Christie and Sam hit up the Bitterroot River in Montana chasing a late Mahogany hatch BUT find some western Montana strange instead. #flyfishing #montana #theflyproject
jon kenny okay sure we’ll it really depends on the river but in general there is a good chance to fish BWO (Blue Winged Olives) May fly’s and also possibly October Caddis which is a big orange colored Caddis fly. October is also a good time to fish streamer patterns again... because water temperatures are cooling down again.
Jake Purlee ha thanks for that... I thought so... I always called them a squaw fish but when I googled squaw fish the pike minnow came up. Lots of these dudes all over the Bitterroot and Clark Fork and we almost never catch them on the Missouri
native all over the west slope. wa, id, or, montana. i caught some huge ones over the years the big ones love trout streamers and usually give a good run.
