I really love the contrast of her message; having confidence in yourself because you have more control of your life than you think, versus the night vision/ creepy music video as she smiles while singing in the dark. I feel like it's sort of a depiction of how we are all in the dark as we progress in our life. We will never know what the future hold of us but we can be confident in knowing we did enough, that we tried, and at least we handled what we can control is in our hands to the best of our ability. despite the uncertainty life has in store for us. So why be fearful in the dark? Bjork is embracing this uncertainty in her music video by dancing in the dark. Inviting us to do the same.
I have her first recording as a child, singing Icelandic stories...many years ago... She is a Genius Goddess! I am always thrilled when anything new comes out...even older stuff.
It feels like she's speaking a whole new language, her voice is so beautiful it doesn't sound real, it feels strange to think she's only speaking English. Yet she makes it sound so extraterrestrial.
#LYRICS Look no further Look no further I look no further Cruelest, almost Always to ourselves It mustn't get Any better, off It's in our hands It always was It's in our hands In our hands It's all there In our hands It's all there In our hands Well, now aren't we Scaring ourselves Unnecessarily? Aren't we trying too hard? 'Cause it's in our hands It's in our hands It's all here It's in our hands Look no further I look no further It's in our hands It always was It's in our hands It's in our hands It's in our hands It's in our hands
@@acctgsbelajar It means that what we need to succeed, love, be ourselves, be safe, everything we've always needed is within us or at our reach. In the beginning where she says "look no further" that is because the power, the love, the strength that you need is within your hands and your reach. When she says "cruelest almost always to ourselves" that is true, if we loved and accepted ourselves truly, we'd realize that our future and our love purpose is "in our hands- it always was" Also, when she says "aren't we scaring ourselves, unnecessarily, aren't we trying too hard" it means there is nothing to be afraid of, we are causing this fear and upheaval. In "Undo" off Vespertine, she also talks about trying too hard, life/love/relationships being meant to be easier, "lean into it" which is something that people tell you when you are scared. Embrace it. "It's not meant to be a strife" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9IhzsYd33lI.html At least that is what it means to me:)
I thought this was a new song, lol. Tbf, this song isn't on any major album, just a greatest hits compilation. But yeah, I got all excited for nothing :/
Sample track is "Clouds" by Gigi Masin, also famously sampled by Nujabes in his track "Latitude". Instantly recognizable. It's incredible how Bjork has been able to transform the peaceful, serene sample into a moody broody one.
Didn't know this and it's incredible how many layers of background tracks/musical layers Bjork has included in this track. It's similar to a few songs by Massive attack which are also incredibly "multi layered" with tracks/sounds.
Björk’s music has helped me work through, understand, and process so much of my life. I can’t believe how influential music can be, especially when it’s from someone with such raw humanity as Björk
it’s terrifying at times but it captures raw humanity for sure there’s a lot people are afraid to see about themselves but she isn’t that is why only some people get it
Vespertine and Greatest Hits era is my absolute favourite ! The melody is so much better that other eras. And the LoFi electronic sounds are so damn fascinating and psychedelic.
This is definitely one of my favourite Björk songs! Spike Jonze made a really nice work for this video, it reflects her connection with nature so well. And she looks so beautiful pregnant here ❤
The creepiness of her videos, and sometimes even artistic, is why I love her videos so much. I can see something crawling away in the darkness in this video. I have been a fan of Bjork's music since her song "Oh so quiet". I also loved it when she was on the Space Ghost: Coast to Coast show.
Oh hey, I recognise that sample from Nujabes. I wonder if this is where he got it from? Or if it predates both Bjork and Nujabes? EDIT: Of course, I then felt obliged to go and research it myself. The sample in question actually comes from Clouds by Gigi Masin.
It is also used on “ the amateur view” an album by (to rococo rot) to great effect the whole album is amazing but you should expect that from a German electronic band with a palindrome for a name
She is a national treasure possessing the world's rarest, and uniquely singular musical instrument, her voice. She may, indeed, have peers, but they are few and scattered throughout time.
It's in our hands, to make this fkn world unite. And, be in peace with ourselves, with our loved ones, with the ones wen fear and our half mother/half father cosmic nature. Björk, your throat is blessed with starlight.
@@jankbunky4279 surprisingly she has quite a consistent release of albums since debut. she releases most albums from the recent after 3ish 4ish years, not ever going past 5 or barely getting there. so at the most we might be getting a album this winter and at the least prolly not til' 2022 :( . hoping she teases something this winter though cus the brujas are starving.
I legit thought it was recorded in 2020. That's the magic of Bjork you completely forget what time period you're in when you listen to her or even just looking at her. She's the real life embodiment of the word "timeless." 💕💕💕💕
I have never heard of a singer who has more vocal control than bjork, her voice is strange and beautiful. And my god she is even more beautiful than her music

I love this video so much! She is literally glowing! 💖
Está em nossas mãos e no coração de uma islandeusa chamada Björk. Obrigado, baby. Por continuar nos inspirando e nos curando em tempos tão sombrios. Te amo em Full HD.
Björk never failed to amaze me with her out of this world music. I am so inspired with her music ever since that made me to create an instrumental music months ago.
I can remember listening this song so many years ago. In what I believed. When I was not so numbed. Thought my future would be brighter. Maybe it will...
Her music definitely changed my life ! ❤️ I just dont get it why so many people think that her music is so weird and false in some way. I think it is masterpiece
