Us Brits moved away from punk and formed amazing post-punk bands, but America took British punk and made it better:)))))))) Faster, tighter, more conviction, the real deal. Not including the Pistols ofc, they were the real deal too. Not knocking the Clash, but Minor Threat didn't hear "White Riot" and think "Yes, we have to do this."
I had this original vinyl 45 record signed by Kieth Morris in 1979 when they played at West Hillhurst community centre in Calgary Alberta. They played this in the same order as the record. It was the most insane thing I'd ever heard in my 17 year old life at the time. I played it for my 23 year old son today. His comment was, "you listened to that live ? - whoa !!" The SubHumans from Vancouver BC played the same show.

Sera haha. Im still living it h.c. always will. Going without black flag is like sucking a condom full of sperm in front of the super indendant of the prison
One of the first bands to break away from trying to sound British at the time. Even my hometown band D.O.A 's early recordings sounded a bit British punk in 81 .
I was in 7th grade in 1992. My boyfriend made me a mixtape. The tape was translucent grass green and had a white label with a rainbow logo printed on it. This song was on that tape.
I play (played?) in an underground band (stopped playing in COVID). Whenever we had one of those rare gigs with 1000+ people and we were shitting our pants that we had to go out there and play 10 songs to a horde of ravid beasts, I'd wait until the stage guy told us "5 minutes", then crawl into a corner and blast this EP into my ears as high as the headphones allowed. I then jumped on stage super pumped and sang and screamed my head off. Fuck yes. If you have any blood in you, this EP turns you into the guy on the right of the cover.
@@dgarcia8421yeah Mike Valley is a great fit for black flag. , I have yet to see them in the current line up. But I saw the circle jerks last Friday night, with the adolescents, and the Decedents. 3 bands 3 hours 80 to 90 songs. The decedents played 35, with no breaks or filler.
@@Nick-qf7vt Agreed, but not as heavy as this. The guitar tones and the intensity here is ridiculously fierce. That being said, Lexicon Devil is super raw and the song No God is especially intense. Both EPs are top notch all time classics for sure.
How did they know what just happened to me.I’m half way through the school year and flunking.I’ve got an angry grandma and I feel like a failure. So,I just had a breakdown.
Reminds me when I held back the business manager at school with his chair. Sure there were threats. I told him to 'wake up youre gonna be ok, youll manage'.
Few bands really defined the 70s/80s... Black flag... Poison idea .... Agnostic front... Lockjaw... Reagan youth.... Warzone... & black market baby...OH SORRY BAD BRAINS TOO
