Love the fact that these tools are actually being used by you and being reviewed by a person that has experience with these tools... Not just taking it out brand new from a box and reviewing it
I have their first Gen drill that I picked almost 10 years ago with all attachments with two other batteries and bag. I've used all tools for countless jobs and I can say with the utmost confidence, this is the best investment for a DIY person. Love it. I'd like to pick up the new drill for the built in light and for a second drill to have. I'd recommend it.
Black and Decker should pay you to promote this video and pay you for making it. I would have purchased these tools long ago if I knew about them. Just bought the whole set! Now I'm going to buy that bag. Thanks for the info.
I got the matrix drill & impact wrench when I was broke, & added attachments as needed. I'm a facilities manager, & now have some Hilti, & pro-grade Makita, Milwaukee & Dewalt at my disposal. Thing is, the bag & attachments work really well & are so compact, I still use them all the time w/o any problems. I would't use them for really heavy duty work, but same goes for a lot of prosumer stuff. Matrix is a great setup & the batteries are terrific & cheap. Btw, the drill has much less runout than my Dewalt XR, & a lot of XR’s have this problem.
The Black and Decker Firestorm quick connect chuck (FSD112) is the BEST DRILL ever made. I believe they have a patent on it because i've never seen them bring the design back with li-po batteries. you can only get old ones with older style batteries. i have yet to see a better chuck for quickly changing between pilot drilling and screw driving
I bought one of these a couple years ago with most of the attachments you've shown (no router) I definitely recommend this unit. The fact that I can throw all these in a bag and put it under the back seat of my truck is great. You're never stuck in a situation without tools. I didn't even know they had a router, and yes I'm getting one now, thanks for the video bud.
I just ordered this set from company that claimed they were in the states. Nope its from china but i only paid 31.00 and free shipping. I had to wait about 3 weeks but it was worth it. Better then paying 159 to 172 for the same set .
I added these tools to my workshop two - three years ago. Use them weekly. I find them very powerful for the handyman shop. Also added a leaf blower that works from same batteries. I'd about given up on B&D 'til I got these. Now I'm off to look at the bag.
Yes I know before this line of tools I would not have bought Black + Decker! I have been enjoying the bag it has all the right sized compartments and a waterproof base. So far so good!
I just bought the matrix drill and trim saw and was curious about the other attachments, as they are not in stock at my local Menards. Your video is very helpful, now i want more attachments! Thank you so much for taking time to do this video
I have pretty much the exact setup you do minus the air compressor part. I have been super happy with my Black & Decker tools for years now. They really work nice and have been very affordable. I recently picked up some Ridgid tools, since some of the Black and Decker lacked the power for things, but then I bought a 4 Amp batter for the B&D and that really kicks it into a new level. I can weedeat my entire lawn, then use the leaf blower and it's still got charge, all on that same battery. Thanks for the video!
As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. ru-vid.comUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.
The triangle sander is compatible with the finger spikes from the corded mouse sander :) With a heatgun and some PVC pipe you could also adapt that sander attachment to a dust vacuum through the huge slit in the side too
The Swiss Army knife of cordless tools. Some of those hold orientations look funky. That circular saw looked really really cute. Definitely keep it at home.
That's what I like of U.S.A a lot of tool with excellent prices. Here in Latam everything is most expensive. chicken feed salary. Excellent video and thank you for sharing.
Fantastic job on this. One thing i wish you would of done and yes this is a very minor thing, but, you barely mentioned the router and no demo. Reason i even mentioned that is my you son was recently given the whole kit. When he named the router, I asked him if he had tried it out. He hasn't and not being familiar with the package, I am not comfortable with trying to teach him. But, he will teach me about the device and I will teach him by trial and error how to use the router. Great job and 5 stars and 5 thumbs up. B&D should hire you for sure and for certain.
I love this set! I just got the BDCMTHDFF hammer drill attachment recently. I like it better than the impact driver. I think the only attachments I am missing are the inflator and the garden shears/hedge trimmer attachments (the latter of which I have been unable to find for sale). I splurged and got the BDCDMT1206KITC 6-piece attachment kit when it was on sale. It's the older version without the LED. I also have the older batteries. I invested in a rapid charger for the battery and even though it is larger, it is worth it. My original default drill/screwdriver attachment disappeared on me (actually 2 of them did) and my trimsaw attachments got stolen twice. Hoping to someday get the inflator, better battery, LED base, and shears/hedge trimmer attachments.
Having gotten to use the router attachment, I can tell you that it's about as good as a regular trim router, not really great on heavy duty work, but if all you're doing is rounding over edges, it'll get the job done.
I'm doing the happy dance. 😂 I just got my B&D Matrix with drill and recip saw attachments.👍😊 The battery is fully charged and I'm heading out right now to cut some trees! 😀
I would've designed it in three parts. 1- the cylindrical motor as the main power part 2- the tool attachments 3- the grip attachments and a multi-function table attachment (from table saw to router table to drill press, including the fences, supports, all in one table) *The table could also act as a case with handle(s) and wheels, to put everything in. A workshop in one case
I got lucky and bought them cuz I'm cheap and now my dad uses them on his dump trucks lol they're insane! He even blew one up and they sent me a new one for free!
I've been on the hunt for more info on the use of this system and this review shows up on the top of the results. After seeing it, my review of this review is... Pros: 1-This is probably one of the few videos out there that truly shows the different attachments, how they inter-change so easily while also demonstrating their actual use. 2-Kudos for making it and explaining everything. 3-Very nice that you list all the items and where to get them, some I didn't even know existed after searching on-line. Very well done. Cons: No cons really, I was going to get the 6 piece kit but now after seeing this video I want to get all the attachments, including that workmate bench. So yeah, not good for my wallet. :) Other comments: Someone mentioned the Craftsman Bolt-On Grinder (model 9-26993). Only seen used ones on Amazon and ebay, but I honestly can't tell if its for cutting only or can be used as a grinder.
More versatile than Rigid jobmax and Ryobi Jobplus. Hopefully, Costco will begin to carry Black Decker matrix soon. Saw Black Decker 20V cordless tool set in Costco.
You kidding when you say that rite. It's not gonna keep up. This is something for someone who can't afford the big boys and need to have a starter kit.
@@macho.3088 Yeah, but it would be nice to see home much superior the top brands are. I have the 40V Makita impact drill, it's nice and all, but I don't know how much superior it is for regular day to day tasks...
They are great tools. Some people complain that they're not as good as individual tools.. well no kidding. They're convenient, and that's what they're for. You can have all those tools in that one bag. Great video.
Omg.... Sold! I've gotta have this!! 😃 I really love that you can cut small trees with it because I gave a forest in my yard. LOL! Actually, a 10-inch diameter tree is much larger than I expected to be able to cut with this so it'll be perfect for all my sawing and drilling projects. Thanks for a great demo! 👍🙂
I have the matrix, I got it because I initially got the bnd cordless weedwacker and the matrix runs off the same battery last thing I want is a whole bunch of different batteries and different charges taking up real estate on my bench bench. This little thing so far has been better then the weedwacker cuz that thing just goes straight through the small batteries.
I love this modular system, myself own Craftsman Bolt-On circular saw & Hedge Trimmer/Shear and from the B+D Matrix all others. Also there is a Cutoff (grinding wheel) attachement from Craftsman, very difficult to find.
i'm impressed.i will get one pack soon and another hook.wonder its been release over five years.where am i ?.mostly of my tools is bosch then makita but this set is a must have for me. thanks for sharing.
Yeah we have many tools as well such as a Makita belt sander and a Bosch grinder. This is just such a handy set we go to it first! Thanks for your feedback!
I Just watch the video , vey good demostration , I have the set , but the tigger is broken , Do you Know where I can get the spare parts ? Thanks for the video. Regards.
Great video! Thanks for putting it up. I was wondering if you noticed any significant difference between the corded and cordless. I have the corded one and I am interested in buying some if not all of the attachments. However if I spend somewhere around $30 US more I can get the cordless set and all the attachments. Any thoughts?
As for power, the 20v has it where it counts. Most of the tools are actually rated at higher RPM's with the cordless 20v drill motor than the 4 amp plug in drill motor. I have 8 batteries so I don't even notice when one dies I guess.. Depending on the task the batteries last about 45 min of constant use which is usually more than enough. A fully charged drill will often last all day depending on use and ambient temp, Heat can negatively affect battery life. Hope this helps, Thank you for your question!
Meu camarada essa ea máquina que eu quero pra aprender marcenaria vejo os cara quebrado cabeça atrás de ferramentas kkkk eu com uma dessa os marceneiro ia tudo me ensinar
Thank you for a super informative video. I'm interested to know how long the battery lasts - on full charge and it's lifetime over a few years of use? Thank you in advance
The battery life really depends on the use case, If you are hanging sheetrock it can last all day, or if you are cutting nail embedded wood with the cut off saw it may only last 45 min, It really depends. I have not done tests to failure of each activity to accurately answer your question. My apologies. TI hope that helps a little, and thank you for watching!
Thank you for your response. I opted to get the drill anyway... Awesome bit of kit. Thoroughly enjoying it. You're right about 45 minutes on the saw. I've found the same to be true for the jigsaw as well. I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and use it often.
Very interesting video, it help me to discover this tool. Would you recommend this one to drill in hard cement walls? Only some holes for hanging things at home, nothing as a contractor
I loved my bolt-on i bought a second the first week . Giving me two drill bodys 4 batteries and 2 rapid chargers. And almost all attachments. Wish the batteries lasted longer but i was happy until 2 years to the day first drill stopped working . I go to sears it was discontinued. Then a week later second drill stops working. I now have 3 B&D hand sets . but batteries are crap ...
Thanks for your feedback! We have 3 cordless drills and ours are all still functioning but the old ones are getting tired. We have had good luck with the batteries all of our originals are still working great as long as they were recently charged. The newer batteries do have a bit larger capacity I have noticed.
With in the last month i have returned to Milwaukee m18 fuel. Drill ,impact ,multi. Saws-all & ratchet. With five 5.0 one 3.0 & three 2.0 BatteriesThe bolt-on is a great idea . And could rule the market if they got serious. With more power and better batteries. FYI you can find 4.0 batteries for B&D online
damn, i just bought a makita drill hamer (which i do not regret cose is a great tool) and for only 70 USD plus i could have that kid which i think it could be better for my ussages
I have the separate drill, impact driver and sander. I got the combo drill and impact driver ridiculously cheap £70 with the bag and two batteries. I don’t think there’s another set on the market that can compete for the price, but I wish I'd seen the matrix first. I’ve seen two videos on RU-vid where people have set out to take the Micky out of B&D and both were surprised by the quality. I’m not a pro so don’t need a set costing five times as much.
Home Depot has the Cordless 20V B&D "Drill" and Matrix system for around $59 but all the other extra accessory attachments are sold separately with the exception of a couple kits that are bundled; however, I haven't found a bundle that includes everything he demo'd in one package but it's not terribly expensive to buy the accessories separately. Also check with Black and Decker's website for the items you want. When you look at an item, it will direct you to a retail store where you cab purchase. Happy shopping! 😃
Yes the video is edited for time and noise as we were trying not to bore people while still showing the important parts. In the future we will put the text on screen claiming such. My apologies if this seemed to be misleading. Just trying to make the video as informational and enjoyable as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
Yes they perform very much the same, They don't seem to have an actual measurement of torque for the battery powered units however in my experience they all get the job done. If you are looking for doing hours of the same task like sanding or using the oscillating saw we would recommend the plug in unit as an option. Thanks for your question! I've got several attachments and just got the jigsaw and for some odd reason it won't connect to the drill. It seems like it doesn't want to go on far enough. I've checked the numbers and appearance and everything is right. I wonder why it won't go on the drill?
5:58 that routers never been used, you dont own a bit for it but its good in a pinch? How do you know, I have it, its 9000 RPM which is low. 30000 rpm is a high quality router. It bites into stuff easy & is hard to control but it works. Dont lie.
4:25 This does NOT do car tire lug nuts. I've had this set for years & I'm a mechanic. My car requires 72 lb-ft on the lugs. Thats the lowest torque spec on lug nuts for most cars in USA. You will smoke the motor before it pops it off. Add rust? No way. Not what its for. Or any 1/4 hex impact. Its for removing small bolts without snapping them or driving screws in wood without splitting it.
