Srikanth you are wrong...I am from ooty and I've seen so many of these animals since a kid,,,and looking by the way of it...its is still a very young one...relatively 2 or so years...so I think the road was just like this when it was born...not much changes...but your point is kinda funny
My respect for dog has increased, the way its defending its area/home and knowing there's a monster in front of it 100 times more powerful ! Man's best friend !
@@adiladilbasha4234 Dogs are a menace. Except barking, reproducing and creating a nuisance they are worth nothing. Also, they scare away precious wildlife like birds, which is terrible for the environment.
@@adiladilbasha4234 Nonsense. They are just animals. A thief comes and pets them, and they will wag their tail. For them, humans are just master dogs. Only Bollywood and the British consider them as "loyal" friends. If we all had a heart, we would have cared for the numerous animals and bird species that are on the verge of extinction thanks to us human beings. Let us care for our wildlife, innocent animals and birds whose territory we have cruelly taken away, like this poor Bison.
@@blackbolt5839 Yes, I know that. And I know it's the largest and strongest modern bovine in the world. I was just speculating that the name "bison" is often used as a popular colloquial name for the same animal, and many of the Indian commenters here affirm my speculation. I wonder if you're mistaking me for another commenter.
That is not a Bison, it is a Gaur. Here I will tell them the differences and similarities between Gaur and Bison. While the 2 measure the same, the Bison has a hump that makes it taller. The Gaur has a more marked musculature than that of the bison. Both fight with different predators, but the most powerful thing they have faced was, the Gaur to the fearsome Bears of Tibet, and meanwhile, the most extreme that the Bison has faced was the huge and fearsome Grizzly Bears, which almost Always, both beat the previous 2 bears mented. The weight of both giants is per ton and a half or so. The horns of the Gaur are medium and medium sharp and those of the medium bison are small and sharp. In conclusion, the horns of the Gaur are larger than those of the Bison but those of the Bison are more sharp. While both are just as tall and heavy, the Bison has a bigger head than the Gaur. The Gaur has a thin layer of hair that almost does not look how small and reliable it is, while the Bison has a thick and warm coat of wool type fur. The Gaur prefers hot places like the Buffalo Cape, while the Bison has seen it as much as in the deserts of the hot Wild West as in Siberia of the cold and gigantic Russia. But in general they prefer cold and snowy places. The gaur has a huge giba, and the Bison also has it, but unlike the Bison it has a chin, and the Gaur does not. Well, that's all I remember for now.
Lucas M, It's also known as Bison man. It's scientific name is Bos Gaurus. That is Indian Bison which is also found in some other South Asian countries also like Thailand, Vietnam, Combodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and all. But I think their highest population is in India.
The animal looks calm well fed. Who is wild in this video, I think it is only studying and observing the local are. It would rather make the area grass land and quieter.
Yeah all if them makes it back man!! It's very normal here. These gaurs almost everyday takes a stroll outside the forest and then they go back where they came From. The only risk factor is in Their mating season when they are very agitated but other than that they are very calm and don't do anything to the people. But they are extremely powerful 😅😅
india still is magical, a nation with a huge population and poverty, with real wealth life as mother Earth intended May god bless india with peace and happiness
Dog is great.. Knows he is small in size.. Yet face the enemy bravely.. Teaching a life lesson.. Real life problems are our enemies.. No use of power and strength if not used..
He/she is definitely a poser😂😂. When he saw cameras clicking, he stood right there in the centre, gave his best pose and walked away like a pro. He was like, ' alright guys, here's have a nice piece of me to make your day '.
Perhaps the word "bison" is used as a common popular name for gaurs in India? This is the first time I have seen it. The English colonizers of India may have named it that, derived from the European wisent, which in America became "bison," to this Indian bovine because of its resemblance to the wisent, or bison.
There is no such thing as an indian bison, this animal is correctly called a gaur, it is incorrect to call gaurs bison and it is also incorrect to call bison buffalo.
No, I am sure it originated from the Bhojpuri word "bhaisun ( भैंसन्)" for buffaloes. The Englishmen heard it, pronounced it as bison not knowing the locals actually called it the Gaur and were only explaining that it was a wild breed of buffaloes. The Englishmen then went on to serve in their American colonies along with Lord Clive and carried the name with them. 😂😂😂
No the English colonizers were just serving their buffaloes milk to Indians so that Indians could work for them😂 they did not knew about this type of big cow before.
@@mrht6094 I don't see him putting grammar-challenged people into concentration camps or shooting them or gassing them. So where's the Nazism. It's no different to correct someone's spelling or grammar as it is to correct any other inaccuracy of fact.
@Kago Taming and @D Dy, actually, the gayal/mithun and gaur are not different, the gayal/mithun is actually a domesticated subspecies of gaur, also the genus Bos is polyphyletic because bison (genus Bison) are phylogenetically nestled within it, thus restricting the genus Bos to only the aurochsen (cladistically including the domestic cattle and zebu), while the yak, gaur (cladistically including the gayal/mithun), banteng (cladistically including the bali cattle), and kouprey are all removed from the genus Bos and relocated to two separate genera being Poephagus and Bibos respectively, the genus Poephagus (Yak Lineage) is actually the sister genus to the bison (genus Bison), the aurochsen (genus Bos) are the sister genus to the Poephagus + Bison clade to the exclusion of Bibos, making the genus Bibos (Gaur Lineage) the most basal and distantly related from all the other extant genera of true cattle (subtribe Bovina), meaning that the aurochsen (cladistically including the domestic cattle and zebu) and yak are all more closely related to bison than they are to the gaur (cladistically including the gayal/mithun), banteng (cladistically including the bali cattle), and kouprey.
I remember the first time I saw a gaur in a zoo. I was astounded at what a magnificent animal it was. At the same time I was also astonished to find out that tigers are capable of killing these creatures 4 to 5 times their size. But of course, as with lions and Cape Buffalo in Africa, they target the young, the old, the injured and the sick. This is not cowardice on the predator's part. It is certainly sensible hunting. We humans don't fight our prey hand to hand; we use guns or bows and arrows and spears, none of which the animals have. And we even do it from hiding, trying to prevent the animal from detecting us. Nothing brave or macho about that. At least, like the actor Kurt Russell has done, have balls enough to hunt boars with just a spear, face to face.
Great Indian Bison is such a majestic animal, strolling like a King on the road. It must be some where in the the Kerala, because people are speaking malayalam. India is really lucky to have such gentle giants.
Literally ... They are almost pure muscle ... Mere hisaab se just their neck strength is equal to that of 4-5 average men ...!!!! They have unfathomable strength ... Especially their neck is extremely powerful
