This is a repair I am about to fix an iPhone XS which keeps rebooting every few minutes whilst in use, this is quite a common problem with these phones and isn't usually board related and can be done by anyone with enough patience.

Multimeter: Rigol DM3058E
Bench Power Supply: Rigol DP831
Oscilloscope: Rigol MSO1104Z
Heat Plate: Blackjack BK2050
Solder Station: Everything is JBC!
Microscope: Amscope 7X-45X Trinocular Stereo Zoom
Simulfocal
Microscope Camera: Amscope HDMI Camera with Lens
Bench Camera: Sony A6400
IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol): MG Chemicals 99.9% Pure
Flux: Amtech

This man is a genius and a true master of the field. I’m having the exact symptoms after water got in the port and I kept trying to charge it…. Reboots every 3 mins and sluggish asf

Hi, Wayne very good video mate, am getting this problem on my xs iphone, got a new battery in it first because was on 78% but it did not fix it, then i seen your video and the prsO sensor code is which i have got so can you tell me where i can get a good reliable charging port from and i can order one please cheers, also can you tell me if my battery health will come back as normal got a warning saying its not a genuine i have been told that it will be back to normal after about 14 days, it will put it self right if you can let me no if thats right please (many thanks)

i got Missing sensor(s): Prs0 service and reboot every 3 min after about 12hrs from an event of water contact of the iphone xs under tap . Also the faceid got disabled. I'm surprised how such a little bit of gently tap water made such serious damages. Does the charging port actually needs to be replaced because of permanent damage or there's maybe just some corrosion or dirt? Maybe with isopropyl alcool i could clean it, if only i could narrow to some part the cleaning. Opened the phone and i can't see any evidence of water ingress. Can the charging port be cleaned? What you think?

Hi, sorry this isn't just a parts replacement, its likely to be related to board split, you would have to split the boards and check for torn pads between the layers, this sensor is on the bottom side of the two boards.

@@BitRepairs ok thank for answering i found NTC_RADIO_PA_P 422mv but it must be 780mv diode readings. this lines are directly go to power ic. Is it possible to replace power ic without become problem with cpu? Thank you very much for answering. i think in my case power ic is demage becouse the line goes directly to power ic

Hello, i've used a battery programmer on a 12 pro max battery and now it gives an error in panic logs " missing sensors prs0 /nservice:backboard" and the phone reboots every 3 minutes i removed the flex that was coded for the battery but the issue persists... what can the problem be ?

PRS0 is the data lines from the board to the battery also known as gas gauge, you should first check the reading on the board side in diode mode on the data lines pins for the battery and if you get the right reading (usually around 0.700 if i remember right) then you should check for voltage on the data lines on the battery, it’s usually around 1-2 volts whatever’s missing will be your problem, sorry I can’t explain the whole diagnostics process but this should give you a good pointer.

@@BitRepairs a gsm service checked the conectors visualy and said it's the motherboard, from your experience in this case can it be the motherboard or most of the time it s the charging port ?

This has got to be the worst batch of XS's ever. I had so much issues with these and indeed, narrowing it down is exactly the thermalmonitord timeout (3 minute reboot) and refuses to charge. I lost data because of it and i _hate_ apple at this point. The screens on release where defective. The hardware can't take anything and it's bricked already. Sigh.
