That rainbow of yarn at the end!!! 🤩 I live in a city, so I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to foraging for natural dye resources, but the farmer's market/grocer has been my go-to so far! I was disappointed when my black bean dye just produced a very light beige. I need to try alum for a mordant!

Happy to have stumbled upon this video. Love how each of the yarns turned out❣️I'm trying out a small amount of sycamore bark right now. Doing a cold infusion. Might add a pinch of baking soda. Any tips for coaxing the dye out?

Interesting... I never thought of bark. I am forever in pursuit of the colour green which has proven to be very elusive. Great video!

What a stunning display of colours you’ve achieved! 😍 Question: does the grape skin-blue keep its dye or does it fade a lot with time?

I've never tried dyeing but maybe beets or hibiscus will give the red tones you're looking for plus really enjoyed this video 💕

Hey love your videos... unrelated question... is there a video about yarns and needles... like the real basic stuff... which yarn to use... which size needle for which type yarn and all....

Hi Laura! I'm eager to try dyeing with barks, and I have a question about it. I found an old paper (Home Dyeing with Natural Dyes by Margaret S Furry) about dyeing with different media. It says that barks have tannins that turn the fiber darker over time, so you need to use a post-dye chemical to halt that color change. But the chemicals seem super-toxic and I'd rather not use it in my apartment kitchen. Did you see a color change for any of your bark-dyed yarns? Thanks in advance!

Super cute sweater in the intro!! Did you use a pattern for that? Or is it an original? Please share! Thx!
