There is a video on you tube where a gentleman talks about how he is a foundation breeder of Am bull dogs. In the video he states how he always wanted a black Am Bull dog. He goes on to say how he found a really heavy all black Staffy (male I think) and bred it into his dogs. He also bred a game all black APBTinto his dogs. He kept these lines for a few generations and then started breeding their offspring to one another. This is where the foundation for the black Am Bull dogs canm from. He was very honest. He noted that their temperment was a bit "hotter" because of the game dog used. He also stated that he still kept pure Am bull dogs that did not have the staffy or APBT blood
The guys name is don Matthew's, he created them, the video is called history of American Bulldogs, I think its Spanish subtitles, he's American, friend of both Scott and johnson.
I had a few long time ago but never n black. If i was to find one and took it to the vet for one of the those bloodline dna test would it has the same as the traditional color am bulldog?
Black, blue, chocolate, lilac, all of these with tan marks or in merle are not Original bulldog colors. Only true bulldog colors are red/fawn or red/reverse brindle with or without black mask and white or completely white.
Remember in school Mendel!! you can get the recessive from the dominant but you can't get the dominant from the recessive if anyone think that other dogs of various colors weren't used in the making of the American Bulldog you are crazy......
I don't know why some are wanting a black American Bulldog. Dog breeds come in specific colors and black is not one in the AB. Its like a dalmatian without spots or a white rottweiler.
Video is called history of American Bulldogs, the guys name is don Matthew's, there two lines mixed, black Stafford on one side black apbt on other, nice dogs either way,
I've seen Cane Corso crossed into the standard line and their structure is identical to the standard they're just black and absolutely stunning but not correct
I have a real Johnson AB and some of these photos are not of all pure AB, therefore they're not AB. Only two types of real AB, Johnson or Scott. To be a full AB it has to be bred with only AB but once they get mixed w other breeds multiple generations they lose their bloodline. Then they're just weird mutts.
theres two types of american bulldogs you got the scott type american bulldogs that looks more like pitbulls and then you got the johnson type american bulldogs that are big and bully looking huh people really dont no shit about american bulldogs do you dam history
Don’t know why I’m even bothering to comment on this daft video - you guys over there have said it all. Those dogs are no more AMBulldogs than Lassie was.
There's is such thing as black blue grey tri colors and full color american bulldog the misleading needs to stop they are 75 percent white with patches.
American bulldog standards for color Color: Solid white, or any color pattern including black, red, brown, fawn and all shades of brindle. **For the Johnson/Bully type only Blue Brindle & Pied are acceptable colors but still considered as cosmetic fault. Faults: Any degree of merle. Disqualification: Any Blue Color in Scott/Standard type or Solid Blue in Johnson/Bully type.
kulapepe ibit it’s possible rare though not of pure heritage you just use a black pit bull, staffy and use those with bulldogs and over 8 years that’s how you make one
