I’m literally obsessed with your bird room!! Yours has always been an inspiration for mine. I really want to add more things hanging from my bird room ceiling!! The perches coming from the wall are amazing!!
@@kaitlynt9083 yeah i suggest doing your research first, im currently trying to convince my parents to let me get a budgie and ive done a lot of research, and it shows them that you really want and are dedicated to getting and taking care of a bird. im hoping i can get one but good luck to you!
Wooow lookin forward to my sister to move out so i can turn her room into something like this haha. Your videos are a big inspiration for me to optimize the live of my birbs🙈
I like how its such a nice room that you're fangirling over it while we're fangirling over it while the tour is going on (newt is an 11/10 perch model btw)
It's incredible!! I would absolutely love to have a bird room... but my dad says there will never be a bird room in his house... so I have to wait a few years til I move out. I have three budgies and I'm planning on getting a fourth... and sometime in the future, hopefully a cockatiel or conure!
This room is awesome!!! I can’t wait to have my own house to finally be able to do this for my birds🥰 I’ve now got some great inspiration from this video, thanks🙏🏽😊 I also have a question i’m really hoping you could answer for me (or do a video on maybe??) what seeds should I use for a sprouted seed mix for my two parrotlets? And call me dumb but when I’m buying pallets, do parrotlets fall under the “small hookbills” category😅? Also what pallets to you use? I’d love so recommendations.....I really hope you see this and can give me an answer, thanks in advance😊❤️
Parrotlets do fall under the small hookbill category, generally you’re just looking for a pellet with a lower fat content that’s a good size for them to munch on. Brand wise it depends on where you are, I feed TOP’s, and have fed Roudybush. Harrison’s isn’t bad either but we’re presently switching them over to Caitec oven fresh bites or goldenfeast golden obles. (We’ve ordered both to try out so we’re not settled on a choice yet). You can sprout any seeds you want, for money saving reasons check out your grocery store’s bulk department! Barley, rye, millet, flax, pumpkin seeds are all pretty good options. You just want to aim for something a little lower fat and more nutrient-dense.
OBSESSED WITH YOUR BIRD ROOM AND THE SHIPLAP!!!!! Just a fun thought, we have a conure as well along with sugar gliders. Both messy eaters. We use the large sized bunny/chinchilla corner litter pan?? I think thats what it is and it works amazingly well for protecting the walls and for quick sanitary cleanup. You can throw the whole thing in the dish washer. We have 4 that we rotate through all the time. Lastly what we have also used with great success is the plexi glass/acrylic sheets to protect walls and bath areas. GAME CHANGER!!!! Hope that might help, I know your videos have helped us with our little Bonnie!!! She is a yellowsided green cheeked conure!! Stay safe and many thanks!!!
Newt vigorous baths must be a sight to see. Shower mats or dish drainer sponge mats may absorb the water better. A clear shower curtain cut to size overtop of the shelf and/or behind it. Of course you said there were more tweaks to be made to the room. Fantastic job!
Love it! I have a room that makes up about half of my apartment’s footprint… thinking of cutting it in half and building something like this! Love the splash guard idea!
I love newts constant Ah Choo’s they make me laugh every time. Also, your bird room and bird care is so incredible, are you considering adding more birds to your flock?
I really enjoyed watching this video, your set up is awesome! 😍 gave me a lot of ideas of how I can set up my perches and ropes and toys! Wow, thank you so much for making this fabulous video tour of your bird room! I love it! 🥰 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I've watched your videos for years and always loved them. They helped me take care of my budgie so much. Sadly I lost him three days ago on Easter. It's been really hard because he was my best friend. Thank you for your videos!
Can I just say this is one of the nicest setups Ive seen. Its soo hard to make cages, etc look nice because bird stuff is always made w crazy colours that usually look tacky and too much if youre into minimalistic / non cluttery look. This is just BEAUTIFUL. Also thank u for not harding every incb of the room to the point where birds cant move from all the toys like most other vids. Thank u for sharing! ❤️❤️😍😍😍
I love your videos so much! I don’t have a bird since my life is a little too crazy for that at the moment with Highschool and everything, but I’m hoping someday I’ll have my own! I’m so glad you got your channel back. I hope you have a great day!
Such an inspiring video! :D I'm wanting to make a large bird room for my four budgies, I can't wait! ^ ^ This video helps alot, it gives me some guide-lines on a safe setup. Thank you, happy 2020. Have a wonderful day. :)
Bit guards used for horses would work really well as a wall protector! They are made of rubber so would be very durable and are fairly inexpensive, I’m not sure how good the rubber would be for the birds but I thought it would be worth suggesting
Thank you for all the content you've been sharing. Its so valuable and it means so much to us. Like really im fangirling over everything you post hehe. I do have a question though. The height at which the cages are is perfect but how do you manage to do the once in a while full and complete cleaning of the cage? ( like get everything out and wash it)?
Oh btw i wanted to share what has helped me in setting up toys and rotating them quick and easy. Im kinda lazy sometimes so i find it boring to "unscrew " and screw the metal link on the top of most toys so ive bought a bunch of those colourful plastic chains that actually come in pieces and not the chain all together and i hang each toy from the plastic link and the plastic link is so much easier and quicker to be set on that the metal one. Omg sorry if my english was weird hope i made sense!
so when treating/training with millet, do you just give one individual seed instead of using one of the sprigs and having the bird take a bite off of that and get a bunch of the small seeds? That's what I've been doing with my parrotlet but he always takes a giant bite and takes a lot and also takes a while to finish eating, but seeing your jars of the individual seed maybe I'm doing it wrong? Thanks
Hi I know this isn’t a bird trick video but I have a question. So I have 2 budgies and they live in the same cage and when I try to take them out and train them they always distract each other and when I try to take one out at a time they also end up distracting each other how can I get them to concentrate thanks
I have a bird room It my bedroom I attached lots of perches and ropes around the room. For my budgie (jack) and my African grey (tinkerbell) When I set it up mum said you have to get big perches for tinkerbell So the perches are African grey sized but jack can use them as well If I got small budgie sized perches rinks would have trued to stand on them. So Yeah
Please please do show how you Mount your perches or better make your own? I want to but I don’t know what and how to get the mounting hardware into the perch part (drilling perch, glueing hardware into it etc) please please. Thank you.
Hi Flock Talk! Just wondering if you remember, what cage is that? I love the cage and am looking for a new one for my parakeet! and also if its two cages combined?
The bird room looks like a dream! Do you let them out of the cage to roam around the room unsupervised? Like when you go to work are they inside the cage or out in the room?
Only if someone is home, I may have them out in the room if I’m elsewhere in the house (or with another species at the moment) so they can get as much out of cage time as possible but I’m still easily available to run in if we hear a fight or something happen!
My wife and I love the room! Just wanted to know if that wall is wallpaper or wood paneling. She thinks its paneling but I disagree :) please confirm. We're enjoying the videos. Keep them coming.
Your bird room is amazing!! But it seems a little too enclosed hmmm Have you ever thought about netting the windows from outside, so that you can leave them open every now and then and the birds can get some fresh outside air and direct sunlight?
The windows already have wire mesh so they can be opened for airflow, windows get closed during recordings due to background noise issues and are closed if I’m not in the room just in case someone tries to chew on the wire. Sunlight through windows don’t provide any UV benefits, even window mesh can filter out the rays. They get most of their UV through avian full spectrum lights
Can cockatiels have plastic toys in their cage? What if they clean them all the time agresivly, is that cause it's spring and they are taking off some feathers cause it's hotter?
Fearverishly taking notes...where do you buy toys or toy making supplies. I make most of the birds toys and perches myself. I’m a little afraid to order online because I want to make sure what I’m getting or making is safe.
Flock-Talk Thanks! I have a new Conure who I can’t throw toys at fast enough! I made a bunch of blocks with teeth cut into the side and he went through them in a week. He’s bitten the rungs right off ladders...while standing on them🤣.
We designed ours to have an easy clean floor, smooth material that can easily be wiped clean. Prior to that I relied heavily on towels. Placing them under the high traffic areas/ areas try relax in most kept most of the mess down. Towels under food areas also caught most of the seed. Keeps everything relatively contained, easily shaken off outside and tossed in a washing machine!
Just be careful with sprouters. I don’t know if you’re planning on using grow lights or not, but some types get REALLY hot and might hurt your birds if they get curious. I grow my own plants and I’ve burned myself a few times just accidentally touching the light.
Thanks for the heads up! Right now we’re not planning on using any extra lights, more aiming for low-light easy setups so we won’t have to worry about hiding extra cables. No idea what we’re even planning yet!
