This song is actually a bit more personal to me It’s about how i felt after having to leave an abusive relationship with my ex-friend Especially with the stigma around leaving someone, feeling free from that relationship made me feel guilty I think if you’re scared of leaving an uncomfortable relationship, you should ask yourself if you’re really happy about that relationship and if they are hurting other people. Don’t worry about me now, I have people I truly care about now and they don’t manipulate my girlfriend into spending less time with me

Ok, I know responding to a 4 year old comment is crazy, but can you imagine what that anime would have to be to end this way? Like this song already hits hard enough, put a whole plot line before it and I think it would literally kill me, especially if it was a one season situation and it just left there. Ahh, what a painfully relatable song... I used to have someone like that in my life. I thought that I was never better understood and loved in the golden period of our friendship, but it all horrifyingly fell apart. When I finally decided I couldn't take it anymore and broke off contact... well, this song masterfully portrays how I felt. I'm very fortunate that years later, we were able to talk about what happened and forgive one another before parting ways again, because we were on very different paths of life by then, and our old relationship couldn't be re-kindled. But from what I understand, that kind of closure might not be possible for you, right...? With how everything has gone, it may very well be better to just never look back. But, it brings me relief to know that the negative feelings in the song aren't controlling you like they used to. I'm sorry for everything that happened, and I hope it feels good to have worked through those emotions in an artistic way. And, please don't forget, we love you and we'll be here for you.

I absolutely adore this song, I love all of your songs in fact. Especially since now they just became a whole other level of relatable for me. I recently had to end a toxic relationship with a friend, and it crushed me to know that she was hurting, even if she hurt me more times then I've ever hurt her. This song just reminds me that people change and that I can move on. And even if I'll be alone for a while, I'll find the right people eventually. Thank you!

can we take a moment to appreciate the shadows? They're a small detail but a great one none the less. Jon could have easily done the circle under their feet or no shadows at all, but they made moving shadows for every character in the video. I appreciate small details like that Edit: The shadows also change angles to show time passing at the end of the video!

This song recently gave me the courage to end a toxic friendship. It's really hard to hurt the people that you care about, but when you realize that someone simply doesn't care about you the way you care for them, it's important to consider what's most important to you, and what will keep you happy. This song represents the light at the end of the tunnel, explaining that it'll be hard, and the other person will be deeply hurt, and try so, so hard to keep you in their grasp, but you need to do what's best for you. And the relief really is real. Thank you for the music you put out, Yon. I hope you know, it really helps a lot of people, and it helped me.

This hits pretty close to home. My ex girlfriend sort of left me in shambles. Apparently she was leading me on for a month or so (Our relationship was longer than that, so she sorta lost feelings). I used to think that she was gonna come back, but one day I looked at things how they were. She was an emotional abuser, who manipulated me and treated me like garbage the entire relationship. I had attachment issues, so I was afraid to leave. Now that I’m without her, I’m so proud to be alone, and I know I deserve better. While I guess I didn’t have the strength to leave myself, which I should have done, I’m still so proud to never accept her back into my life again. I know I deserve better, and I finally love myself and can accomplish my dreams without an anchor like her weighing me down.

a lot of people have their own personal experiences relating to this song, and i want to chime in. i moved to australia around 2 years ago, and my first friend was someone who ill call D. he introduced me to two more friends, and after a year, he leaked a mildly mean message i sent without context to my whole class (they all bullied me). i think it was a breaking point for him since he was bring increasingly rude towards me and my two other friends. the message spread throughout the whole school and i nearly killed myself. luckily the school holidays arrived and everything kinda fizzled out from there. we both ignore each other, but i realised hes trying to earn back my two friends trust, and im worried that he’s trying to take away the only people i have supporting me(i maybe am a bit paranoid). but i glad we are done with each other, he was a very toxic person.

My theory is that the person is celebrating the end of a toxic friendship with someone who wanted to control and manipulate them. The person feels slightly wrong to celebrate the idea that their abusive friendship is over, yet feels freed from the struggle that they had dealt with throughout the course of the friendship. I'm so proud of you for being able to leave that friend. It takes a lot of courage and strength. I've been listening to this song for so long, and can honestly say that you manage to make me feel good about the people I left behind for the betterment of my mental health. I commend you for this, this song genuinely makes me smile, and I don't think I've ever really felt this way about a song. Thank you :) I decided to make this comment after so many times of listening because now I am finally going to be leaving my mother, someone I feel such guilt over leaving yet.. she was clingy, invasive, manipulative, and cruel. Why was it that literally yesterday 24 hours ago exactly I was desperately trying to write a song that expressed my emotions about a girl I've been with for awhile, and I was really struggling with trying to describe it, but this video comes out and explains my feelings and emotions perfectly. I guess I just never wanted to see myself as being (daresay) bitter and blunt about our relationship since she seems a lot more invested in it than I was, and I just don't wanna break her heart. Edit: a happy ending to the story, as strange as it might seem to say it, the girl and I have been officially broken up for about a month now. I still feel like I should have done more while we were still together and she didn't deserve the distance I put between each other (she did the same thing too, so I guess it shows we were really not meant to be), and I still feel strange how I don't regret or miss her as much or at all. I feel so strange and selfish, like how I still interpret the song. Some things don't change so quickly, but that's just how emotions go sometimes.

My ex friend used to insult a lot to every one of our group, when I had enough I decided to say it, but she and her best friend decided to make a drama on fb(post). It ended up them talking trash about me and me asking to take it to private and responding when they didnt, I finally decided to end the relationship and after a week I felt free, for once in my life. I don't regret leaving them, but kind of do because in that group there are some that are like me, trapped in that relationship. Now they've done the same to another girl, she left and then told me she was finally free, and guilty aswell. Idk, this experience is like a story I wanted to share, hope you understand. I decided to click on this video on a whim, as I don't usually watch furry content on youtube (despite being a massive furry at heart), and boy was I pleasantly surprised. High quality music, a theme I can relate to, and goddamn you got some amazing attention to detail! Good work :)

This hits close to home for me, I was in a relationship for about 6 months but it wasnt working out. I didnt feel guilty though, I knew if it went on it would just hurt us both. still love the song.

I feel like this is one of those videos I'll keep coming back to, even as the intervals between each watch grows longer for some time only to rediscover it later, and yet still feel like I haven't fully appreciated it. There's so many little details here and a very relatable theme. As always, your animation and music are amazing!

I feel emotions :'3 This reminds me of my extremely controlling friend from elementary school, who forced us to play with her EVERY DAY. If we ever forgot, we would be 'in trouble' and weren't allowed to talk to her or any of the rest of our friend group for the whole day. I thought it was poop, but I seemed to be the only one who noticed. I managed to get away in middle school, but I was still friends with some of my former friends. They never caught on, and she got worse. She started making fun of people behind their backs, and she then lost a lot of people. Apparently, she's gotten better. I'm still afraid to try being her friend again, and I'm always incredibly uncomfortable around her. Her parents got divorced recently. I feel really bad for her and want to be able to comfort her, but I don't think it's worth putting my trust in her again.
