Almost fifty years ago I started with a “bowline and two half hitches”…. I managed to borrow a “Troll belt” (no leg loops) until I saved up for a Whillans Harness. Any sizable fall in that would give you a squeaky voice for a few hours..!
JTFulky, It depends on what you’re planning on using your harness for. Where do you plan on using it the most: in the gym or outdoors? Sport, trad, top? Is this your first ever harness or are you simply looking for a new one? Those factors will help narrow down the options. ~Trevor
How does the outside material handle scrapes from tree bark? I'm looking into using this as a safety harness to do some pruning work up a tree so I will be squirming around and likely scraping against tree limbs and rough bark.
