feed him/ her, kept him in our bathroom. He stared flying very well , he wanted to go out , so I kept leaving the window open , so he could come and go as he wanted , now which is really nice he roosts in our barn, he disapears for most of the day , comes back at night, I have learnt your coos and he does it back, my only concern is I don't seem to have pigeons around , we have wood pigeons, will he be OK, regards Jane.

Hi Jem - one question for you. I’ll be getting a pigeon (you converted me). I plan to put the cage outside my house in a sheltered patio and will interact with my pigeon there. At night I plan to bring the cage into the house. What’s your view on moving the cage in and out?

I have a question: what is your opinion on covering my pigeon at night for sleep when my pigeon has a nest box?

Some people cover their pigeons at night, some dont. Controlling light levels can help curb breeding behaviour and ensure your bird gets enough sleep, so its important not to keep them up late in busy rooms with lights on :-)

Hi thank you for doing these videos. I have been putting out food in my garden wild bird seed since covid started some wood pigeons come i think they are grey with purple and green colours on there necks but i wondered how you could tell if they are male and female pigeons i have named them so maybe i am calling a lady wood Pigeon a mans name. Live in the country.

I don’t think the pigeons would care if you get their sex wrong.
