I like how you keep your dog`s in place, smart move on the build. Oh yes i have one also about 20 years old and still in great shape. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Gary, now I have more time I'm spending it in the workshop and starting pimping up my 40 year old workmate. The trolley base is a great idea and the clamp holder will be my next job. I'm also making an occasional saw table the fits on top so I need to make sure that doesn't get in the way.
SC Wood Designs - any tool, when dropped, will roll, slide under the geometric center of the car, just out of reach. Automotive mechanic’s lament. Applies equally to wood working tools and accessories. 🥴
Gary, Amen brother, I sure know what you mean! When the weather gets warmer and I can spend more time comfortably in my garage shop I will be tinkering with this add on idea and share it with you and ask your thoughts on how it may be improved or done differently if that's ok
Great idea for the dogs. Thanks for the tip. Secondly, my tip to you - do less cuts in your editing while the camera is on you. It's far more pleasing to watch videos that don't slice and cut every few seconds.
CJG Services: This was such a great idea! It is the best solution for storing these and it's not in the way of any work that's going on. Do you think you come up with a design that will hold glues and fasteners as an addition to the Dog Kennel?
Thank you! I've thought of that. Just been using some of those Amazon boxes and cut the flaps off for the time. Those boxes that Klondike ice cream bars come in are great little parts organizers too. Have a lot of those around my shop. Doesn't help my waistline tho. 😒
Thanks, may I ask how tight the dogs are supposed to be? This is my first Workmate. I can not even hammer mine in with a rubber mallet and am beginning to think I got imperial dogs with a metric Workmate (I live in Europe). If I get them in I don't think I will ever get them out. Thanks.
Hey I just picked up a 425, so I'm watching all the videos on here about it. I was just thinking when you said the hole was 25/32nds and then that a 20mm bit did the job "Hey, I wonder if Black and Decker does it's layout in metric?" Turns out they do, and have since 1979, here's a link if you're interested: www.us-metric.org/going-metric-pays-off#bd
