It was Joe’s birthday and we decided to fulfil his wish of tasting the early morning biryani at Hoskote. What was planned as a quick biryani stop at Anand Dum Biryani on a Sunday ride turned into a leisurely celebration featuring the team at the eatery and some of our viewers too. The setting also provided the opportune backdrop for a conversation on the biryani and why it is important to have an open mind to savour the many regional interpretations of this popular dish in every region.

Loved it when you clearly described pulao & Biriyani… would advocate the similar thing to many when they would despise donne Biriyani or Hoskote Biriyani… you described it beautifully Sir !! Been there last Sunday.. Disappointing hardly we could find mutton pieces.. We got few chunks of mutton. Drove from Bangalore, waited for 1 hr in the queue. It was disappointing.

Lovely video, happy to see your friends enjoying the biryani. Yes Joe said it right. If the rice has all the flavour its nice to eat more unlike the layered biryani where the rice is white and dry as its not mixed with the masala and meat. Not sure for how many years your friends have lived in Bengaluru. If they hv been there for more than 3-4 yrs then its time for them to start conversing in Kannada , at least bare minimum. I am not criticizing. I am sure as you influence them with your food , you can also influence them to start speaking in Kannada so locals will feel more happy . I hope they read this message and take to learning Kannada seriously. I lived in Ahmedabad for 2 yrs , loved the locals hospitality. I can read and understand Guajarati and had begun speaking a bit also , but left the city.
