Excelente vídeo Franciscus, me gusta ver por fin algún fotógrafo que realice un vídeo de aves playeras. En mi caso el método que usas es el mismo que el mío pero yo me pego aún más al suelo y apoyo el equipo sobre el antebrazo, eso si el equipo protegido para preservarlo de la arena. La especie debe de ser primo del que solemos hacer por España, el Chorlitejo Patinegro - Charadrius alexandrinus, también bastante vulnerable. Lo dicho un placer ver este vídeo. Por cierto me imagino que las fotos son con el sony 200-600 G y la cámara A9 o A7RlV.
Por cierto, en un principio esta especie se calificó con el orden de los Charadrius pero en la época de 2000 se pasó al género de los Thinornis. Correlimos Encapuchado- Thinornis cucullatus.
Nice footage and photos Franciscus. I spent some time 2020 with Hooded Plovers at Johanna Beach (Great Ocean Rd) and was disappointed to see so many people ignoring the ‘dogs on leads when on the beach ‘signs.
I was down at Pt Addis today, there is a nesting pair there and people were walking dogs on the beach. Although the dogs I saw were all on leads I am surprised that any dogs are allowed on the beach at all when there is an endangered species nesting...
Very nice! I really miss aussie from back when I studied abroad. Definitely traveling back there one day! Love your vids, will be watching some more from your library.
