Ideas are Bulletproof the hammer defeats the tower in a fight, the hammer is supposed to represent Sauron's power and skill while the tower represents cruelty and horror
The Black Captains had such a cool design, all of them. Great voice acting across the board too. It's a shame that the Hammer was the only one that got a proper boss fight, and it wasn't even challenging. The Tower's stealth segment was lame and the Black Hand's QTE is... best left unmentioned. They learned their lesson in the second game and made better boss fights, but goddamn did it feel that the Black Captains got wasted.
I'm playing SoW but there is something I still don't understand. Are black captains like Nazgul? because I'm sure in this game they are called like that but they don't look anything like the classic Nazgul
@@michaelis2958 They are essentially high-ranking non orc servants, like the Mouth in the movies. People say the Hammer, Tower, and Black Hand are Numenoreans, which makes sense.
Well they're supposed to represent Sauron's traits. The hammer is his might and power, the tower is his ability to torture you and your psyche, while the black hand holds all his lies and deceit, all adding up to be Sauron
I know it's kinda late :D but m.b. if someone didn't know the Hammer was voice acted by the guy who's voice acted Bender from Futurama, forget his name sorry
Even though the bosses in SoW are more challenging, I still prefer the bosses of this game because the encounters themselves are so much more interesting compared to the uninteresting, dialogue spitting Nazgul bosses in SoW. I honestly prefer this game over SoW altogether just because of the atmosphere alone. I feel like the tone that was set in the this game was kind of lost in SoW.
Just Ler That’s because they weren’t going for the same atmosphere. Hate to tell you this but it is a different game with a completely different focus...
I like how they bring back this sound 1:23 for the uruk in Shadow of War when they do heavy attack in a group at the same time. I really love that sound effect.
He would be more owned if you had an ability that let you do unlimited executions xD. What i love about this game. You can straight up do the story or you could side track and become too op for the story xD.
Yea I accidentally did that. Was too busy hunting level 20 captains for runes. When I finally did this I had 30 seconds of sword executions that wrecked him -.- . Robbed myself of the challenge and reward lol. I’ve had captains that were much deadlier & satisfying kills :c
Nico Centeno I guess it sounds better then being called The Mace Which it kinda does The Hammer sounds better (Or Sauron was just really picky when choosing what to call his lieutenants)
@Stoneryoda 937 Yea to me Shadow of War didn't have the same level of heart in it. The game felt more like it was made by a corperation rather than a group of passionate developers. It may sound weird, but that's just what comes to mind when I think about it
I don't understand why Shadow of War had to break so much from the lore. Why didn't they just do like the first game? For example how the Nazguls became. Couldn't they have just made up some warlords/chieftains of Harad, Rhun and Middle-Men lords to become Ringwraiths? Not used Minas-Ithil as the fortress to become Minas Morgul, but maybe other garrison in Ithilien. Celebrimbor didn't escaped from Mordor with the One Ring, but perished in the dungeons in Barad-Dur. Or Shelob and Sauron had a relationship. Because that was just weird. Just to name some examples that didn't needed to break canon.
Black Hand isn’t fully known. The Tower and Hammer were humans once. The Hammer was actually a simple Gondor stretcher bearer before he found Sauron’s mace.
