I have a feeling that the “end game” of 40k will be hive fleet leviathan and Abaddons black crusade converging on Terra at the same time. You get an epic 3-way war for terra but then the Eldar and Tau come to humanity’s aid knowing that the destruction of humanity will leave them both vulnerable to chaos and Tyranids.
Roboute Gulliman then forms a permanent alliance with the Eldar and Tau in the wake of their victory at the battle of Terra. The Emperor dies during the battle but is reborn in the warp as a new God. He then battles the chaos gods in the warp. The triarchy alliance of Man, Eldar and Tau then fight a way cleansing Chaos from the galaxy when the final Tyranid Hive fleet arrives: Hive fleet Gargantuan. Gargantuan is the complete Tyranid race and it makes leviathan look like a splinter fleet. The whole galaxy is invaded from all sides by the Tyranids and millions of worlds and billions of lives are lost. Eventually the Tyranids are defeated and cease to exist as a species apart from small splinter fleets that escaped from multiple battles. In the wake of this, the emperor (now a warp god) instructs Roboute to lead an invasion into the warp. The triarchy alliance along with some Necron dynasties invade the warp and engage in epic battles vs the forces of chaos with the emperor.
Wouldn't work. The shadow in the Warp is a pretty strong counter to Warp nonsense and every person killed by the Tyranids is one less individual to power the Warp. Chaos does not want to destroy humanity, the Tyranids do. On the flip side, Ascension day pretty clearly shows that some of the best leaders the Imperium has are Gene stealers, making sure their food is safe. We even had the Chaos/Space Marine team up vs the Tyranids during the Desecration of Baal. The only faction that would work with the Tyranids are the Storm Lords followers, because the Necrons in general are uninteresting to the Tyranids and he's not interested in reversing Biotransferance.
The t'au and eldar will NOT come to aid the imperium lmfao, the t'au are taking the chaos in imperial space as a chance to expand and the eldar are only allied with them out of convenience
Even if Abaddon wins, I don't know if he will have much left of an army to crusade with, after having to engage 2 different fleets of similar size and power in quick succession.
This happens with any major chaos campaign should it not be vanquished/shattered/broken. In the aftermath of the 13th. Countless chaos forces broke off to try and seize portions of the imperium for their own little empires. Roboute came for them with a vengence, remarking they were like the marines after the heresy. A mighty force now disorganized and easy pickings
What many fail to recall, or maybe recognize, is that every black crusade had a goal. These goals were meet during every single crusade before falling back to the eye. It was all about preparing for the 13th black crusade. Remember, there is a reason it is called the long war by the forces of chaos. All the cards needed to be placed just right, for things to go the way they abaddon wants.
Talon of Horus is a great book to listen to on audible. Gives the origin of the Black legion and has you rooting for them. I'll be building my own black legion miniatures soon
Sorry for getting off-road here, but the thumbnail of this video looks so similar to the StarCraft: Broodwar loading screen when you attack planet Korhal, it's absolutely insane 😂 I genuinelly confused Horus with a Command Center in the first plan and the desert in the background
If it takes thirteen tries to win than perhaps its time to be the subtle blade rather than a hedge hammer, which ironically was the thing that made him almost win in Cadia with his initial surprise attack.
🟡🟠🔴 The Emperor (if the Molech event is not created by the Alpha Legion) once entered the Warp valiantly fought the Dark Gods with his faith and devotion, conquering within himself the last pure light that still shone in the dimension now consumed, becoming in fact the true and just God of humanity. Is it too much from the outset to show him aware that having religious faith in him is vital to defending against Chaos? I really think not. How does the Emperor, during the Council of Nikea, convince his sons of the importance of Librarians? Using as example Sanguinius and Lorgar Aurelian! Plus, to help Leman Russ and Corvus Corax understand. Since the Emperor is the God of Humanity, thanks to Lorgar Aurelian all of Colchis is freed and purified from the cult of Chaos (thanks to his colchisian crusaders led by the true and pious Erebus: Truth Bearers). Lorgar Aurelian is the one who then founds the Ecclesiarchy with his Crusader Order: the Frateris Militaris. Lorgar Aurelian is like Ascalon Troyes, equal to Rogal Dorn and Sanguinius! (Illuminarum is not a maul but a mace) If Rogal Dorn is the Latin Catholic then Lorgar Aurelian is the Greek Orthodox. And that's why the name of his Legion, the Word Bringers (Word Bearers + Truth Bringers). (Byzantine Crusader type) Primarch Ulysses II Legion Iron Snakes Homeworld Ithaka; Primarch Casmero XI Legion Silver Skulls Homeworld Varsavia. The Emperor uses the Traitors's Gene Seed to recreate the fallen Legions: The new III Legion are the Red Scorpions (Primarch Devortus Gault, Homeworld Zaebus), the new IV Legion are the Minotaurs (Primarch Theseus, Homeworld Artherion), the new VIII Legion are the Black Dragons (Primarch Murad Agha, Homeworld Burso), the new XIV Legion are the Doom Eagles (Primarch Severin, Homeworld Cailleach), the new XV Legion are the Blood Ravens (Primarch Mikael Corveda, Homeworld Aurelia), the new XVI Legion are the Scythes of the Emperor (Primarch Kaius Krav, Homeworld Sotha), the new XX Legion are the Mortifactors (Primarch Arpaza, Homeworld Posul).
The grand total of his forces don't amount to all that much. People give the guy shit but somehow taking 13 tries to tear an Empire of a million worlds assunder is unimpressive? The guy was a regular Space Marine and in 11,000 years the combined forces of the Imperium of man weren't able to kill him, in spite of him frequently being on the front lines.
No The meme about him is that for every major victory the imperium always comes back with a vengeance, making all his progress seem like some dude from epirus at best 😅
The warp ghosts... the mirror of the legion of the damned... where the damned legion shines with anathema, the warp ghosts are the abyss of the chaos forces....
Oh my god that whining laser sound effect is so hard on the ears. I could barely focus on what the narrator was saying during the fleet battle because of how frequently it was playing.
I had been liking the new lore for Fail-badon in these past years since the opening of the Great Rift, rewriting Abbadon's many failed crusades as all part of a larger plan and making the pale copy of Horus a unique and compelling character in his own right, even making him less his daddy's "Yes Man" and actually tries to convince his Primarch to let go of Chaos and wage the rebellion as the Warmaster of old, not the puppet of the dark gods he had become. But sadly.... that was all ruined when the fire nation attac.... 😂 The End and the Death books ruined my new perceptions on the guy. For those who know, you know. I still recommend reading them. Just be prepared to lose some fan favorite characters of the Horus Heresy. Fail-badon the Harmless earned my undying hatred, third only to the "Hand of Fate" himself... Freaking wretched, bald, yee yee a$$ Erebus.... Still love that yall are covering 40k, can't wait to see more!
Yes indeed. Many of them do, at least in as much as the Japanese soldiers followed their code of "honour" when they slaughtered civilians. I would advise reading the black legion books, they offer interesting perspectives on the chaos astartes beyond "mouahahaha, I'm evil"
Failbaddon is probably one of the worst chaos leaders, he's got a bad rep and its well deserved, compare him to Archon Nadzybar, Urlock Gaur or Heritor Asphodel and hes just so pathetic
This is a nonsense take on a few levels. 1) there's no lore on the first 12 black crusades so there's nothing to retcon 2) the simple fact that he went up against the whole Imperium of man 12 times and wasn't killed by them or his own people makes him successful 3) maybe he's not a genius but he knows how to count. He "lost" 12 times not 13. The 13th Crusade was definitely a win.
@@Marcusianery his called armless because of his old model and by people who get their lore from memes, he was not retconned into victory each black crusade had a different goal that was met not all of them were targeting cadia
