On November 14th 2019 Bitwig came to SchneidersLaden to present the symbiosis of modular synthesizers with software! Fredrik Astevall specifically explains the use of Bitwig Studio with external hardware.
With the use of a DC-coupled soundcard you can integrate both worlds (analog/digital) and use the benefits of both sides of the (USB) cable.

This is one of the best demo's of its kind I've yet seen. Bitwig would do themselves a favor by creating more of these as tutorials and as doodles and patches are built between Polygrid, other software tools, and Eurorack. This also makes me wonder if something like Xferrecords Cthulhu can output to Eurorack?

Sounds cool - looks cool too. If I had money to burn I'd consider something like this, but that Eurorack setup must be at $3000-4000 dollars.

That price tag is conservative for building a self contained eurorack rig! It's possible for less, but for real, if you're not loaded, other kinds of hardware may be a better buy for you.

Hi @schneidersladen please encourage your guests to repeat the question back into the microphone. I haven't seen your showroom to know whether everyone in the room can easily hear, but for sure usa on the intarwebz can't hear what the gallery is saying.

From jumping through the video a bit it seems super powerful but also very complex to get into. I guess there are a lot of people who will enjoy this, mainly if they work with a DAW already, but it's too complicated for me as a simple wiggler ;)

Actually, I'd say it is very easy. You do need some basic elemental understanding of sound/synths etc.. but the workflow in bitwig for this type of stuff is some of the easiest available. Everything is designed to be quick, readable, and easy to use.

A daw is for sure a complicated interface compared with an analog step sequencer, but I'd rather use bitwig than any complex hardware sequencer.
